1. Who is the speaker? What is his or her credentials? 
Derek Sivers, who is an American writer and programmer. A former
entrepreneur and musician, he is best known for starting CD Baby.

● CD Baby became the largest seller of independent music on the web,


with over $100M in sales for over 150,000 musician clients.
● In 2013, Sivers launched Wood Egg which published guides doing
business in Asia.
● In 2015, he appeared in "Your Own Way Out", presenting the highs
and lows of the digital nomad movement.
● In 2021, Sivers published the book "How to Live: 27 conflicting
answers and one weird conclusion"
● Sivers has a chapter in Tim Ferriss' book Tools of Titans.

3. A TED talk often start with a story, a personal anecdote, a


shocking facts/figures, what does this talk contain? 

The art of presenting and telling stories through a video engages the audience very
well.
Video about a shirtless man, who was brave to stand alone and look ridiculous. He
made some freestyle dancing and it was attractive to everybody. Then, the first
follower with the crucial role, who publicly showed everyone how to follow. The
second follower, who made them become a crowd. After that, more and more
people joined with them.So, they were successful to get a movement.
4. What is the message or the take-away lesson from the
talk? 
The first person who wants to create a trend must be crazy, brave. The
leadership is over-glorified. However, the success of creating a trend often comes
down to the first follower, who can transform a lone nut into the leader. The first
follower is an underestimated form of leadership.
If you really care about starting a movement, how the courage to follow and
show others how to follow. And when you find a lone nut doing something great,
have the guts to be the first one to stand up and join in.
