Definition:

Questionnaire is a set of questions posed to the sample respondents either by researcher or


enumerators in order to get or obtain opinions/views/answers etc ( Primary Data);

Questionnaire –is a survey instrument, used in collecting primary data.

to fill and send it back to the researcher;
 putting questionnaire on website with a request to the sample respondents to fill and
submit electronically;

What factors should be taken into consideration while preparing a questionnaire. 

Besides factors mentioned above, followings have to be considered while preparing a


questionnaire:

I. The questionnaire should be precise, simple, logical , specific and free from ambiguity;
II. The question to be included should be made keeping in view of research
problem/research objective/research questions/research hypothesis;
III. The question to be made on data requirement;
IV. The question to be made should be relevant;
V. The question to be posed should be gender sensitive;
VI. The question should be put in the questionnaire systematically so that answer to one
question is automatically checked by the answer to another question;
VII. The word being used in the question should be simple and understandable;
VIII. The questionnaire should be arranged or organized professionally so that respondents
feel better to respond to your questions.

Preparation of a Questionnaire:

Research Objective:
Principal Objective: 

The principal or main or broad or primary objective of the study is to evaluate human
resource development practices of XYZ limited.

Specific Objectives: 

To accomplish the principal or main objective, following specific objectives have been
addressed or covered:

I. To analyze human resource development policy of XYZ Limited;   (Primary Data)


II. To examine the methods and methodology of training need assessment or workers
and staffs of the XYZ Limited; (Primary Data)
III. To examine the methods of selecting trainers and trainees; (Primary Data)
IV. To evaluate human resource development performance of XYZ Limited; (Secondary
Data)
V. To identify problems associated with the human resource development practices of
XYZ Limited. (primary data)
