The Toilet Soap industry as sample studied over the span of 25+ Manufacturers on the
Online E-Commerce Platform IndiaMart has brought about deep insights into aspects about
the industry such as Financial turnover of the Manufacturer, Public and Private Companies,
Partnerships, Proprietorships, etc under the Forms of Ownership head, Employment Scales,
The Distribution of Revenues, among several other factors such as Online/Offline Reach of
the Manufacturer.
Following are the manufacturing units considered for the research work.

For analyzing the industry we have made use of the following five parameters or Criteria:-

1.) Geographic Region

2.) Financial Turnover

3.) Reach of Organization

4.) Size of Organization

5.) Distribution of Revenue

1.) Geographic Region


If we take a look towards the location of the companies we observe that there are five
organizations from the North zone, four from the Southern Region, Sixteen belonging to the
West and that there is no Organization from the Eastern region.
Of the 5 organizations from the West, 1 is a Partnership, 3 are Proprietorships, and 1 is a
Private Limited Company. The south zone has 2 private companies and 2 proprietorships
respectively. Similarly, The North zone consists of 1 partnership, 3 proprietorship and 1
private company.
As a result we observe that West region has 64% of Soap Manufacturers, North region has
20% of Soap Manufacturers, and 16% is the representation from the Southern Territorial
Manufacturing Organizations.

Seven out of the Twenty Five manufacturers have their annual turnover less than 1 crore.
Eighteen Manufacturers have the annual turnover ranging from rupees 1 crore to rupees 50
crores.

3.) Reach of Organization.


Out of the 25 manufacturers each and every has their own Web Portal/Website and other
functionalities such as Inquiries are also facilitated via the internet, and other digital media.

4.) Size of Organization.


Out of the 25 organizations, Two organizations employ more than 100 persons, two
organizations employ between 50 & 100 persons, three organizations employ between 26 &
50 people, two employ between 11 & 25 persons, and two employ upto 10 persons.
5.) Distribution of Revenue.
The following Tabulation sets forth the Distribution Of Revenue spanning over the three
territories/regions/geographical zones.
We may observe that the the North zone has the highest value of Revenue at almost two
times that of the south zone and @142% of the revenue of the West.
