EXPENSIVE PAPER PHENOMENON WITH FANTASTIC PRICES

K-Pop is certainly no stranger to the public's ears. The rise of this rapidly growing idol
group, makes companies that handle K-Pop groups this time don't want to lose. For example,
by removing merchandise from the artist. Of course, the fans who are usually called Kpopers
dare to spend a lot of money to get the merchandise as a form of their love for the artist. One
of them is a photocard, but this paper-based merchandise can only be obtained if the fans buy
the artist's album. For fans, collecting photocards brings an atmosphere of satisfaction,
especially if they get a bias photocard (favorite individual member for fans) in their favorite
group.
This phenomenon does not only occur in Indonesia, but abroad as well. This is shown
by several posts on social media, that there are several accounts that serve delivery to overseas.
Although this phenomenon is not new, it is unexpected that photocard sales are selling well
until now. Many non-KPop fans may ask questions and make statements such as "instead of
printing it yourself or buying cheap fakes", "why does paper slip so easily when it's so
expensive?" These statements and questions are not without reason to make K-Pop fans maybe
sensitive. For a number of reasons, one of which is that photocards are not just any paper that
is easy to forge. Apart from being official merchandise, this photocard is also made of paper
or paper prints and also different laminating, so this photocard looks very exclusive.

Coupled with the selfie photo of the artist's face and their official signature on the paper,
this photocard is famous among fans with the nicknames "expensive paper" and "handsome
paper". In addition, there are photocards that can be said to be very difficult to obtain or are
limited edition. The reason is because there are only a few volumes in the world and also can
only be obtained at certain events. Supported by companies that apply pre-orders in one season
when the artist makes a comeback or releases a new song. Photos on photocards are usually
not widely spread on social media, so the members specifically take these photos for album
merchandise. And of course the numbers are limited.

Some time ago, news circulated that one of the golden children belonging to the NCT
group, namely Jung Jaehyun, his photocard in the edition of his latest album entitled Resonance
sold up to Rp. 14.3 million. The price can be to buy a motorcycle is not it. Previously, NCT
made a comeback with their full 23 members and has released an album with the title
Resonance. This makes NCT or NCTzen fans feel uneasy about the photocards given by the
company. Because SM stated that they only provide one photocard in each album and NCT has
23 members. This certainly makes the opportunity to get a bias photocard very difficult.
