CORRESPONDENCE WRITING
The primary goal of Unit III is to facilitate learners with the essential skills in letter writing for college
application, for employment, and various forms of office correspondence. You are to demonstrate how well you
can write and communicate using the specified format when writing a correspondence. Your task is to make a
well-written and substantial letter correspondence to be able to request your pertinent files and qualifications for
your future endeavors.

General Guidelines:

1. Your written work 1 for your second quarter in ENG112 is to write a concise and well-written formal
(block format) correspondence addressing the school registrar for your Transcript of Records.

2. The letter correspondence must have the following parts:


• Sender’s address at the right-hand corner
• Date of origination is also at the right-hand corner, immediately under the sender’s address
• The recipient’s designation and address at the left-hand corner, immediately after the date
• Salutation
• The title of the letter or subject heading
• Complimentary close
• Signature of the sender
• The Sender’s full name
• Designation under the sender’s name

3. The letter must occupy one page only.

4. This will be an individual and the submission of output is via E-Class which is due on your A-Mode.

5. Kindly follow the following format:


a. Paper size: Letter (8.5” x 11”)
b. Orientation: Portrait
c. Spacing: 1.0 inch
• Leave one space between paragraphs
• Leave two spaces for the sender’s signature
d. Alignment: Left
• NO indention at the beginning of a paragraph
e. All Margins: 1 inch
f. Font Size: 12 point
g. Font Type: Times New Roman;
h. Color: Black (Automatic)
