1.
Molly: Hi, Jack!
Jack: Hi, Molly.
Molly: You look really tired. What’s the matter?
Jack: I feel awful. I’ve got earache. It’s really sore. I couldn’t sleep last night and now I
can’t hear anything.
Molly: Can you hear me?
Jack: Yes, I can. Ha. Ha. I feel sick, too.
Molly: Have you eaten something strange this morning?
Jack: No, I haven’t eaten anything. Well, just two chocolate biscuits and an orange juice for
breakfast.
Molly: You shouldn’t eat chocolate if you feel sick! And I don’t think orange juice is a good
idea when you’ve got a sore stomach.
Jack: OK, OK! I just feel … terrible.
Molly: Well, you shouldn’t be at school today.
Jack: I know. I’m going to go home after lunch.
Molly: You should go to the doctor if you’ve got earache.
Jack: But I feel too sick to walk to the doctor’s.
Molly: You should take a taxi.
Jack: No way! Taxis cost a bomb. I’ll just go straight home and straight to bed. I think I’ll
have an ice cream for lunch first though. I do feel a little bit hungry now …
Molly: Oh, Jack!
Track 20 and 21
3.
Mum: Ryan, would you prefer pizza or burger for lunch?
Ryan: Oh, I’d prefer pizza, please Mum.
Mum: OK. And would you rather have chips or salad with it?
Ryan: Well … salad is more healthy, but I’d rather have chips.
Mum: OK, but I’m going to have salad. Now, we can eat here in the kitchen … but I’d like
to eat outdoors in the garden. It’s nice and warm outside.
Ryan: No, it’s too hot for me. I’d prefer to eat indoors if that’s OK.
Mum: Of course. You can lay the table for me. Or would you prefer to empty the
dishwasher?
Ryan: Er ... Neither to be honest!
