LESSON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
PLAN Name Jerome M. Alpanta 2nd Quarter

I. OBJECTIVES
Content Standards The learners demonstrate an understanding of how the major organs of the human
body work together to form organ systems.
Performance Standards The learners should be able to make a chart showing healthful habits that promote
proper functioning of the Musculo-skeletal, integumentary, digestive, circulatory,
excretory, respiratory, and nervous systems.
Learning Explain how the different organ systems work together S6LT-IIcd-2.
Competencies/Objectives Describe the structures and functions of the parts of the nervous system.
Write the LC code for each

Brain Spinal Cord Nerves

Look at the picture. These are the parts of the nervous system. The nervous system
is the most complex in our body. It regulates the functions of the other system. It
controls the beating of your heart (involuntary function) the movement of your
arms, legs, and other body parts whether you are at work or play or just resting
(voluntary function). It receives information from the environment and causes
specific parts of the body to act on that information (sensory function) and it helps
us think and remember (cognitive function).
D. Discussing new concepts The nervous system is made up of the brain, the spinal cord, and nerves.
and practicing new skills The brain- is the control center of the nervous system. It serves as the master
#1 control center of the body. It is responsible for receiving, interpreting, and sending
information to the body.
Spinal cord- It is the very delicate structure of the body. It’s the downward
extension of the brain and so responsible for reflex action, relay message from the
nerve to the brain.
Nerves- is the basic unit of the nervous system. It carries the signal, information
gathered by the sense organs from the environment to the spinal cord and the
brain.
E. Discussing new concepts Direction: Divide the class into two groups. Each group should:
and practicing new skills 1.Arrange the jumbled pictures of the three main parts of the nervous system.
#2 2. Label the parts of the nervous system.
3. Label the function of each part.

I. Evaluating learning Direction: Write T if the statement is true and F if the statement is false.
_T_ 1. Nerve cells are the basic unit of the nervous system that its main function
is to deliver messages.
_F_ 2. The spinal cord is the master controller of the nervous system.
_T_ 3. The brain and spinal cord composed the central nervous system.
_T_ 4. The brain is a set of human intelligence.
_F_ 5. The nervous system has three main parts the brain, spinal cord, and heart.
