TAKEAWAYS FROM PROJECT
First and foremost, it is important to appoint certain
roles in the project to individuals in order to
approach the project. Appointing roles not only
brings in authority but also holds individuals
responsible of their duties. So a simulation of real
world practices involved in a project is experienced
by members. Digging deep into the project, it is
pivotal to track stakeholder requirements and also
look at its feasibility. Having a strategic approach
towards the process is always important. Covering
KUNAL DUBEY almost all the knowledge areas while the project
1827917 happens plays a significant role in achieving a
quality result. Also, a backend analysis of Indian
realty and housing happened which can be seen
below.

The green spaces cover about 30% of the total land allotted. This is aimed at a sustainable green
model of township which can be considered the major value offered. Emphasis on cost and
revenue structure and application of Business Canvas Model helps in bringing out important
considerations that had to be made in project. For ease of targeting a wide base of customers, the
township consists of three plot sizes that are offered which are:

Dimensions Area per plot Number of plots

Plot 30*40 1200 1800
Plot 60*40 2400 900
Plot 50*80 4000 600

The Business Analysis project on Town Planning was a great learning experience
and provided an opportunity to have a practical exposure on how things take place
out in the real world.

The project helped me in understanding that it is imperative to understand the

clients requirements and also work in collaboration with almost every stakeholder
be it the project manager, project development team, testing team, finance team
and even the procurement team to be able to break the complex requirements into
simpler forms and coming up with innovative ideas. Proper planning and strategy
is required in order to fulfill the needs and requirements of the client and balancing
stakeholder expectations with those of the company and also observed that details
are easily overlooked in a team setting because team members share

information frequently, often on a daily basis. In this environment, it is

important to ask questions when information is confusing, inconsistent, or

incomplete. Sometimes clients simply forget to share all of the details.

Therefore it is better to ask questions in the beginning than deal with

problems later. Problems caught early in the project tend to be easier to

solve than problems caught near the end that would help in completing the
project in an efficient and effective manner.

Learning’s from the Project:

 Application of the business analysis techniques like C.A.R.A S.O.U.P.S and RACI
MATRIX. Gained a lot of learning and insights regarding stakeholder engagement and
mapping in the township project.
 Mapping of the project requirements based on the knowledge areas.
 Teamwork/team performance and the Brainstorming sessions with the group mates
helped in designing the proper layout for the project by keeping in mind the revenue and
cost structure for the project.
 Learned various tools and approaches to be implemented in a project like Agile and
Waterfall.
 The classroom sessions were quite interactive as the activities like Fill in the blanks
exercise, Crossword puzzle, designing of a dining table based on customer requirement,
the risk taking game and the designing of a website etc. helped to gain a lot of learning
and practical knowledge.
 The subject is broad and can be divided into 2 parts and can be offered in 2 trimesters as
it contains a lot of content and information.

During most projects, best case is that people are able to identify problems or roadblocks

and fix them quickly; worst case is most people are heads down in the actual work and

don’t stop to think about what might be going wrong or what might work better. Or

somewhere in between. We outlined the lessons learned during class at the beginning of

the project so the entire team understands how the information can be used. We defined

the timeframe, the structure and how team members should capture the information.

For each iteration, our team got together and discussed issues and what we might do in

the future. Then we assigned actions items to those things we knew we could do,

brainstormed mitigations for risks we shouldn’t take or fix.

This project single-handedly covered all the knowledge areas of “P.L.E.A.S.E.” and

helped imbibe the essentials of this subject in a practical manner.

Project – Township

The project on township planning was all together had a brain storming approach towards
reaching the final expectation

LEARNINGS

The subject business analysis, helped us understand the process for identifying the solution for a
requirement, a need, that has been raised. The developing of solution consists of various stages
which ultimately should match the expectation and requirement of the client. The courses
required taking up different roles among individual., taking up a role gave us different
perspective about different importance of each role. Going through entire course of BA, we were
acknowledged through the various knowledge areas, which gave us a systematic approach
towards the project of township. There were challenges arising throughout the project that
required prioritizing the client requirements and the systematic flow of the project. Prioritizing
the client requirement, where we missed upon , made us a bit diverted from the project, but later
made us aligned to the requirements.

Overall the subject gave us an insight from each knowledge area, from getting the requirements
analyzed to giving the final report fulfilling the client requirements. The importance an better
understanding of each knowledge area, helps in covering a step towards the achievement of the
final result.

Subject: Business Analysis

Business analysis was an interesting subject which enabled us to articulate needs and the
rationale for change, and to design and describe solutions that can deliver value. Business
analysis is performed on a variety of initiatives within an enterprise. Initiatives may be strategic,
tactical, or operational. Business analysis may be performed within the boundaries of a project or
throughout enterprise evolution and continuous improvement. It can be used to understand the
current state, to define the future state, and to determine the activities required to move from
current to future state.
Learning from the Township Project:
o Break complex tasks into parts and steps
o Plan and manage time
o Refine understanding through discussion and explanation
o Give and receive feedback on performance
o Challenge assumptions
o Develop stronger skillset.

Group projects also helped us to develop skills specific to collaborative efforts, allowing us to:
o Delegate roles and responsibilities.
o Share diverse perspectives.
o Pool knowledge and skills.
o Hold one another (and be held) accountable.
o Develop new approaches to resolving differences.
o Find effective peers to emulate.
o Develop their own voice and perspectives in relation to peers.
