Objectives:
1. Discuss how the ideas postulated by Copernicus, Darwin, and Freud contributed to the spark
of scientific revolution;
2. analyze how scientific revolution is done in various parts of the world like in Latin America,
East America, East Asia, Middle East, and Africa.
3. discuss the concept of science education;
4. identify science schools established to promote science education in the Philippines.

1. What contribution did Copernicus make to the philosophy of Science? Support your answer
with an existing article. Cite your source/s.
Ans; Nicolas Copernicus was a polish astronomer known as the father of modern astronomy
He was the first modern european scientist to propose that earth and other planets
revovle around the sun,or the heliocentric theory of the universe here are the books he
written; De revolutionibus orbium coelestium libri vi,Commentarioslus.

2. How may Darwin’s evolutionary theory impact the following field in the modern times:
Economy, Agriculture, Political Science, and Religion. Support your answer with an existing
article. Cite your source/s.
ANS; First of all, Darwin’s theory is a bit old. 160 years or so. It has been supplemented and
improved since with understanding of heredity and genes, DNA and the mechanisms invovled
there, geneme mapping and so on, so the question is bit like asking how steam power has
influenced modern railways,that said the theory of evolution is the basis for modern biology,so
everything that has anything to do with biology is affected.

3. How can you describe Freudian ideas as a scientist? (Read more about Sigmund Freud’s
contributions)

ANS; What I think about freud is about as relevant as what aristotle would have thought about
him,scientist do not used the scientific method when dealing with subject outside their
scientific remit.scientist are not renowned for their appreciation of psychological issue indeed
of any other issues other than those that they study.

1. What role did society play in shaping science, and what role did science play in shaping
society?
I’d say the inter-dependent nature of humans created a wolf pack type society which led to the
need to maanipulate tools and fire, so then it was back forth

2. What are the significant contributions of the Spaniards and Americans to the development of
science and technology in the Philippines?
Basically,the spaniards contibuted education,church,christianity(religion) governance to native
filipinos the americans contibuted alot to filipinos,they contibuted;weaponry,books,modern
influence,law,education,infrastructure and many more.

3. Do you believe that, given the current status of our society, people's science literacy has
helped to the growth of our economy? Explain your answer.

Human intelligence contributed to the growth of the economy your scientific thinking abilities
are the human intelligence thinking technology which is the key natural resources of the
economy.apple,amazon,microsoft are on the top of the world because of their innovation
products and they operate on the infinity spectrumof technology and penetration in the
consumer heart.

Exercise 3: Science Education in the Philippines

1. Are there private schools with outstanding science education programs? Identify and
compare their science education programs with public science schools.

ANS;Yes, the average private schools has the far better science department than average public
school.that being said,schools like thomas jefferson in northern virginia and other STEM
schools will wipe the floor with probably all science department at private schools.

2. What other government projects and programs are available for science education in the
Philippines?

ANS;S&T scholarship under R.A 7687 or S&T scholarship act of 1994 (S&T scholarship program A)
DOST-SEI Merit scholarship (Formely project 5801 or S&T scholarship program B) .
Junior Level assistance programs(JLAP).
BS scholarship in science education.
S&T Human resources Development planning.
