For a personal problem, using the rational decision-making process, justify the best solution
through quantification.
Azam is freshmen in university. He uses uber and careem daily for transport. His phone battery
last for 4 hour and he is on campus for about 8 hours. He is facing issue while going back home
because at the end of the day he couldn’t use phone. He doesn’t have enough budget to buy
new phone and he don’t want to repair his phone. He is thinking about to buy power bank. His
budget is limited.
Decision making process:
1. Problem identification:
These are the problem faced by Azam:

 Phone battery drain quickly


 Limited budget

2. Identifying decision criteria:


He is thing about to buy new power bank, his priorities are battery, price, fast charging, carrying
weight, number of USB ports and warranty.

5. Analyzing alternatives:
After analyzing the data from market now we are going score each alternative by over
priorities. The following table show the scoring:

6. Selecting the alternative


From the above table we can see that Dany has highest score from other alternatives. So, Azam
will select Dany.
7. Implementing the alternatives:
As Azam has already selected the alternative. He will buy deny power bank. Suppose if deny
power bank isn’t available in the market or the price of that product have rose. Then he will
select the second highest score, he would then buy Audionic.
8. Evaluating decision effectiveness:
After following whole this process Azam would evaluate his decision by check the product that
he had bought and check if the issue resolved or not. If the issue remains the same then he
would have to check all the steps where he went wrong.
