General:

Goddess of love, lust, fertility, war, nature, wealth, death, and witchcraft.

A member of the Vanir.

Her twin brother is Freyr and her father is Njord.

Her husband is Odr, with whom she shares daughters Hnoss and Gersimi (their names translate
to 'precious' or 'treasure' and reflect on her wealth aspect).

Odr (an offshoot of Odin) was said to have left her frequently in order to travel the world. When
he left, she wept golden tears.

She rules over Folkvangr, a meadow paradise afterlife in which half of those who died in combat
shall go.

She has a carriage drawn by two cats or lynxes, and a coat made of falcon feathers that enables
the wearer to transform into the bird.

"Possibly, the boar Hildisvíni should also be counted among Freyja’s attributes; the Hyndluljóð
poem has her riding said boar, and a boar connection, in general, is made more plausible by the
fact that her brother Freyr is also associated with a boar, in his case named Gullinborsti. Sýr,
another name of Freyja’s, is sometimes translated as ‘sow’, too, but it also might mean ‘to
protect’, ‘to shield,’ in which case it would negate this third boar link." [link]

Brisingamen is a torc necklace worn by Freyja. It was borrowed by Thor when he impersonated
her to get his hammer back from the Jotun that stole it.

Freyja was known as a völva (a practitioner of Seidr, or Norse witchcraft). She was the first to
spread witchcraft and magic to the gods, and to humans as well.
