20 - O-ring
Remove planetary carrier (1) and place it on a workbench. Remove O-ring (20) from
the wheel hub.

8 - Planetary gear
9 - Snap ring
13 - Ring (20.11 and G20.09 axles only)
15 - Plate (20.16 and G20.16 axles only)
Mark the position of the planetary gears on the planetary carrier for re-assembly.
Remove snap rings (9) and thrust washers (6). On 20.16 and G20.16 axles, remove the plate
(15). Remove planetary gears (8).
NOTE:
Tie planetary gears, needle bearings and plates together to ensure that
the sets are not mixed up when re-assembling. If one part is damaged
always replace the entire assembly (planetary gear, needle bearing and, if
applicable, pin). If gear teeth are damaged, the teeth of the ring gear
must be checked.
Check needle bearings, pins and planetary gears for damage and signs of wear and replace
if necessary.

Remove ring gear (3) together with the ring gear carrier and spacer bushing (2).
NOTE:
Spacer bushing (2) is used with 00.16 axles only.

Remove snap ring (6) and separate ring gear carrier (5) and ring gear (3). Inspect all the
parts for damage and signs of wear, and replace if necessary.
NOTE:
On 20.09, 20.11, 20.16, G20.16 and G20.09 axles, if required
remove bushings (11) from ring gear carrier (17) using hammer
and special tool.
