Question 1

Yes, B12 deficiency is a problem and Mr. Jones should be concerned about that. Because

B12 deficiency could lead to a decrease in red blood cells which is called anemia (Langan &

Goodbred, 2017). His nervous system possibly will also get affected so supplements should be

provided to Mr. Jones for reducing the B12 deficiency. His vision may also get affected.

Question 2

The recommendation for Mr. Jones are Lamb Liver, Clams and Sardines.

1. Lamb livers have more nutrition’s than Beef liver and 3 ounce of lamb liver can give

3.5% Daily Value of vitamin B12 and can give 68.4 micro grams of vitamin

2. Clams are tiny shell fish that can give 14.0 micrograms of vitamins in 2.5 ounce of

quantity

3. Sardines are seawater fish that can give 6.7 micrograms of vitamins in 2.5 ounces of

quantity

Vitamins and minerals are important nutrients that a person require in some amount of

quantity to function properly (Godswill et al., 2020). A doctor will advise Mr. Jones to take items

that are rich in nutrients and vitamins like citrus fruit which is very rich in vitamins, Potatoes,

strawberries and green vegetables like broccoli.

Anticoagulants are advised for the patients that are suffering from heart diseases to avoid

the blood clots (Kozieł et al., 2019). High quantity of vitamin K and vitamin E hinder

anticoagulant drugs. So Mr. Jones should restrain from taking multi vitamins food and tablets so

that anticoagulants medication wouldn’t be affected.

Question 5

While taking anticoagulants, it is important to eat a healthy, balanced diet rich in fruits

and vegetables. However, if a person is taking warfarin, he should not change the amount of

green vegetables and cranberry juice you eat frequently. Avoid drastic changes in your intake of

foods and vitamins that contain vitamin K.
