3. Why is the word “globalization” given emphasis or

 The word “globalization” is important in todays
contemporary world for some reasons. First is to get
technological and managerial know-how of other
countries due to their advancement in science,
technology, education, health, and other fields of
discipline. Also to reduce high transportation costs if
one goes globally using the advance tools of
communication and information, and to be close to
raw materials and to markets for their finished
products which are not available in the country of
origin. Rapid shrinking of time and distance across
the globe. One can easily cross the bridge going to
the other side of the market place due to advance
tools of technology than before. Domestic markets
are no longer rich as a consequence of many
interlocking factors, companies and institutions go
global to find political and economy stability which is
relatively good in other countries than the country
of origin. Lastly the creation of the World Trade
Organization (WTO) had made it possible in
stimulating increased cross-border trade . There are
other world bodies like the UN and several
arbitration bodies where countries agree.

What Globalization Means to Me?

What Globalization Means To Me

Globalization is by word of the time . Gone are the days
when we just confine ourselves to what is local, confusing only
on our goods services and other resources . Times have
changed and these changes are so rapid that we have to catch
up with the changing time period as we look beyond our steps ,
we met many challenges along the way those in business ,
education , health , science and technology , and other new
fields of endeavor . We just close our eyes but we need to
respond to these challenges because they have an impact to
our lives , the community , and in the country where we are
doing our activities.
Globalization for me is the integration between people,
companies, and governments. Most noteworthy, this
integration occurs on a global scale. Furthermore, it is the
process of expanding the business all over the world. In
Globalization, many businesses expand globally and assume an
international image. Consequently, there is a requirement for
huge investment to develop international companies. Just
because of the globalization, there has been huge economical
growth of the companies. They have been more productive and
thus given rise a more competitive world. There is a
competition in the quality of products, services, etc. Successful
companies of the developed countries are establishing their
foreign branches to take advantage locally through the low cost
man labor than their home countries. Such type of business
activities are giving employment to the people of developing or
poor countries thus giving way to go ahead.

Together with the positive aspects of the globalization,

negative aspects are not forgettable. There has been risk of
epidemic diseases by means of transportation from one
country to another. There has been proper control of the
government of all countries on the globalization in order to
reduce its negative impacts on the human lives.

 ASSIGNMENT
Do an online research about the world of regions.

World religions is a category used in the study of

religion to demarcate the five—and in some cases
more—largest and most internationally widespread
religious movements. Christianity, Islam, Judaism,
Hinduism, and Buddhism are always included in the
list, being known as the “Big Five”. Some scholars also
include other religions, such as Sikhism,
Zoroastrianism, or the Baha’i Faith, in the category.
These are often juxtaposed against other categories,
such as indigenous religions and new religious
movements, which are also used by scholars in this
field of research.
Symbols commonly associated with six of the religions
labelled “world religions”: clockwise from the top,
these represent Judaism, Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism,
Taoism, and Christianity

The world religions paradigm was developed in the

United Kingdom in the 1960s, where it was pioneered
by phenomenological scholars like Ninian Smart. It was
designed to broaden the study of religion away from
its heavy focus on Christianity by taking into account
other large religious traditions around the world. The
paradigm is often used by lecturers instructing
undergraduate students in the study of religion and is
also the framework used by school teachers in the UK
other countries. The paradigm’s emphasis on viewing
these religious movements as distinct and mutually
exclusive entities has also had a wider impact on the
categorization of religion—for instance in censuses—in
both Western countries and elsewhere.

Since the late twentieth century, the paradigm has

faced critique by scholars of religion like Jonathan Z.
Smith, some of whom have argued for its
abandonment. Critics have argued that the world
religions paradigm is inappropriate because it takes
the Protestant variant of Christianity as the model for
what constitutes religion; that it is tied up with
discourses of modernity, including modern power
relations; that it encourages an uncritical
understanding of religion; and that it makes a value
judgement as to what religions should be considered
“major”. Others have argued that it remains useful in
the classroom, so long as students are made aware
that it is a socially constructed category.
