Instructions
Safety
The electric motor may only be serviced by
properly trained personnel.
The motor might get hot under extreme conditions.
Touching it might cause skin burn
The torque tranducer might get permanently
damaged if high bending or torsional stresses are
applied across it. See page 2(2).
Instructions given in this service bulletin must be
followed. This also applies to any local rules etc.
The use of other than genuine Atlas Copco
replacement parts may result in decreased tool
performance and increased maintenance and may,
at the company option, invalidate all warranties.
Tools
1. A shortened hex wrench key is required for
hexagonal screw. It is made by grinding the
short end of a standard 4 mm hex wrench key
to a length of 10 mm. See page 2(2).
2. A special tool (drawing 4230 2046 00) is also
required when positioning the connector. See
page 2(2).
3. A special tool (drawing 4230 2044 80) is also
recuired when opening the connector. See
page 2(2).
Lubricants
All gears and rotating parts shall be greased with
LUBRA K HS - Our part No. 4230 1480 00.
In the US, the same lubricant is known as Courier.

Sweden).
Under normal conditions, with motor temperatures
below 80C a service life of 4 years or 2 million
cycles is expected. If a different lubricant is being
used a service interval of less than 2 years, or 1
million cycles is more likely.
Disassembly
The sun gear mounted on the motor shaft may not
be held across the toothed section when removing
the bearing. This will bend the teeth. The bearing
is held by an interference fit to the housing
Assembly
How to place the bearings is indicated by the
drawing in the pertaining parts list.
When having assembled the nutrunner it shall be
possible to rotate the shaft with a wrench
Connectors

Tightening Torque Values

• The three screws M5 holding the gear rim to
the transducer shall be tightened to 10 Nm
• The three screws M6 holding the nutrunner to
the base plate shall be tightened to 15 Nm
• The single screw M4 holding the front part to
the transducer shall be tightened to 5 Nm
