Dear colleagues:

Introduction:

Following the recent meeting held at MOHW HQ on 2 nd Nov 2021, it was proposed that Jeetoo
Hospital will be the plan B in case ENT hospital cannot cope with the increasing demands for
Covid +ve patient requiring ventilation and High oxygen supply. The Oxygen production by
Oxygen concentrators at ENT Hosp has already exceeded it capacity. Jeetoo Hospital has been
chosen as Plan B based on its ability to use Liquified Oxygen instead of Conventional
compressed Oxygen Cylinders which mean a higher storage capacity of Oxygen.

In view of above the following action plan is being put in place to cope with above:

1. All Elective surgeries including other procedures will temporarily stop till further notice.

2. LO ward and Neuro ICU will be equipped with additional Ventilators under the
supervision of Dr Mankee CiC Anesthesia Dept. Appropriate Logistics will be organized
to support same.

3. All CICs and sp on call of Respective units are requested to optimise discharges across
the board.

4. Casualty officers are requested to admit cases diligently due to acute shortage of bed.

5. All psychiatric cases will be diverted to BSMCC except those needing medical specialist
Intervention directly.

6. Stable Covid negative medical cases may be shifted temporarily to BSMCC depending
the approval of MOWHQ to improve bed availability at Jeetoo Hospital.
 7. Medical staff (Both Doctors /nurses and other support staff) will be mobilised to
support this process -inter departments and inter Hospitals

8. Backup doctors from Internal medicine like/ sub branches will be called upon to back
up Internal Medicine department depending on evolution of situation and namely:

a. Cardiology
b. Chest physician 2nd sp
c. Neurology
d. Gastroenterology
e. Nephrology
f. Physical Medicine
g. Pediatric
h. Psychiatry

9. A CME is scheduled for Friday 5 th Nov 2021 in the conference room of Jeetoo Hospital
at 2.00pm – RX and preparedness plan for Jeetoo Hospital as Covid Treatment Centre
by Dr Doobaree and Dr Joomun -under the Guidance of Dr Nuckchady/Dr Catherine
Gaud (To be confirmed)

10.The fact that Jeetoo hospital is in densely populated region, both physical and sanitary
Security inside and around Jeetoo Hospital need to be enhanced and extremely
rigorous at par with ENT Hospital.

11.All Medical/Nursing/paramedical and support staff are request to contribute to above

mission and are invited to suggest any proposal that they feel may enhance the service
delivery more efficiently and effectively.
