Multi-language skill

Multi- Language skills can be a significant advantage that sets you apart from your peers.
Learning another language can be especially helpful to build communication skills. Lots of
professional careers like business and sales managers involve speaking to people from not only
in their country, but to people around the world. Making an effort to learn another language so
you can speak to others will truly benefit you in the long run especially when you want to apply
for a job after you are graduated. Nowadays, mostly companies or employers seeking for
employees who have ability in different languages so that they can easily communicate with
customers in new and expanding overseas markets. So, as a student, we should prepare
ourselves by learning other foreign languages besides Malay and English. Some of the foreign
languages that we can learn are Mandarin, Korean and Japanese. There are a lot of websites
and applications that can help us in mastering foreign languages such as Duolingo and Hello
Talk. These applications surely make us more eager in learning new language as there are
features that can interest you like games and quizzes.

Basic computer skills

This is another skill that will help students whether in the university or workforce when they are
graduated soon. This is because nowadays IT is very important and mostly the employers
expect their workers to have some basic knowledge about computer like of Microsoft Office
programs such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Therefore, students who master in these
Microsoft programme will make them more advantageous compared to others. Not only does
computer literacy help in applying for jobs, but it may help students during their studies.
Certain computer programmes also help students to organize their thoughts and perform tasks
more efficiently. As an example, Microsft PowerPoint very useful for students if they have to do
presentation. With PP, we can put together slideshow presentations to present our ideas in a
very visual and concise manner. Next is Microsoft Excel that Microsoft Excel is used to compile
large amounts of data into organised spreadsheets. It can even apply a large number of
mathematical equations to the data you plug in. Excel is used in a very wide range of careers
and industries. Being literate in Excel will be an advantage to you in almost any career.

Communication skills

All students must be able to communicate effectively with their parents, teachers and friends to
build good relationships. Students will need to understand how to face people and
communicate with them because there are various types of characters in people; some who are
more aggressive, some who are more sensitive. Besides, we should always respect others &
listen to what they’re saying or what they want to say. Being respectful is just like paying
attention to what other is saying, by this, the other one feels greatly appreciated, which leads
to a and effective communication. So, if we have good communication skill, we can easily
interact with one another. Individuals who are friendly and are comfortable around new people
are more likely to adapt well to new environments in the future. A good way to meet new
people is to join different clubs and societies in school. There are a lots of events and club in
universities that we can join in order to improve our communication skill.
