ANALYSIS OF A METALLIC PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE UNDER DYNAMIC HUMAN

LOADS IN PRE AND POST REINFORCEMENT PHASES

- The purpose of this work is to study the dynamic behavior of a pedestrian bridge in
Alicante, Spain. It is a very slender footbridge with vertical and horizontal vibration
problems during the passage of pedestrians. Accelerations have been recorded by
accelerometers installed at various locations of the bridge. Two scenarios, in free
vibration (after the passage of a certain number of pedestrians on the bridge) and forced
vibration produced by a fixed number of pedestrians walking on the bridge at a certain
speed and frequency.
- The footbridge of Postiguet Beach in Alicante, Spain, is a typical example of a structure
particularly sensitive to vertical vibrations and, to a lesser extent, to horizontal vibrations.
In this study the dynamic behavior of this walkway was investigated in detail with the
aim of establishing its deficiencies from a dynamic point of view.

introduction and instructions for the readers to analyze the purpose of the study well.
c.) As I said the abstract stated it all very clear. In addition, they are very specific to what is
done by this study, like how they given us two scenarios to better understand this work.
d.) No, it is close to perfect the journal has given some diagrams for analysis and a brief this
discussion for that it is well constructed.
e.) Yes, because it is a study of analysis and for that they made calculations, tables, and
diagrams which is very fitted for this kind of study.
f.) No, because their methodology is quite specific for this research only.
g.) Yes, their statistical methods are very detailed knowing that they are really professional
with their works. In this research, step by step calculations and many diagrams, and
tables were included.
h.) I don’t see any duplication on the given journal.
i.) My proposed research is the renovation of a bridge which is also a metallic bridge and
also a pedestrian bridge, which is really very suited for a reference research.
