PRODUCTS/ SERVICES AND INDUSTRY PROFILE

A. Products/Services

The business will be a food delivery service which delivers customers food request from different

food establishments present in the locality. The service will be available from 8:00 am to 10 pm exclusive

for the residents of Claver.

The service will work through the interaction of the customer and employees via online website and

contact number intended for receiving food orders. Generally, a customer begins by searching for desired

food establishment and selecting the food items from different menus then employees will order and

deliver the food item at the customer’s location.

Customers can only order multiple items from the same food establishment but they cannot order

from multiple food businesses. However, if a customer wants food from multiple food establishments,

they can order items from another food business while the current order is being prepared and deliver.

The service will deliver food orders within an hour at minimum order of Php 100. The payment of the

orders will be cash on delivery which means that food purchase will be paid by the delivery employee

temporarily. Applicable fees will be charged for each customer’s food order.

Ordered food such as fast food, beverages, or actual meals which is available in the local food market will

be delivered through a delivery motorcycle or delivery bicycle depending on the distance of the

customers’ location. The delivery vehicles will be equipped with insulated food compartments to preserve

the quality of food.

The proponents make sure that the service to be offered will not pose any harm to the customers

and the environment. Sending information of the delivery men towards the customers’ mobile phone to
secure their safety is being prioritized. Furthermore, the delivering motorcycle with environmentally

friendly engines is being encouraged to comply with the Philippine Clean Air Act.

B. Industry Profile

The group will engage in a food delivery industry. This will help busy citizens to save up time

and effort in going such distance to buy food from local food establishments. According to Martha Jean

Sanchez (2019), in year 2017, the number of Smartphone users in the Philippines is estimated to reach

30.4 million. This would mean that around 32 percent of the population in the country would use

Smartphone. Choosing and delivering food online is one of the favorite thing urban citizen do with their

smart phones. In fact, almost eight million Filipinos used the food delivery services at least once in 2018

(Iceal Peñalosa,2018).

According to Roopana (2019), people admire online food delivery services because of its

simplicity and transparency. People decide what they order, where they order, how they pay and when to

deliver. The online menu provides an option for the user to select various restaurants. Customers can also

compare prices for a similar food item. As a result, online food delivery business is reaching its peak in

recent years.

There are many different ways to earn money with Online Food Delivery Industry. Services can

charge a fee to the restaurants which the business will be representing. Generally, the more a restaurant

pays the better its positioning on your platform. However, positioning is also affected by the customer

reviews. It can also charge customers with delivery fee or convenience charges. Also, it can place ads on

the food establishments that will help the entrepreneurs to generate extra money.

The proposed venture is new to the area because it is not yet present in the Municipality of

Claver. Since there are less than 20 food establishments that is located in the municipalities but do not
offer food delivery, the food delivery can become a hit when it comes to effortlessly ordering food from

favorites café.

distributed 395 questionnaires from different 14 Barangays of the Municipality. The respondents

of the survey conducted includes students, employed and unemployed of the population.

Sampling method was used in getting the number of respondents in the Municipality of Claver.

(Stratified random sampling is the process of grouping members of the population into relatively

homogenous subgroups before sampling.)

1.a Target Market

The Clavernon constituents who wanted to order food through mobile

phones or computers. On the survey, it shows that there are is 92.66% in the total percent of the

respondents who likes to order food using smartphones and computer. And the reason behind this

high percentage is that they consider food delivery service as an option to help them save their

time and effort in ordering food from local food businesses.

present in the Municipality. In fact, Crave N’ Click is connected to all other food businesses

delivery bag to preserve the right temperature for a specific food item. The proponents decided

will cater the needs in response to the demand of the market. They believe that the proposed

business can get a market share if launched in the market.

C. Marketing Program

1. Service Offering

2 Types of Delivery Vehicle

Thermal Insulated Delivery Bag

Official Uniform of Staffs and Delivery Men

2. Pricing

In pricing the service to be offered, the proponents decided to use two types of pricing strategy

namely: value-added pricing strategy and zone pricing.

2.a Value-added pricing Strategy

In value-added pricing strategy, the service will earn its revenues from the food establishments

that supply the food to them. In return the proponents will set a minimum purchase quantity that the

consumers have to buy from that particular food establishment. Since the food delivery service is

increasing the sales of its suppliers it charges more from them and thus value-added pricing is used over

here

Food Establishment Commission:

Crave N’ Click will charges a commission from restaurants on every food order that they receive through

Crave N’ Click platform. This commission is 15%, inclusive of all taxes.

2.b Zone Pricing Strategy

Using the zone pricing the proponents will set additional charges to some of the 14 barangays of

the municipality aside from the delivery charges. For instance, if the location is within the zone were most

food establishment are located then the customer is placed with only the delivery charges, but if the

customer orders from a different zone than that of the zone were only delivery charge is placed then

additional charges will be added depending on the distance travelled.

Fixed Delivery Fee: ₱15.00

Service Fee: 5% from the total food bill

CHAPTER VII

SIGNIFICANT RISK

This chapter explains the significant risk and factors that might be encountered during the venture

of the business.

A. Internal Risk

The business will open daily from Monday to Sunday hence; health problems and emergencies is

inevitable as well all deals with daily living. If this may occur, the delay of services might also arrives. To

avoid this, problem there would be a substitute member and taking turns of responsibilities so that the

operation of the business will be as smooth and fast.

Other problem maybe conflict of time and availability of the delivery boy because of too much

order. In order to prevent and avoid this case, manager and even order keeper must have the simultaneous

coordination and planning to keep on track and serve as soon as possible the desired order.

External Risk

Problems that may arise outside the business operation will be considered external risk. Problems

like complains and reaction is one of external problems. To avoid this instances, delivery boy and order

keeper must coordinate, be responsible and courteous in dealing different customers.

Another possible risk are the connection of internet, rainy days and bike or motorcycle defect. To

prevent this instances, the management should be able to give another outlet for communication in taking

costumers for example, giving them a multiple phone numbers. Delivery men should also bring their

raincoats every day to keep them on rainy days and also bring their monthly maintenance and repair tools

for their bike and motorcycles used in delivery. Management should allocate enough money for the

possible instances.
