Students Satisfaction Scale of e-Bridge at Yogyakarta State University

● Introduction

There are drawbacks to distance courses that both instructors and learners see.
Students should be assisted in enhancing their learning readiness and independence
abilities through online learning (Mamora, 2020). Nevertheless, lectures are difficult to
be applied to help students develop their skills because they are unable to offer any
specific platform that correctly arranges the content and the assignment. The difficulties
that instructors and students have during the online learning process might be described
as this predicament. University attempted to lessen the difficulties by establishing an
online learning platform, or e-bridge. Yogyakarta State University specifically developed
Besmart as the e-bridge to assist the lecturer to operate the online learning process
successfully.

● The Survey Design

As aforementioned based on the introduction above, this survey investigates the
effectiveness of online learning namely e-Bridge specifically in Besmart UNY. The
participants of this survey are Yogyakatya State University Students. There were some
platforms that can be used in that college. This survey happened to know the results of
students’ perceptions of online learning. This survey was conducted through Google
Forms in distributing the questionnaire about the effectiveness of online learning. The
questionnaire consists of 29 items within the Likert Scale with five options per item from
1 (Never) to 5 (Always). Regarding the questionnaires that have been sent through google
from, the result is collected by the author to get information deeply about the
effectiveness of e-Bridge in UNY.

● Analysis of the Data

The result of this survey demonstrated four aspects namely transmission &
usability, teaching process, instructional content, interaction, and evaluation. The data
below report that; the total number of transmissions & usability was 265, the teaching
process was 308, instructional content was 171, and interaction and evaluation was 384.
The data is detailed below (figure 1):
The figure described that each aspect has been reported as a result of this survey.
The student’s identification of components in Interaction and evaluation was the highest
one. Then, the teaching process aspect is the second highest of students; identification,
transmission, and usability is the moderate level is the third aspect in students’
perception, and the last one is instructional context is the last part aspect in students’
identification.
It can be inferred from the data, the students felt quite satisfied with the online
learning within e-Bridge through the variety of platforms at Yogyakarta State University.

● Conclusion

Student satisfaction with online learning at UNY has a fairly satisfactory level so
they feel comfortable and calm, and follow the learning process during online learning.
Basically, this survey is only a survey, not equipped with personal perceptions, so this
survey is still numerical and does not fully support that students are satisfied with the
various online learning platforms at UNY.
