Using your own words, answer the following questions:

1. How is the value of a painting determined? (5 pts.)

Based on my reasearch the value painting is determined by, most of the price of a
work of art is a reflection of the artist's reputation, not his/her skill. At any time, you can
find equal or better art on the street at lower prices than in any art gallery, and of course
the reputation or history of a work of art plays an important role in its value, for example
if the work of art was owned by an important person or related to an event, then the value
increases. And when you add price calculation skills, it's based on how closely the
artwork matches the ideal type of that style. A skill that everyone always mentions is
simply the artist's ability to imitate his current favorite style.

2. What is the most expensive painting in the world? Is it worth its price? Why or why not? (10
pts.)

The Mona Lisa by Leonardo Da Vinci

Price: 700 Million USD

There is no doubt that the Mona Lisa is a very good painting.

Even when Leonardo worked for it, it was highly regarded. In
fact, the Mona Lisa is a very realistic portrait. So the question
is does it worth the price? Yes, because when buying a
painting you’re not just buying a thing to hang on your wall,
you’re buying the history of the artist the background of that
cartain master piece and you are buying the experience it self.
