Banatao is credited for devising a
more efficient way to link computers, by simplifying the computer design with fewer chips, that has made computers smaller, more portable and more affordable. Banatao designed the first single-chip graphical user interface accelerator that made computers work a lot faster, 16-bit microprocessor-based calculator and in 1981, He developed the first 10-Mbit Ethernet CMOS with silicon coupler data-link control and transceiver chip. He was also credited for the first system logic chip set for IBM's PC-XT and PC-AT.
