The term ‘Massive Transformative Purpose’ (MTP) was coined in the book ‘Exponential
Organizations’ by Salim Ismail et.al, which describes the new breed of organisations that
outperform their 20th century peers by 10x or more. While this is all discussed in a business
context, the same exponential attribute can also be applied on your personal life,
potentially with very transformative (and even disruptive) outcome.

!! Word of caution: do not go into this if you are uncomfortable with change :-)

I am running a 1-hour online session on how to apply the Massive Transformative Purpose
attribute on your own life and the intro to the session begins like this:

"Do you feel like your life or career is sailing around in circles? Or are you even
stranded? Perhaps then it is time for you to review or design your own Personal
Massive Transformative Purpose!

But it's about more than your own Purpose. It is a Purpose that is Massive (impacts the
world) and Transformative and about the change in the world that you would like to see (so
it is not really about you).

Margaret Atwood, author, inventor and teacher said: “What am I living for and what am I
dying for are the same question”. Lots of studies show that life is simply much greater living
when we are part of something bigger than ourselves and in particular when we are able to
contribute in meaningful ways to something that excites us. Something that can change the
world for the better. When people are contributing to a higher purpose, they are likely to
have a healthier outlook on life and be more resilient to stress.

Setting ourselves a "Personal Northstar", which is how I often like to refer to our Personal
MTP, can motivate us and remain our guiding principles potentially for the rest of our life
(even though a MTP can and often do change over time). The Personal MTP can be helping
you to initiate and drive massive change in your own life or business -and frequently turns
out to radically simplify your decision making whether or not to pursue a new opportunity
that crosses your path.

As you start communicating your Personal

Massive Transformative Purpose in your
personal introductions to others, in your work
and in other ways, you will start to see others
being attracted to your MTP

But even better than this, as you start communicating your Personal Massive Transformative
Purpose in your personal introductions to others, in your work and in other ways, you will
start to see others being attracted to your MTP. And those being attracted will have
interesting things in common with you. Usually similar goals and -of course- purpose. This
is a good beginning for potential partnerships in personal or business context.

Those good people who are attracted to your Personal MTP will be finding you wherever
you are! You do not have to find them -which is great when you want to Massively impact
the world.

The 'Massive Transformative Purpose' has been adopted by an increasing number of large
organisations (and smaller ones too). I have personally with the amazing Coach teams from
ExO Works and ExO Lever taken hundreds of leaders from around the world through the
process of designing MTP's for their business to help them in their innovation processes and
to help them find their communities (and vice versa). Now you can do the same!

What would your life be like if every big decision you ever have to make can be easier
to make since you have a "Northstar" always showing you and those around you the
massive impact you want to have on the world?

What would your life be like if you had a community of peers and mentors, who are all
strongly attracted to -and inspired by your Personal Massive Transformative Purpose?
