IMPORTANCE OF QUADRATIC EQUATION
Quadratic Equations has numerous applications in real-life
setting or in the world beyond school. You cannot tell it now,
or you may not need it to know; however quadratic are used
to design in higher technologies to design safe and useful
products to people. The equation is used to find shapes,
circles, ellipses, parabolas, and more. It plays very important
role in the field. Sometimes people solve the equations but
they are not aware because it comes naturally. Each field that
includes the estimation of speed, calculating room areas or
figuring the profit has to involve quadratic equations. It can
be directly or by implication.

SOLVING QUADRATIC EQUATIONS BY FACTORING

When a quadratic equation is in a standard

form, it may be possible to solve it by factoring.
By setting each factor equal to 0 and resulting
the first-degree equations, we find the roots or
the solutions to the quadratic equations.
This is called the Principle of Zero Product.

Solve the following equation by
completing the square:
𝑥 + 8 𝑥 −20=0

Step 1: Move the constant term (i.e. 2

the number) to right side of the 𝑥 + 8 𝑥=20
equation

What do you think might be the difference of this lesson to
the previous lesson: square root method?
Who is your helper with this lesson? Did you work with
competence and diligence? Is it better to work as a group or an
individual?
In this lesson, it teaches you to find other ways if you don’t
have enough resources to get the solutions. Like with your
friends, siblings or classmates, it is more helpful to have
someone to correct your mistakes. And also, the more you
teach someone, the more you learn also.
