The assignment aims to provide the insightful information about the team working in

nursing. It is important for health and social care sector all over the world to make better team

collaboration between their nurses. In this way, they can find the better solutions for their

patients. It is vital for nursing to present the team work in their health care center to better serve

the patients and taking their care in an effective manner. It is noted that team working is nursing

is vital for health care professionals and experts so that they can train newly hired nurses and

experience nurses can help them to cope with difficult situation in an effective manner. The

importance of team work in nursing is increasing day by day. Therefore, it is important for

researcher to find the importance of it for both nurses and patient. It is noted that nursing is vital

for health care center and they are the first person to interact with their customers. Therefore, it is

essential to make quality collaboration between nurses for tackling complex situations and

dealing with patients in an effective manner. The structure of the current assignment is that it

distributed into three parts introduction, main body and conclusion. The main part of the

assignment provides insightful information about the topic with the help of evidence-based and

effective studies.

Teamwork in Nursing

Teamwork is defined as two or more people who are dependent on each other for a

common goal and are committed to achieving measurable goals that promote leadership stability

and promote integrity. It is analysed that the integration of services among many healthcare

professionals is key to better care for children and communities with limited access to healthcare

(Anderson et al., 2019). When a team has clear goals and adheres to agreements and procedures,

the team performs better. It is also important to use meetings and other communication methods
to discuss patient outcomes, exchange information and discuss suggestions for improvement.

Teamwork and collaboration are especially important when providing services to healthcare

professionals with a distributed healthcare system (Choi, Kim and Kim, 2018). As the name

implies, healthcare is an interdisciplinary profession where doctors, nurses and healthcare

professionals from different area of experts often need to work together to share knowledge and

resources. The medical team is usually composed of different specialists and therefore team

working in nursing is essential. These professionals are known as healthcare professionals, each

with specialised knowledge and responsibility for different tasks. The creation of these

interdisciplinary teams is about solving health problems (Vassbø et al., 2019). A successful

healthcare team works hard to understand the patient's condition. The aging population and the

proliferation of chronic diseases such as diabetes, cancer and heart disease are forcing healthcare

professionals to take an interdisciplinary approach.

Medical teams have to care for patients with a variety of health problems. Countries are

improving access to health care for different groups of people. In the UK, the medical team is

trained not only in a deep understanding of the needs of patients, but also to understand local

community and different cultures (Wong et al., 2017). It is found that collaboration can reduce

medical errors and improve patient safety. Teamwork can also reduce the problems that lead to

burnout of the nurses and health care professionals. In recent years, a whole team of healthcare

professionals work together to coordinate patients' health. Medical teams help to break down the

hierarchy of healthcare institutions and direct their efforts and give healthcare professionals more

influence. Families sometimes feel more comfortable claiming to have received treatment and

are happier with their health. It has also been found that healthcare professionals are happier with

their jobs. According to the study of Hampton and El-Mallakh (2017) it is showed that nurses
who work successfully in teams are happier with their jobs. Teamwork and team training is now

considered an important part of job preparation. It is because it takes time to learn to

communicate and work effectively, classroom work enables students to be better prepared while

attending medical school. Learning the basics of teamwork and collaboration helps students

better understand patients' needs, especially in areas where health and social problems are

common (Harvey and Uren, 2019). The UK health program aims to train nurses working with

HIV-infected patients in the different roles counselors, laboratory technicians and on-site staff.

In today's healthcare environment, very few patients receive care from a single health

care professional (Ellis, 2018). Instead, patient care is provided by an interdisciplinary team of

physicians and nurses must have the training and skills to work as a team. Due to the aging of the

population, treatment has been more difficult than ever to treat patients with one or more chronic

diseases such as diabetes, cancer, arthritis, Alzheimer's or kidney disease. It is because these

diseases are complex and require specialised care and this has led to an interdisciplinary

approach to patient care (Morgan, 2018). Teams of nurses, doctors and other healthcare

professionals is important that communicate clearly and effectively to establish strong

communication, share information and solve problems. When the team coordinates care, it

reduces the stress that the patient may experience and has a positive effect on the outcome.

In addition, teamwork can reduce the problems associated with the other nurses. As team

members, nurses are not the only caregivers, so they do not take full responsibility for the

patient's health (Michelan and Spiri, 2018). They get the support of their peers to help them

make decisions. Teams of nurses, doctors and other staff can reduce illness but increase patient

and physician satisfaction. By working together effectively, medical teams can achieve their

goals. The healthcare team relies on a reliable assessment of the patient to develop an action
plan. However, in order for nurses to gather the information they need for patients, they need to

be good listeners (Anderson et al., 2019). It is noted that group care and experts can contribute to

effective practice. As a result, many specialist physicians' associations around the world have

published statements defining teams, their roles, and the characteristics of successful teams.

Group health care is a health service provided to individuals care by two or more

professionals and it is a team work (Wong et al., 2017). Its scope depends on each patient's

choice of how to achieve high-quality, coordinated treatment within the overall environmental

goal. In a healthcare system, responsibilities among team members can be shared differently. In

practice, however, the lack of shared responsibility for good teamwork can immediately put

patients at risk. Due to inadequate teamwork, even in a well-organised team, medical errors,

disturbances, and other side effects can occur. A successful team is a team that reaches out to

patients, communicates with each other and combines their observations, experience and

decision-making to maximise patient care (Harvey and Uren, 2019). On the other hand,

understanding work culture and its impact on team dynamics and activity enables team members

to become exceptional players. However, physiotherapists rarely care for patients on teamwork

in nursing. Teamwork can reduce misunderstandings in the care of others, patient care and

misunderstandings of roles and responsibilities of nurses as well.

In this way, nurses communicate with a number of healthcare professionals in their teams

and hospitals (Vassbø et al., 2019). Therefore, it is necessary to understand the key role of each

team to ensure better cooperation. Unless a clear role is specified, team members can repeat their

work in some areas and leave gaps in others. This is not only a waste of time but can also be

harmful to the patient. However, in order to achieve the team's goals, all practitioners in nursing

must understand their roles and expectations (Soukup et al., 2018). As nurses interact with many
people, they need to develop strong listening skills and communicate with other professionals in

an adequate manner. Healthcare interruptions can occur for a variety of reasons when team

members are transferred to another ward, on shifts, when information is not well communicated

or when patients change nurses. On the other hand, team members who verbally acknowledge

their contribution and success in a large team present their ideas, thereby improving the team's

consistency and efficiency. It is important that healthcare institutions respect each other not only

within the team, but also between communication services (Hampton and El-Mallakh, 2017).

Team members who are disrespectful, defensive, make secret action plans, show disruption or

worse attitude in the team. Mutual respect aims to achieve a common goal; understand that

everyone's work is appreciated and acknowledge the efforts of others. It is noted that conflicts

are inevitable, nurses can work as a team and work together. It can be pointed to the fact that

although there are many options for resolving conflicts such as competence, housing and

commitment. Health managers are everywhere and nurses often take the initiative and are

responsible for teamwork and collaboration (Choi, Kim and Kim, 2018). Therefore, teamwork

and collaboration in nursing is very important. For those who want to use these skills to enhance

their careers, it is a great policy to earn higher achievements.

Conclusion

Nursing is vital part of caring and provide adequate amount of care to their patients in

health care center. It is concluded that team working is essential for every sector and every

individual. However, it importance has increased in health care and for nursing. It is found that

nurses usually take care of different patients for more than 12 hours. It is important for them to

provide the information about the patient to the coming nurses about their patient health and

medicines. On the other hand, it is found that team working in nursing help nurses, practitioners
and professionals to make better intervention in order to protect their patients from different

health problems. With the help of team work in nursing, practitioner can understand the

hindrance in caring for nurses and make better planning to ease their way. In this way, they can

provide quality care to their patient. The importance of team working has helped nursing to make

better their practices in future as well. It is concluded that nursing has understand the importance

of other nurses. It is because, registered nurses can learn a lot from other professionals and

experts in the health care sector. It can help them to increase their learning ability and help them

to make critical decisions. With the help of team working in nursing, they can tackle complex

situation in an effective manner and it is useful to boost nurses’ confidence.
