VII. RECOMMENDATION: THE BEST ALTERNATIVE TO THE PROBLEM:
Mely Reyes is clearly in a toxic workplace. But as a fresh graduate, although with a bachelor's
degree in business, she's in a tight spot and doesn't had a lot of options so that is why she is
forcing herself to work with obnoxious seniors and higher ups. This is a major problem of fresh
graduates here in PH because most employers demand at least a year or two of experience,
thus desperate job seekers would accept any job that is available to fulfill/cover the experience
needed on the resume on their desired job. Even if it means that the workplace they'll be
working in is toxic and unbearable, and that the income they'll be paid is insufficient to
compensate for the work you exchanged. So, if I were to give Mely Reyes advice as a friend, I
would encourage her to quit her job and apply to a different company where she is best
qualified, has a healthy workplace, and colleagues and managers that can train her while
improving her work ethic.
