Answer:
1. The differences between the approaches of learning at high schools and at university have
several differences as bellow:
a. At school, students are more passive while teachers are more active. It means that the
students as a receivers of knowledge and the teachers as a provider knowledge.
a. Lectures
b. Seminars
d. Tutorials
e. On-line activities
f. Independent research
3. The students’ activity in the approaches are related to the individual and peers-group.
They will make a small or big group to discuss of something. Also, they given by lecturer
to solve a problem. First, in lecturer we are in a group of students listening to a member
or tutor giving an information. Second, in seminar we are in a big circle, the focus on a
particular issue to be discussed which given by a speaker. Third, Tutorial usually in small
circle. The focus of these meetings may be specific academic issues, for example,
feedback on an assignment, or they may be about more general matters such as module
choices, or a study tour. Four, Online activity usually provided by university to access a
range of computer-based learning packages, for example in statistics, and these are
available on the University computer system. Last, independent research University
studies involve independent study which is when you research and evaluate information
from a wide range of sources.
4. The differences between what I find in the text and what I knew so far are for the whole
of text in the chapter, I think it same as what I felt started from to study and now it also
same as before. We did the activities based on the rules of lecturer, we did the
assignment, we make a paper and also become a presenter if we join the seminar part. I
think, there was no a significance differences what I read from the chapter.

Yes, for me to be independent learner depends on the situation and condition maam,
Actually, I really love to learn independently because for me it’s really gave a freedom
to become more enjoy with something that we solve especially for subject which given
by an educator. From that, if it is there was a something that make me unclear, I will ask
further more to the teacher or lecturer. Also, sometimes I will do the clarification more to
ask my peer-group in giving that information. Overall, become an independent learner I
can manage my timeline and it’s depends someone.
