Course Analysis

Organizational Behavior and Development begins by unravelling the crucial elements

that leaders need to understand when it comes to creating environments that support workforce

and organizational needs. Topics such as conflict management, organizational structure, culture,

and motivation are some of the very important elements that exist within our entities and that are

heavily influenced by leadership practices. There is a substantial opportunity for improvement

when we take the time to understand how behavior effects both our people and entities.

Additionally, learning how we can further develop and improve behavior by our daily activities,

expectations, and interactions.

Conflict Management

Conflict Management will continue to be an area of business that many leaders should

take the time in understanding more clearly. Becoming more knowledgeable about conflict

management so that you can implement the best strategies for your workplace and for the needs

of your employees. After all, we are responsible for becoming the change makers our

organizations need. We must continue to keep the motivation and passion to support our

workforce and the activities necessary for longevity. Today more than ever conflict management

spans numerous degrees. This is because technology has vastly developed, because remote

workers as increased, because interactions with consumers and other business interactions across

countries and globalization is occurring and most of our conversations are happening in diverse

and electronic formats. So organizational behavior and development is imperative for leaders to

be in tuned with. Curating our behaviors as an entity so that our employees follow suit and so all

those we interact with outside interactions also feel the culture of our organization and respond

accordingly.

Organizational Structure

Future Leaders can help design their organizational structure in a positive manner so that

all can benefit from it as well as learn, grow and thrive together. Right now, it is what is most

need for a fruitful business, high quality production, excellent work culture and one that can

continue to adapt to the ever-changing needs of the business demands. Patterns of coordination is

also something related to structure. It is a duty that requires a great deal of organizational skills,

tracking, processes, and standardization. As we move into a more heavily dependent technical

world this will require further educating and better procedures for those who hold these roles.

The impact of the organizational structure is something that is felt by every department

regardless of purpose. It really influences organizational behavior and functioning and should be

improved very methodically and continuously. This course has shined a light on the fact that

organizations need to consistently be looking to change and improve because traditional frame of

think and being is not sustainable in today’s world. The concept of being agile, flexible,

resourceful, and open to new ideas is necessary not optional.

Motivation

Organizations have been continuing to implement and develop motivational theories in

hopes to capture continuous employee engagement. This is a complex and highly discussed

topic. As we become more knowledgeable with the foundation of how and why people are

motivated, we as leaders will better incorporate workplace strategies that yield supreme drive,

purpose, results and action. Over this context of this course, it has become far more apparent that

businesses are better understanding the human needs of their employees. Employees today are no

longer driven by the concept of “having a job” they need to feel as though they play a role in the

organizations mission, they have purpose, they are recognized for their work, they feel fulfilled

and happy to be in their role and with their organization. This means that leadership now must

incorporate different practices so that these things are more recognizable to the employees and

motivate them. Many ideals must align for individuals to feel motivated. This process begins at

the interview and hiring stage and progresses as the individual take part in everyday activities

within the entity. To improve retention and employees who work creatively, innovatively, and

sustainably for the organization motivation, incentivizing, and recognition are necessary.

Effective leadership goes much further in the organization than what you bring to the table in life

experience, in aspirations for the future and tangible benefits.

Effective Leadership

Leadership unlike management is a style of leading people in a manner that elicits

support, advocation, growth, guidance, compassion and constant education. The power truly lies

in effectively leading. Executive leaders are now realizing how powerful and how impactful

having solid leaders in place can influence all aspects of the organizations purpose. Qualities

such as courage, commitment, ambition, and passion are traits they have realized are far more

valuable in the workforce as a whole. The identificaiton of being emotionally intelligent and how

much that impacts the business is now evident. The expectation is to have the best people in

positions that will steer the organization in a positive direction. The value of our current

employee base is now more readily noticed. Valuing the people who have worked their way up

through the ranks and have developed within the organizations are seen as valuable employees

that will assist in teaching others understanding, applying and displaying how to best assist the

organizational mission.
