1. What are the factors that you consider in identifying the nature of authority in the
hunting and gathering, horticultural, pastoral, agricultural, industrial, and post-industrial
society? Briefly explain.

The factors that I consider on their nature of authority were on the roles
performed by men and women. In the hunting and food gathering men would travel to
hunt larger animals while women hunt small animals and raised their children based on
that they are socially equal and no one is prioritizing. In horticultural it clearly states there
that the mother is the head of the household and has the power in the position to decide.
In pastoral, men have the power to decide what would be the decision to follow. In
agricultural it is Patriarchal meaning males have a primary power in the position because
if women provide lesser food they became in lower position same in as industrial. The
post-industrial both men and women can provide for their family and that can be
consider as equalitarian.

2. Describe the roles performed by men and women in each type of society. (at least six
sentences)

The roles in hunting and food gathering of men are to hunt large animals to
provide the food for his family, while women are the ones who would take good care of
their children. In horticultural the women are the ones to decide to move in a new place
or land if the soil is not good enough for farming for providing foods. In pastoral, women
are typically responsible for milking and dairy processing and men are responsible for
herding or bringing individual animals into a group and selling meat animals. In
agricultural women is in charge of the household chores, and men are responsible in all
farming and has a higher roles in the community and should respect them. In industrial,
women are tending to leave their position to work and stayed at home for their family
while men will go off to war and work according with their careers. And the post-
industrial, both men and women are employed to provide for their family but there is still
gender stereotype for women. Women can work that belongs to them like teachers and
nurses.
3. Using your everyday personal experiences, describe your sense of being a male or
female. (at least six sentences)

I’m the eldest daughter of my parents so being an eldest it’s important for them
that I’m going to guide my younger siblings. In my everyday personal experiences, I’m in
charge in household chores like cooking and cleaning the house because my parents
are both working. Our parents are teaching us to do both jobs of boys and girls so that
when they’re not around we can handle it alone. Being a female in our house is very
important because I know I’m the one who’s going to help my parents in terms of
household chores, when they arrived after work they are all tired so I’m here to do the
chores what my mother is doing. Maybe my sense of being a female is to relieve them.
Most especially my bestfriend, I am the only here to help her ease the pain and sadness
she’s experiencing right now.

4. Cite three examples of how you will avoid gender stereotype in your own home and
school.

The first example to avoid the gender stereotype at home and in school is be a
good example to your family by letting both genders to play and wear what they want.
Don’t assign them the color of the things based on their gender. Like for example, in the
family there is a new born baby girl you can dress her up in blue dress and buy her toys
she wants to play even if it is a gun or car. And in school, being a good examples to your
friends and classmates is by respecting them, do not judge them just support them.
Second, you have to speak up and break the gender stereotype at home and family. Do
not let other people control you on what you want, and don’t other people let to affect
you on what they say.

Lastly, allow both genders to express their full selves by encouraging speaking
on what and how they feel. Don’t let boys be boys, meaning don’t teach them to keep
their problems but instead teach them to express it same as girls did. And let the girls
build their leadership skill and self-confidence and let them explore it by their selves. Let
girls to encourage them lead in collaboration with diverse group of girls and expose them
in a wide range of leadership styles.
