Mosques are a place for prayer. You can do following things there:

If you believe in God, pray to him. Ask him for guidance.

Listen to a sermon if its going on.

You can do Wudu  before prayer i.e cleaning yourself of any visible
impurities.

Go and greet the Imam , you can also ask him questions.

Listen to Adhan .

Do not disturb people who are busy in prayer by making noise.

Or simply go sit there, observe and feel.

May Allah bless you. :)

Outside a mosque, you should leave a well-worn hawai chappal, if it is anything else
you leave outside, you might not find it on your way back.
Inside it:
You can sit around, observe people. Talk to them, ask them questions about why they
come there, what makes them believe, how their faith fits in their life, what they do for
a living. Things they like or dislike about coming there or their religion. You can do
anything at all.
