CONTRASTING LOCAL CULTURES
We are going to compare the Nukak indigenous community with the Caleña community , we attach
images of both communities.
NUKAK
NUMBER OF INHABITANTS 1.930
LOCATION They are located in the northwest
of the Amazon
IDIOM They speak a tonal language,
which is part of the Makú-Puinave
family, and is closely related to the
language of the Kãkwã
LIFESTYLE They were hunter-gatherers
and lived in small groups of
between nine and thirty people
deep in the jungle and far from
rivers. Today most of them live
in fixed settlements of
approximately eighty people
and they mobilize according to
their kinship relationships.

Caleños are people very attached to
their culture, most of their time is
dedicated to work in organizations
and according to statistics,
fatherhood begins from a very early
age, it is also a very salsa community
