2) the number of teenagers

engaged in the smoking of marijuana has greatly increased, which
can result in many negative health issues. 3) As president of an
anti-smoking campaign, I have been asked to prepare a
presentation on the negative effects of smoking, targeting a group
of Form 3 students. In order for this message to be transmitted
effectively, the following must be conceptualized and considered:
1) suitable and effective technology to be used, 2) appropriate
language and speech, and 3) effective strategies used to enhance
the message.

1)Primarily, 2) in order to effectively communicate the message of

the negative impacts of smoking marijuana, a dramatic
presentation, in the form of a play will be performed to
strengthen the impact on the students. 3) The use of a dramatic
presentation allows the audience to receive a very interactive
demonstration , therefore keeping them engaged and aiding them
in understanding the topic to a greater extent. The actors in this
play will encode the message of the effects of the misuse of
marijuana, using jargons, slangs, humor and gestures which can
be easily understood by the intended audience and emotions can
be evoked. 4)Therefore, by sensitizing students on the topic, they
can be inspired to make better choices for their health.
 1) Furthermore, 2) the use of digital technology such as a
power point, may be an effective strategy in transmission of
the message of the negative effects of the abuse of alcohol
and drugs, since graphics and visual aids can be used to
capture the attention of the students. 3) In conceptualizing
this power point presentation, the message to be sent can
be incorporated using pictures, videos or music thus making
it more engaging for the students which allows them to
interpret the message much easier. 4) To illustrate the
negative effects of the abuse of alcohol and drugs,
humorous memes can be shown which will capture the
attention of students as they laugh along. Videos containing
popular or trending songs as background music can be
shown illustrating many of the ways in which drugs and
alcohol can affect someone’s life. This allows the
presentation to become interactive as students may sing
along. 5) Hence by utilizing the digital technology in the form
of a power point, the message of the negative effects of
alcohol and drugs on students’ lives, can be transmitted
effectively.

form of digital technology, as this is a platform used by many
teenagers, therefore, it can capture their attention. 3) The
negative effects of alcohol and drug abuse on students’ lives can
be encoded using social media, which allows them to become
more educated on the topic. 4) For example a competition such
as creating an online poster about the negative impacts of
alcohol and drugs, can be hosted using any social media
platform where there is a winning prize involved. During the
speech, details about the competition can be disclosed to
students, including the name of the social media page. This
keeps the students fully engaged and excited thus, making the
message easier to understand. 5) As a result, the digital
technology of social media, can be used as an effective strategy
to transmit the message to the target audience.
