Quinoa (Chenopodium quinoa Willd) is a plant which was
domesticated thousands of years ago by people living nearby
Titicaca lake and then spread into the Andean región of America.

Nowadays it is already a widespread crop almost worldwide, with a

stronger boost since 2013 has been declared as Quinoa International
Year. Highly regarded for its high nutritional value and capacity to
adapt to different ecosystems, requiring for its production not only
genetic material but also the production complex structure
conformation, such as research, production, agro-industry and
marketing of quinoa grains.

It creates opportunities for new entrepreneurs, who, together with

traditional producers from andean countries, supply and demand
products and services contributing to the quinoa production value
chain worldwide.

 We present the first publication of the QUINOA INTERNATIONAL DIRECTORY - 2021
versión, it is a consultation tool, a digital document that compiles the contact references of
the main stakeholders of the quinoa production complex from different countries, such as
quinoa producers, quinoa producers associations, companies that industrialize and
commercialize quinoa, companies that offer products and services for production and
industrialization, as well as professionals dedicated to quinoa research and institutions
supporting production.

The document is organized in 5 Sections: Quinoa producers, Producers associations,

Companies, Professionals and Institutions presented in alphabetical order with the
identification of country where they are located. The QID is a digital publication, which will
be promoted on social networks, linked to other virtual spaces that promote quinoa.

After several years carrying out activities promoting the consumption and production of
quinoa internationally (7 de Julio Día Internacional del Consumo de la Quinua), now we
present this digital document, hoping that it will be useful and allow a rapprochement
between users.
