5. Sources of pollution

Air in the area is not that dusty and not polluted. Air is safe
to breathe. And neighbors are not that engrossed to burning
garbage since most houses are attached to each other, it is
their preventive method to avoid doing such thing knowing

The family members commonly do household chores together. The interviewee,
specifically Honey Kaye do her modules aside from taking care of her 11-month-old
baby. They talk a lot as a family as their means of bonding and do some recreational
activities such as “tagay” and “karaoke” but also depending on the mood and event.

The interviewee answered that she doesn’t see anything that can be alleviated with medical or
social technology since they are just well in their home. She answered that she doesn’t see a
chance in their family to experience blindness, leg amputation, paralysis and others since she
believed they are all healthy.

The staircase of the house has too much elevation and no proper railings or
handle; The house is made is mostly made of light materials which is susceptible
to fire hazard. Improper drainage system, noise pollution, presence of breeding
places of insects and rodents, excessive smoking and use of dangerous narcotics
or drugs and walking barefooted could be the leading cause of diseases or
injuries.

Just a month ago, the family’s former head which is their grandmother namely
Emiliana Aratia passed away due to heart attack. This stressful condition created
a drastic effect to the household members emotional wellbeing.

The client mentioned that with common colds or sore throat, they usually use
ginger in a from of salabat and kalabo as a remedy, thus primary home remedies
are of organic sources.

The barangay health center is the family's major health care option, particularly for
Honey Kaye's kid, who requires monthly checkups and vaccines. However, they should
always go to the nearest hospital, which is the ACE hospital, if they have a greater degree
of emergency or health issues.
