1. Differentiate moral from non-moral standards.

- Moral standards are the product of conventions and values. These are guidelines that
individuals hold about what behaviors they feel are ethically right and bad. In addition to the
values people place on the kind of items they consider morally good and morally evil. These are
the standards that individuals or groups have regarding the kind of behaviors that are morally
proper or wrong, as well as the values that people hold and what they consider to be morally
good or morally evil. While non-moral norms are regulations that have nothing to do with moral
or ethical issues. These criteria are either unrelated to morality or, by definition, lack ethical
meaning. Etiquette norms, fashion standards, gaming rules, and different home rules are all
instances of non-moral standards.
2. What is dilemma and moral dilemma?
Dilemma is a problem that arises during the decision-making process when there are two viable
alternatives, neither of which is completely acceptable from an ethical standpoint.
Moral dilemma is a scenario in which a person is torn between right and wrong and examines
the very heart of a person's ideas and values. These are frequently used in psychology and
philosophy lectures to help students think through the reasons behind their beliefs and behaviors.
3. Identify (3) moral dilemma you had from past experiences.
- Choosing to stay here in our house together with my mother rather than going outside doing
what I want.
- I can’t say no to people. When every time my classmate ask me a favor and I can’t say no to it
when every time I say no to someone who wants my help my conscience always pops up saying
that I am bad so I always help people.
- I just want to share my mother’s story wherein my mom gave my dad a choice whether he will
stay or find a new wife the reason is my mom after they got married after 7 years still they can’t
create a baby the my mom said to my father leave me and find a woman that can give you a
son/daughter but then he stayed and here I am now They already have a son and I am now 20
years old.
