Predictions:

We use to be + going to + inf when we make predictions based on evidence

we have now

We use will + inf when we make predictions which is only a guess or an

opinion of ours.

Examples:

It is going to rain this evening. (you can see the dark clouds)

It will rain (when you see a sign of clouds in the sky)

You are going to be rich (the project your friend is working on is profitable)

You will be rich (a fortune teller in Taksim square tells you that… sometimes
they use be going to … to assert you they are genuine and honest in their
predictions!!! )
