Task 9 Proposal Title of magazine you wish to produce: Encore: This is because a main part of rock music revolves

s around the live aspect or it, and an encore is something that happens when the crowd wants more! With a new music magazine, the publishers would want to publish something that leaves the audience wanting more. Explanation of choice of genre: Rock. I listen to rock music and Kerrang is the most well known music magazine to me and the only one I have ever read, so a lot of my magazine is going to be based off of Kerrang! Target Audience: Even though Kerrang!s target audience is males age 15- 35, I know for a fact that some of my female friends still read rock music magazines. Therefore, my target audience is going to be both males and females of the ages 15- 30. I say 30, because magazine will be less explicit in language and will feature rock artists who appeal to a younger adult audience, unlike some of the artists featured in Kerrang (Slipknot are a good example). Initial ideas about front page: It will feature a single artist, with coverline about her. A section about what you could win. The will be text on top of the mast head saying something like The magazine that keeps you coming back for more or something along those lines. Some text will be in bright colours, some in white/black, some with a highlighted effect (black backgroud). Eg. .NEW MUSIC ARTIST ALERT! Initial ideas about contents page: It will be packed full of features so that there is no dead space. Also, as I found out in my focus group, it is preferred when there are a lot of features mentioned in the magazines contents page as it interests the readers and makes them want to read on.

Initial ideas about double page spread: My double page spread will either be 1 page of an interview and the other page a poster, or 2 pages of the interview, with 1 half of the first page being an image/the title. Initial ideas about photo graphs: My initial plan is that my front page image is going to be similar to this image of Green Day, but with a single artist instead of a band.

If I change my mind about this when I come to make the magazine, this kind of picture may be used as a poster picture. I will also need to make a few fake CD covers for my chosen featured artists. I cant plan to much as to what I plan to have my photos look like as once I get a camera, I will just start to take photos and use whatever I feel looks the best and change my mind on impulse.
