Lucifer Notes
Lucifer Notes
The Romans associated him with the planet Venus, as it was thought to be the morning star
(brightest light in the morning sky)
His followers were also cast out of heaven and would become demons.
Lucifer appears in the Bible, and in some Greek and Roman mythology.
Titles include Phosphorus, Lucifer, Mighty Lord, Light Bearer, Light bringer, Lord of Air,
Morningstar, Bringer of Dawn, Shining One, and Prince of the East.
Animal associations include the peacock, crows/ravens, goats, snakes, owls, deer, frogs, and
toads.
Luciferianism sprung from his worship and ideology. Luciferianism is a theology, belonging to
the left hand path, that focuses on self-exploration, self-illumination, societal rebellion, personal
freedom, and eventual self-godhood. Lucifer is regarded as either a symbol, an archetype, a god,
or a working partner. Some Luciferians are completely atheistic.
Quotations:
‘At length as the Morning Star (Eosphorus) was beginning to herald the light which saffron-
mantled Dawn was soon to suffuse over the sea, the flames fell and the fire began to die.’-
Homer, The Iliad, Book 23
‘And after these Erigenia bare the star Eosphorus, and the gleaming stars with which heaven is
crowned.'-Hesiod, Theogony
"In classical mythology, Lucifer ("light-bringer" in Latin) was the name of the planet Venus,
though it was often personified as a male figure bearing a torch." (wikipedia)
Isaiah 14:12: “How you are fallen from heaven, O Day Star, son of Dawn!”
"Aurora, watchful in the reddening dawn, threw wide her crimson doors and rose-filled halls; the
Stellae took flight, in marshaled order set by Lucifer who left his station last."-Ovid,
