REFLECTION

First of all, thank you so much to my lovely lecturer Dr. Dra. Jamilah, M.Pd who has been
teaching us the subject of Higher Education Skills. May Allah always protect you in all
conditions Ma’am. Aamiin

1 What have you learned so far?

What I have learned in the subject of Higher Education Skills have a lot of information.
First, I learned about how to be a student in Higher Education with a lot of skills. From
this subject, I learned how can I manage my time to be a good person as a student. I can
organize my time better since my task or assignment have a lot from the lecturer with
different subjects. Here, I can make planning what I have going to do, and after that, I
can minimize with other subjects. This case is really important to me because it will
make my time not waste. Second, I learned how to get information in valid and reliable.
Lot of sources I can learn from such as libraries, the internet, from the lecturers. This
case will help me to be a good successful student in Higher Education. Thirdly, making
notes, referring make a note actually is really important as part of students. If I don’t do
that actually what I have learned before makes me forget, so it’s really important to me
to be aware in making notes, of everything that I learned, I do it. Third, the activity of
reading skills is important to me because I can’t write before reading. So, the habit of
reading activities should be usual for me, it also helps me to write academic writing as
well as my thesis later on. Fourth, I also learn about how to avoid plagiarism in our
writing academic. A lot of techniques I learn like how can paraphrase, how can cite from
 an article, and others. After knowing the issues above, I can also how to be a good
presenter. I can deliver my material or something that have I learned well. I can conclude
that knowing this subject is really helped me from nothing to something as a student in
Higher Education.

2 Do you find it useful for your study? Explain your answer.

Yes. It’s totally really useful and helpful for me in studying this subject. From the issues
that I have mentioned above this subject as helped me to increase my understanding of
learning as a second language learner of Higher Education.

3 What topics are important and what topics are not so important?

As far as I learned specifically in the book has already share Ma’am is really important
for me to increase my skills as a student in Higher Education.
Then, there was no the topic is not important, all in all, is a crucial thing for me.

4 What other topics do you want to learn in this course?

I think the most topic that should be improved in Higher Education is “Academic
Writing Activity”. From that program, I really hope that I and my friends can directly
practice with the lecturer during the learning process specifically in writing academic.
The lecturer can directly give us feedback, and something that useful for us to improve
our academic writing.

5 Do you like the learning strategies used in this course? Explain your answer.

As a preliminarily 1 semester. I enjoyed and had fun in this subject with the lecturer.
Unfortunately, we are just learning in an online meeting, which actually does not give us
more experience directly. We just interact in online meetings, not in real meetings means
face-to-face. The teaching strategies that the lecture gives to us are like independent
learning. So, the lecturer just gave us the material, and sometimes we discussed it
together. The rest are independent learners. But I think it doesn’t matter to me because I
like learning independently. But to make a deep understanding and lively this subject
 should be more attractive and more active during the learning process

6 Give some suggestions to improve this course.

There are some suggestions for this subject:

1. I do hope this subject will be an offline meeting
2. I do hope the lecturer gives us more time to discuss more and we make a
presentation
3. I do hope this subject is not only just focused on one book that the lecturer
gives, but we also analyze and discuss other books together.
4. I do hope the teaching and learning process is more active and enjoyable
5. I do hope the lecturer always gives us a lot of motivation for us how we
should improve ourselves as students of the foreign learner in higher
education.

All in all, thank you so much, Ma’am. You have done it well for us to improve ourselves be
better.
