Overview:

In our world, transportation has been contributing a huge factor in


the development of all nations, and that to every stage of civilization.

Transportation indeed plays a vital role in our day by day lives,


without transportation there is no movement from one place to another,
works and essential services are imperiled if the person cannot render
their duties. life may still be in danger without transportation.

Unfortunately today, daily commute has become obstructed due to


congestion and everyday busy life. Numerous problems arising due to
traffic congestions and accidents became very prevalent and common.
The government has continuously searched and provided for alternative
methods to address this dilemma and to improved the means of
transportation. With the end goal of making commuting more efficient and
accessible.

Therefore, the BJMP Gattaran Municipal Jail adheres with RA 4136


or the LTO Traffic Code prior to DILG Directive - DILG memorandum
circular 2020-04, Banning/Prohibiting the presence of tricycles and
pedicabs on the national roads and prescribing the operating conditions
and franchising of tricycles.

Purpose:

 To reduce traffic; accident and ensure public safety;


 To raise awareness in intensifying the implementation of road
safety policy

Coverage:

This applies to the municipal mayor, LGU, DILG and PNP.

Policy Content:

1. Imposing Higher Penalties to those who violates the ordinance;


thus, LGU must create an ordinance for the imposition of
penalties to those who violates.

2. Installation of signages, mark of lanes to guide all vehicle users.
3. Information dissemination to the public with regards to the policy
and its penalties
4. Identification of alternative routes to ensure compliance and to
ease the burden of the imposed prohibitions.
5. Continuous monitoring

Recommendation:

 Strict implementation of the policy by the LGU, traffic


enforcers and PNP.
