Plain Paper Scanning with DMAC

Creating a Plain Paper test key


Start out by making a new answer key like you normally would

• To make a question with a numerical answer, simply type in a number


for the answer instead of a letter. DMAC will automatically put a
number grid for that question on the answer sheet
• The type of number grid that is used is based on the grade level of the
test that was selected in the Header tab
Preview and Approve Key
Any changes you make to the font or grid format will not be saved. This is
just a preview page to show what the final version will look like.

Please carefully read the popup that follows. You should not click the
continue button unless you are sure you won’t need to go back and change
your answer key.
Printing test forms
Print test form as you normally would using the Test Forms menu and
selecting the teacher(s) whose test forms you want to print.

click the Print Plain Paper Forms button

You can ignore the warning below. Just click outside the white box to make
it go away.

• If the print icon hides itself, move your mouse pointer to the area at the
top of the preview window and the menu bar should come back.
• After clicking print, make sure to select one of the Ricoh printers to
print to and do not print duplex or with staples (these are off by default
anyway)
Scanning Test Forms
• Use the Ricoh copier to scan the answer documents
• Make sure all answer documents are facing the same direction
• Remove any forms that are damaged or might clog up the feeder
• Lift the cover and make sure the scanner is empty

• The default setting will scan to a .PDF file, but for DMAC we must
change the format to .TIFF
• You can also give the file its own name
• The default filename is a list of numbers that represent the
date and time the scan was made

• The scan button is disabled until you select ALBScan on this page
• This tells the scanner where to send the scanned file
• The file will be saved into a folder called RicohScans on the
common drive
• You will still be able to scan if you didn’t change the format to TIFF
(Step 4), but you won’t be able to upload the file into DMAC

13. Press the physical Start button on the Ricoh copier to


begin scanning documents
14. If you have multiple sets of documents to scan, put
them in the feeder tray and press Start when the first set
are done
A new file will be created each time you Start a new batch

When you’re done scanning, be a friendly neighbor and put the machine back
into copy mode by pressing the Copy button on the left side of the keypad 

You don’t need to select the test key 8. Click Score All to

Successfully graded tests will receive a green check mark. Invalid tests
can be scanned again, but it may be faster to just hand grade them.

Test results can now be viewed in DMAC like you normally would
