Nine pencil and color pencil mixing techniques

Assignment 1:

Practice this part while watching this episode. Draw 9 equal squares each 15 x 15 cm. Divide the line into
three and then add another line
4.5 cm next to each line. Follow this part when watching the episode closely.

Then apply these techniques that you have learned in the episode

Square 1: Start with using one colour, from dark to light


Square 2: Layering with 2 pencils (pink and white)
Square 3: Pastel (powder) for the first layer then add one or two colour pencils (Orange + yellow)
Square 4: 2 blue colours (light and dark) and burnish with lighter blue
Square 5: Use charcoal and brush (For more pencil and charcoal techniques you can also visit this course:

Square 6: Pencil Hatching
Square 7: Use colour pencil, red and then use stump to blend the colour
Square 8: Using another colour pencil brand such as Derwent Coloursoft (Two colours, green and light
green)

Assignment 2:

Draw an apple and practice different combination of these textures


The apple sketch doesn’t need to be perfect, just warm up your hands and practice more.

Just colour your apple with all the textures that you have learned and warm up your hand movements.
