PRE-IMMERSION WEBINAR TOPICS
Topic 1: DepEd Guidelines for Work Immersion
In reference with DM-CI-2020-
00085 entitled “Guidelines for Work
Immersion Implementation during
Crisis Situation” from the Office of the
Curriculum and Instruction (CI)
reiterating the basis for the Work Immersion of all Senior High Schools for the School Year
2021-2022. As stipulated in DepEd Order No.39, Series 2018 entitled Clarification and
Additional Information to DepEd Order No.30, Series 2017 (Guidelines on Work Immersion),
Work Immersion is a requirement for TVL Track.
One of the goals of the K to 12 Education Program is to develop in learners the
competencies, work ethics, and values relevant to pursuing further education and/or joining the
world of work. To achieve greater congruence with the basic education and the nation’s
development targets, Work Immersion, a required subject, has been integrated in the curriculum.
This subject will provide learners with the following opportunities:
1. to become familiar with the work place
2. for employment simulation
3. to apply their competencies in areas of specialization/applied subject’s in
authentic work environments
Topic 2: Workplace Ethics
Work Ethics is a group of moral
principles, standards of behavior, or set
of values regarding proper conduct in
the workplace. During this Work
Immersion, you will be deployed in a
certain institution or
company. It is necessary to know if your actions conform to the work ethics. You can ask
yourself: Do I show respect to everyone in the workplace? Am I becoming rude to others? or Did
I tell the truth about the problem?
There are many instances or stories you heard about employees being fired from a job or
work. What could be the reasons? These are some of them:
1. Noncompliance with the rules and regulations
2. Harassment to fellow employees
3. Theft or stealing
4. Utterance of offensive language
5. Negligence of the responsibility
6. Troublemakers or frequent cause of conflict
7. Grievous offenses
Topic 3: Memorandum of Agreement
In an effort to educate the Senior High
School students with the Work Immersion
Memorandum of Agreement, Cresenciano
V. Ventura, the Grade 12 Curriculum
Chairperson explained the guidelines,
information, and description of the Work
Immersion Program. She
emphasized that the Work Immersion Program is one of the primary goals of K to 12 Basic
Education, whereas students must develop the competencies, work ethics, and values relevant on
their respective field. Students were also reminded that the Work Immersion to be conducted is a
requirement for graduation from secondary education.
Topic 4: Resume and Credentials: Its Importance
To further educate students with
regard to resumé and credentials and its
importance, Mr. Erwin Mendoza conducted
a short talk in line with the pre-immersion
seminar. Students showcased their resumé
as sir Mendoza
told them to do so. Sir Mendoza started his talk with a glimpse of his past where he was still in a
corporate world. He described how hard it is to apply for a job — from preparing the resumé to
filling up application form until the interview. He then proceeds to teaching the students about
the technicalities and preparation of application letter.
Followed by emphasizing to students how essential it is to critically transfer information from
resumé to the application form. Mr. Mendoza pinpointed the importance of the credentials in
applying for a job and how it is properly prepared. He ended his talk with applaud from the
participative Technical Vocational Livelihood Track students.
Topic 5: Work Immersion Program
Senior High School Face to
Face students, who will soon be
deployed, filled with excitement as
the ICT - Work Immersion
Coordinator, Maria Fatima E. Valdez,
finally introduced the In- campus
Immersion schedule.
The In-campus Immersion is composed of 80 hours or eight hours per day in a week. The
resource speaker also said that the In-campus Immersion is slated to start on June 06 until June
13, 2022.
Moreover, as the Coordinator explained the Immersion with School Departments, Face to
Face students showed eagerness to immerse in the world of work. The immersion with particular
partner industries is also composed of 80 hours (eight hours per day) in two weeks. This is
scheduled to start on June 6 to June 13 ,2022 (depends on the circumstances).
VIRTUAL ATTENDANCE
JOB FAIR SIMULATION
Amid the Job Fair Simulation, Senior High School students identify factors that
facilitate in finding employment. The students work cooperatively to solve problems, create
their personal resumes, and reflect on their experiences with a job fair and resume writing.
Inside the room are the four standing employers who asked possible interview questions
that the future employees might encounter. Students, who applied for their particular jobs,
identify the emotional and logistical experience of employment, as well as, unemployment.
Because of their flowing confidence and structured answers, lot of Senior High School
students passed the interview.
The interviewers also noted that the Senior High School students taking TVL strand are
already prepared for their deployment in their respective job fields.
Through the simulation, the students involved learned how to write an effective resume,
learned different ideas to improve their personal future employment endeavors, and reflected on
the state of not being hired in their desired job.
ONLINE JOB INTERVIEW
With the assistance of Teachers and Master Teachers from other School, Online Job
interview was successfully conducted. Students attended virtual interview and actively answered
whatever questions given by the interviewer.
Overall with the Onsite and Online Job Fair Simulation, the Pre-Immersion successfully
done with the help of Work Immersion Team.
Sir Ventura, the Grade 12 Curriculum Chairperson stated by explaining and emphasizing
the importance of the work immersion and how will it be beneficial to students which the parents
agreed with.
After the onsite and online interview, teachers and Onsite Immersionists as well as with
the selected interviewers ended up by taking pictures as part of MOV’s.
