Teacher. Dear children! I think everyone likes holidays. Today we have


gathered in our assembly hall to listen about different holidays. What Holidays
of the English-speaking countries do you know? Look at our wall and name
them please.What is your favourite one?
Halloween
Welcome the pupils of the 6A form! They invite you to the Halloween party!
1. The description of the holiday.

There is a nice holiday for children in England and America in autumn.

It is Halloween. It is on the thirty-first of October.

On this day boys and girls put on old and funny clothes.
Children may be witches, ghosts, kings and others.

People put pumpkins on the window-sills. They cut eyes, noses and mouths in the
pumpkins.

Then they put candles into them. So the pumpkin looks like a face.

The children go from house to house and knock at the doors. They say, "Trick or treat".

People give them sweets, fruit, cakes and many other tasty things. This is a nice, fun and
tasty autumn holiday.

3. Dramatizing «Halloween party»

Father( with a newspaper) and mother (taking a plate with candies and fruit) appear.
Father. Oh, dear. Today is the thirty first of October. It’s time to celebrate Halloween.
Mother. Let’s arrange a Halloween party for our children. Where are they?
Knock at the door. Father opens the door and frightens: «Oh! My God!»

Children in the costumes of the witches, ghosts and vampires come into the house.

Children: Trick or treat! Trick or treat! Trick or treat!


Father gives apples to children.
Children: Trick or treat! Trick or treat! Trick or treat!
Father gives candies to children.
Children: Trick or treat! Trick or treat! Trick or treat!
Children receive nothing so they take a balloon and break it.
Father. OK. OK. Take some cakes.

St. Valentine’s Day


The next holiday is the holiday of all sweethearts. It is St. Valentine’s Day. Welcome the
pupils of the 6B form.
1. The description of the holiday.
St. Valentine’s Day is on the 14th of January.

It is the holiday of all sweethearts and close friends.

On this day young people send presents and cards to each other.

They just write “Be my Valentine”, or “from your Valentine”

The symbols of this holiday are red hearts, roses, ribbons, and cupid.

Solemn music sounds, an emperor in the Greek clothes with a roll appears on the stage.

Emperor. I am an emperor of Rome. My name is Claudius the second. I need good soldiers
for my army and I forbid everybody to marry. Men must fight and not marry.

The emperor leaves. Church music sounds. The priest with the bible steps on the stage.
Holding hands, the girl and the young man run. They fall on the knees before the priest.

He: Oh, please! Marry us! We love each other!

She: Please. Help us!

Priest: I see… you love each other very much. I will help you. I’ll marry you secretly.

My daughter! My son! I declare you husband and wife! Be happy!


Valls Vivaldi sounds.

Lyrical music sounds. Three angels with hearts read verses.

That someone sent to me.
It's pink and white

And pretty as can be.

New Year and Christmas!


The pupils of the 5A form are going to tell us about New Year and Christmas
1. The description of the holiday.

Christmas is a very happy holiday. It is celebrated on the 25th of December in England.

Englishman put the New Year’s tree and decorate it with beautiful toys and lights.

Children like to sing and dance around the New Year’s tree

On Christmas Santa Claus comes to little children and puts presents into stockings.

2. Dramatizing a part of the story “Eeyore’s birthday”

N. One day Winnie the Pooh got up early in the morning and went for a walk in the forest.
There he saw his friend Eeyore, the donkey. Eeyore looked very sad

W. Why are you so sad?

E. It’s my Birthday today, but I haven’t got any presents

W. Oh! Many happy returns of the day, Eeyore!

E. And many happy returns to you , Pooh!

W. But it isn’t my birthday, Eeyore!

E. No, it’s my birthday.

W. But you said “many happy returns” to me

E. Did I? Oh, I wanted to say ‘Thank you’, Pooh bear.

N. Pooh ran home to get Eeyore a present. Near the house he saw Piglet.

W. Do you know it is Eeyore’s birthday today? Poor donkey, he is so sad

P. Why?

W. It is his birthday today, but he hasn’t got any present. What can we give him sa a
present, Piglet?

P. I haven’t got an idea, Pooh

W. Oh, Piglet, I’ve got an idea. I shall give him a jar of honey.
P. And I shall give him a red balloon

W. You’re very kind, Piglet!

P. You are so kind,Pooh

N. In the evening the happy friends went to Eeyore’s birthday party.

Stepmother (надменно): We’ll go to the ball today. You, Basil, go away! Cinderella,
clean this mess and I want a party dress.

Stepsister (прихорашивается перед зеркалом): And I want a dress.

Stepmother (бросает на пол вещи): Cinderella, clean this mess! You can’t go to the
ball, until you do this all (дает ей длинный список домашних дел).
Stepsister (хихикая): No, you can’t go to the ball, until you do this all!
(Звучит музыка. Мачеха с дочерью уходят.)

Cinderella (читает вслух): Clean the house, wash the blouse, make food... Oh, it’s not
good (плачет).

(Золушка плачет. Звучит музыка. Появляется фея.)

Fairy: Why are you crying, dear, why? Please, don’t cry!

Cinderella (плачет): I can’t go to the ball, because my dress is very old.

Fairy: I can help you. Look at me! Close your eyes. One-two-three! (взмахивает
волшебной палочкой)

Cinderella (изумленно смотрит на свое новое красивое платье): I can’t believe this
dress is mine! Thank you, fairy, you are so kind.

Fairy (грозит Золушке пальцем): But at twelve o’clock you must be here… or your
dress will disappear.

Cinderella (радостно): Oh, yes, it’s clear.

III

(Звучит музыка. Начинается бал, выходят король, королева, принц, гости.)

Queen (обращается к гостям): The ball is on. Let’s dance and play.

King (обращается к гостям): Let’s have a lot of fun today!

(Звучит музыка. Появляется Золушка в бальном платье. Все смотрят на нее с


восхищением.)
Queen (обращается к королю): Look at that girl!

King (восхищенно): She’s so nice and slim!

Prince (подходит к Золушке): Hello! Let’s dance! You are my dream!

(Звучит музыка. Принц и Золушка танцуют. Часы бьют 12.)

Cinderella (испуганно): It’s twelve o’clock and I must run. Bye-bye. I had a lot of fun
(Убегает, теряя одну туфельку)!

IV

(Утро. Звучит музыка. Приехали принц со стражей. Мачеха с дочерьми


встречают гостей. Золушка накрывает на стол.)

Prince (обращается к мачехе и дочери): We know you were at the ball. Try on this
shoe.

Stepsister (раздраженно): Oh, it’s very small!!!

Prince (заметив Золушку): But who is that girl? Come here, please! Try on this shoe,
pretty Miss!

Stepmother (возмущенно): But she didn’t go to the ball!!!

Father (принцу): Give her the shoe! Her foot is small.

Prince (встает на одно колено перед Золушкой): I’m happy that I’ve found you! I
love you, and I’d like to marry you.

Cinderella (радостно): Oh, yes, my Prince, I love you too.

(Звучит музыка. Все персонажи сказки выходят на поклон.)
