TO IMPROVE PROBLEM SOLVING SKILLS IN STRAIGHT LINE

INTRODUCTION
Based on observations during the teaching and learning process, I found that the majority of students are not proficient on
Straight Line topics. This topic is a topic tested in the SPM examination. In order to increase understanding of this topic, a robust
and interesting method is needed. In line with this, this study aims to find solutions to the problems of students who are less
proficient in solving the problem of straight line. Therefore, action planning is focused on improving skills using the 'i - Mek
Comel Ya' method. To realise the Malaysian Education Development Plan 2013 – 2025 which has placed STEM education as an
important agenda in education transformation, I have taken the initiative to complete this action study using the Google Sheets
platform and it can be accessed online. It uses simple technology that can be applied by all students using their respective mobile
phones. The results showed that this technique is simple and can improve the skills of solving straight line problems quickly and
accurately.
WHAT IS 'i - Mek Comel Ya’ ?
This i - Mek Comel Ya is the simplest and most interesting interactive e-learning method to understand and answer straight line
equation questions. One table is used that contains two rows and three columns. The column consists of M representing the
gradient, C represents the y-intercept, and Y represents the straight line equation y=mx+c.
