Objectives:

This activity aims to apply statistical analysis to the internet downloads and uploads.
Intended Learning Outcomes:
1. Demonstrate how to apply descriptive statistical analysis to the gathered internet meter data.
2. Interpret the result of descriptive statistical analysis of internet meter data.
Resources:
• speedtest website
• Personal computer
• Internet Connection

Procedures:

1. Go to the https://www.speedtest.net/ to gather the ping m/s, upload and download of internet
connection provided by your service provider.
2. Complete the table with 2-hour interval.

3. Compute the following for upload and download data:
a. Mean (average)

b. Mode

c. Median
d. Variance

e. Standard Deviation

4. Interpret the result of descriptive statistical analysis of the gathered data within a day with 2-hour
interval.
5. Compare the result to the baseline upload and download of your internet connection. (Example: the
baseline is 35mbps both for upload and download).

Graph 1. The baseline is 52 Mbps both for upload and download @ 8:00 PM

6. Use graph or chart to plot the result of upload and download and compared it to the baseline of
your internet meter.
