 Chapter I: Introduction

Domex Ultra Thick Bleach

Domex is one of the product manufactured by famous company

around the world the Unilever. It was produced by a dentist Wilfrid

Augustine Handley in 1929 and sold door to door in United Kingdom.

Domex was introduced in the Philippines in 2002, through short-live

campaign featured by an artist in an advertisement who looking for the

solution for her obsession with cleanliness. The Domex Ultra Thick Bleach

active ingredient is Sodium Hypochlorite a compound that can be

effectively used for water purification. It is used on a large scale for surface

purification, bleaching, odor, removal and water disinfection. The Domex

Ultra Thick Bleach was well-known as a powerful germ-kill expert that

provide wider surface protecti on and prevent multiplying of germs

afterwards.
Local Ultra Cleaner

This Local Ultra Cleaner is one of the home grown product that sold

in the Philippines. It was the common toilet bowl cleaner or any parts of a

household that can avail in hardware or market. A highly concentrated

cleaning agents that eliminate stains, scum, and decomposing organic

matter. It is disinfectant kills germs and eliminate odor causing bacteria. It

is anti- corrosive agent is tough on germs yet gentle to enamel and pipes.

Leaves a fresh, clean and minty scent. The following is the ingredients of

this product: Hydrogen chloride, Nonoxynol-10, Anti-corrosive agent,

Phonolites, Perfume in aqueous vehicle.

 Chapter II: Hypothesis

a. Null Hypothesis

There is no significant difference between Domex Ultra Thick Bleach

and Local Ultra Cleaner in terms of quality and efficacy as a toilet cleaner.

b. Alternative Hypothesis

There is a significant difference between Domex Ultra Thick Bleach and

Local Ultra Cleaner in terms of quality and efficacy as a toilet cleaner.

Chapter III: Experimentation

The bleach products Domex Ultra Thick Bleach and Local Ultra

Cleaner will be tested according to its quality and its efficacy as a toilet

cleaner. The product analyzers will conduct the following; odor, physical

observation of consistency and color, and using it as a toilet cleaner and

cleaning moss in the surfaces.

 a. Quality

To test the quality of odor, it was tasted by the analyzers more than 3
times to determine the distinct odor of the products. Physical observation is
done to determine the color and consistency.

b. As toilet cleaner

The analyzers used the same amount and method. Observations

were done on the toilet including, physical observation and odor test.

The Domex Ultra Thick Bleach gives thicker color and good smell. It

stays at the surface and later mixed with the water.

Using Local Ultra Cleaner in the toilet it gives thin color and strong

smell. It easily falls down on the water and little mark left of the surface of

the toilet.

 Chapter IV: Conclusion

Based on the experimentation it can be concluded that the different

bleach products have significant difference in the quality of odor, color

consistency, and have a significant difference in efficacy as toilet cleaner.

Both of the bleach are can remove dirt and have the same

consistency. The products only differ in its smell and effect on the surface

used.

In addition, it can be concluded that Domex Ultra Thick Bleach was a

good factor in cleaning the toilet bowl and stainless drainage, because it

removes the dirt evidently, gives a good odor, and assured that the

thickness in texture stay on the surface and clean it profoundly. In the other

hand, Local Ultra leaner also can remove the dirt but not deeply, moreover,

it gives a strong odor that hurtful for the nose and eyes. Lastly, when it

places on the stainless, leave a black mark that even you scratch it can not

remove.
 According to ingredients present, it can be concluded that Domex

Ultra Thick Bleach is effective and healthier than Local Ultra Cleaner

because Domex has Sodium Hypochlorite that advisable by many expert

on cleaning the toilet surfaces and proven in proper process of

experimentation, while Local Ultra Cleaner are not and its ingredients are

not familiar and too much for certain toilet cleaner.

Chapter V: Recommendation

After the analysis of the results and making of conclusion the product

analyzers recommended the following;

1. When it comes to cleaning toilet surfaces, Domex Ultra Thick Bleach

is highly recommended to use, because it gives assurance on evident

sanitary and a decent smell for the entire comfort room. Additionally, its

price is affordable, because they produced new pack size, Domex Toilet

Bowl Cleaner 30ml Sachet to assure more Filipinos could afford to ensure

safety from germs and from the threats that dirty toilet bowls pose to their

health.
