We use Present Continuous for the

following purposes:
 To describe an action that takes place at the moment of
speaking.
 To describe an action that takes place at a period of time (to
stress that it is not a usual situation and in general things are
different).
 To describe our negative attitude towards an action.
 To describe future plans.
 To describe graphs (as the action is in process).
