Wheel Knuckle - All Wheel Drive (AWD)

Removal

NOTICE: Suspension fasteners are critical parts because they affect performance of vital components
and systems and their failure may result in major service expense. New parts must be installed with the
same part numbers or equivalent part, if replacement is necessary. Do not use a replacement part of
lesser quality or substitute design. Torque values must be used as specified during reassembly to make
sure of correct retention of these parts.

1. Remove the wheel bearing and wheel hub. Refer to Wheel Bearing and Wheel Hub - All Wheel Drive
(AWD) .

5. Relocate and support the component.

Installation

• Tighten to 115 Nm (85 lb-ft).

7. NOTICE: Tighten the suspension bushing fasteners with the suspension loaded or with the
weight of the vehicle resting on the wheels and tires, otherwise incorrect clamp load and
bushing damage may occur.

• Tighten to 115 Nm (85 lb-ft).

13. Check and, if necessary, align the rear end. Refer to Section 204-00 .

Removal

1. Remove the wheel bearing and wheel hub. Refer to Wheel Bearing and Wheel Hub - Front Wheel
Drive (FWD) .

2. Discard the specified component. Follow local disposal regulations.

bushing damage may occur.

• Tighten to 115 Nm (85 lb-ft).

11. Install the wheel bearing and wheel hub. Refer to Wheel Bearing and Wheel Hub - Front Wheel Drive
(FWD) .

12. Check and, if necessary, align the rear end. Refer to Section 204-00 .

Stabilizer Bar

Removal and Installation

NOTICE: Suspension fasteners are critical parts because they affect performance of vital components
and systems and their failure may result in major service expense. New parts must be installed with the
same part numbers or equivalent part, if replacement is necessary. Do not use a replacement part of
lesser quality or substitute design. Torque values must be used as specified during reassembly to make
sure of correct retention of these parts.

NOTICE: Do not use power tools to remove or install the stabilizer bar link nuts. Damage to the
stabilizer bar link ball joints and boots may occur.

NOTE: The stabilizer bar links are designed with low friction ball joints that have a low breakaway torque.

1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to Section 100-02 .

2. NOTE: Use the hex-holding feature to prevent the stud from turning while removing or installing the
nut.

Discard the specified component. Follow local disposal regulations.

• To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).

3. If equipped.
• To install, tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).

4. NOTE: Note the position of each component before removal.

Discard the specified component. Follow local disposal regulations.


• To install, tighten to 60 Nm (44 lb-ft).

5. NOTE: Note the position of each component before removal.

Installation

1. NOTE: Inspect and, if necessary, install new stabilizer bar bushings.

NOTE: Make sure that the component is clean, free of foreign material and lubricant.

NOTE: Make sure that these components are installed to the noted removal position.

Visual inspect.
The bushing locator bump on both bushings must face the RH side of the vehicle.

2. On both sides.
General Equipment: Hydraulic Press.
3. NOTE: Make sure that the clamp is installed to the same orientation as when removed.

4. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Stabilizer Bar Link

Removal

NOTE: The subframe assembly must be lowered approximately 65 mm (2.559 in) to gain access to the front
lower control arm inboard bolt.

1. Remove the wheel and tire. Refer to Section 204-04A .

2. On both sides.
Discard the specified component. Follow local disposal regulations.

• To install, tighten to 115 Nm (85 lb-ft).

Removal

1. Remove the spring. Refer to Spring .

2. Marker.

Installation

1. NOTE: Line up marks made during removal.

NOTE: Only tighten finger tight at this stage.


2. Install the spring. Refer to Spring .

3. Visual check.
• NOTICE: Tighten the suspension bushing fasteners with the suspension loaded or with
the weight of the vehicle resting on the wheels and tires, otherwise incorrect clamp load
and bushing damage may occur.

To install, tighten to 90 Nm (66 lb-ft).

4. Check and, if necessary, adjust the rear toe. Refer to Section 204-00 .

Wheel Bearing and Wheel Hub - Front Wheel Drive (FWD)

Removal

4. General Equipment: Wheel Hub Remover.

5. Discard the specified component. Follow local disposal regulations.


Installation

1. • Tighten to 110 Nm (81 lb-ft).

3. Install the brake disc. Refer to Section 206-04 .

4. • Tighten to 133 Nm (98 lb-ft).


5. Install the wheel and tire. Refer to Section 204-04A .

Wheel Studs

Removal

NOTE: Wheel studs are not serviceable separately. Wheel bearing and wheel hub assembly must be replaced.

1. Remove the wheel bearing and hub. Refer to Wheel Bearing and Wheel Hub - All Wheel Drive
(AWD) or Wheel Bearing and Wheel Hub - Front Wheel Drive (FWD) in this section.

Installation

NOTE: Wheel studs are not serviceable separately. Wheel bearing and wheel hub assembly must be replaced.

1. Install the wheel bearing and hub. Refer to Wheel Bearing and Wheel Hub - All Wheel Drive (AWD)
or Wheel Bearing and Wheel Hub - Front Wheel Drive (FWD) in this section.
