.ح َوى َ َ َو لَّ ِذي َأخْ ر، َو لَّ ِذي َق َّد َر ف ََه َدى،خ َل َق ف ََسوَّى
َ ج ْل َمر ْ َعى ف َ لَّ ِذي،ك ْلاَأ ْع َلى
َ ِّح ْس َم َرب

Purify the sublime name of your Rabb Who formed and proportioned then measured and guided, Who brought out the pastures then made it a pitch-black
flood remnant, thrown away.[#40]
[#40] Tasbih/purification of name: "Tasbih" of a name [keeping away from deficiencies, exalting] is in fact "tasbih" of the owner of that name because the superiority and sanctity of the owner of a name is expressed with the superiority and purifications of the
name. Even though some scholars have said "Name and its owner are the same" they all accepted that the purpose behind purifying the name is related with the purification of the owner of the name. Hence, here, the objective of "tasbih of a name" is to keep the
names and title that do not befit Him away from our Rabb and to clear the stains attributed to His name. In the period in which the Qur'an was sent down, wrong and pointless beliefs were widespread among the Arabs, such as A) Angels were the daughters of
Allah, B) Uzayr and Jesus were Allah's son, C) Some angels and idols are helpful to get closer to Allah, D) There is an ancestral relation between Allah and Jinn. Therefore, the purpose of the command, "Tasbih of the name", is to remove and dispose such names
and attributions that may reflect these beliefs from among the names and attributions of our Rabb immediately.
.سرُكَ ل ِ ْل ُي ْسرَىِ
ّ َونُ َي.خفَ ى َ إِنَّ ُه َي ْع َل ُم ْل.اء ال ل ُه
ْ ج ْه َر َو َما َي َ إِلَّا َما َش.ُك َف َلا تَ ْن َسى
َ َس ُن ْقرِئ
Hereafter We will render in you a knowledgebase and make it to be conveyed to the others and you will not forget/abandon. Except what Allah wills. Indeed,
He knows what is disclosed and what is hidden. And We will ease for you "The Easiest"/that which will make you happy the most.

ْ يها َو َلا َي
.ح َيى ُ ار ْل
ُ ثُ َّم َلا َي ُم.ك ْبرَى ْ لَّ ِذي َي.جنَّ َُب َها ْلاَأ ْشقَ ى
َ َّص َلى لن َ َو َيَ َت.شى
َ خ ِّ ت
ْ لذكْرَى؛ َس َي َّذك َُّر َم ْن َي ِ ف ََذ
ِ إ ِْن َنفَ َع،ك ّْر
Therefore remind immediately, if the reminder benefits/will benefit; the one who is respectful will be reminded. And the one who will be the unhappiest will
avoid it. That one will burn in the greatest fire. Then, he will neither die nor live therein.

Have you not seen/thought about what your Rabb did to the people of Ad, Iram who owned pillars -like of which was not formed among the cities-, the
people of Thamud who cut out the rocks in the valleys, Pharaoh, the owner of the stakes; who had excellent armies/tortured like never seen before[#44]? They
transgressed in those lands. Therefore, they increased the corruption therein. That is why, your Rabb poured the whip of punishment upon them.
[#44] The phrase "the owner of stakes" is an ancient Bedouin idiom used in the Classical Arabic. Idiomatically, it was used metaphorically for "a powerful authority" or "an invincible, indestructible power". The number of stakes that support a Bedouin tent
depended on the size of the tent. The size of the tent always correlated to the status and power of the owner. For this reason, a powerful patriarch was always described as "the owner of the tent that stands over countless stakes".

".لش ْعرَى ُّ َ ُه َو ر،َو َأنَّ ُه
So, have you seen/ever thought about the one who turned away? He gave a little and withheld stubbornly. Is the knowledge of the past and the future with
him, so he sees it? Or has he not been informed of what was in the scriptures of Moses? And of the scriptures of loyal Abraham; The truth is, no sinner bears
the sin of another sinner. The truth is, there is nothing for man except what he strives for. And his striving will soon be seen. Then his recompense will be
given to him in full. No doubt that final destination is only to your Rabb. No doubt that He is the One Who makes laugh and weep... No doubt that He is the
One Who takes life and gives life... No doubt that when Allah puts creation in plan, it is He Who forms the two mates; male and female from a drop of
semen/sperm. No doubt that other creation is only His work. No doubt that He is the One Who grants prosperity and gives blessings in abundance. No doubt
that He is Rabb of knowledge, conscience."

َ لصادق َ َ ك ْن ِ ْ َفاأ،ت بِاآيَ ٍَة

َ ك ْن
Pharaoh said: "If you have come with evidence, then bring it forth if you are one of those who tell the truth".

Chiefs among the people of Pharaoh said: "Indeed, this is a very knowledgeable, fascinating, influential scholar.[#110] He wants to deport you from your land".
Pharaoh said: "Then what is your command?". They replied: "Keep him and his brother and send gatherers to cities. Let them bring you all very
knowledgeable, fascinating, influential scholars".
[#110] Sihr [Magic] means "to manipulate the perception to show something in other forms than what it actually is by means of illusion and hand tricks or by other means", however, it does not always involve "illusion". A good rhetorical expression or conference
may also be expressed with the words; "we are mesmerized (cast under sihr)". Therefore, we defined seherbaz as "fascinating; an influential scholar".

ْ س َ َس، " َف َل َّما َأ ْلقَ ْو. " َأ ْلقُو: َقَال
ُ ح ُرو َأ ْع ُي َن لنَّاسِ َو ْس َت ْر َه ُب
ُ َ َو.وه ْم
Moses said: "You, bring forward yours first". And when they brought forward theirs, they fascinated the people and they wanted to put them in order
according to their own thoughts. And they presented a great influential ingenuity.
اء ُه ْم َو إِنَّا ِ
َ ح ِيي ن َس َ ]س َن ْق ُت ُل[ َأ ْبَ َن
ْ َو َن ْس َت،اء ُه ْم ِ َ س ُدو فِي ْلاَأرْضِ َو َي َذرَكَ َو آل ِ َه َت

َ ف َت ْع َم ُل
".ون ُ ف ََي ْن. ِك ْم فِي ْلاَأرْض
َ ظ َر ك َْي ُ َخ ِلف َ ك ْم َأ ْن ُي ْه ِل
ْ ك َع ُد َّوك ُْم َو َي ْس َت َ : َ" قَال. َو ِم ْن َب ْع ِد َما ِج ْئَ َتَ َنا،وذي َنا ِم ْن ق َْبلِ َأ ْن َتاأْتِ َي َنا
ُ ُّ َرب،"ع َسى ِ " ُأ: قَالُو
And the people of Moses said to him: "We have been harmed before you came to us and after you came to us". And Moses said: "It is hoped that your Rabb
will manipulate, destroy your enemies and make you successors to them on the earth. Thus He will observe your deeds".

َ َو َل ُنرْ ِس َل َّن َم َع.ك َ َل ِئ ْن ك، َك بِ َما َع ِه َد ِع ْن َدك

ْ ّ ِت َعنَّا لر َ َّع َل َنا َرب َ " َيا ُم: قَالُو،ج ُز
ُ وسى! ْد ْ ّ َِو َل َّما َوق ََع َع َل ْي ِه ُم لر
And when this punishment set upon them, they said: "O Moses! Invoke your Rabb for us by the covenant/promise He gave to you; if you remove from us this
punishment, we will certainly believe in you. And we will definitely let the Israelites leave along with you".
شار َِق ْلاَأرْضِ َو َمغَا ِر َب َها لَّ ِتي ِ ِِ ِ ِ ّ اه ْم فِي ْل َي
ُ َفاَأ ْغ َر ْق َن- فَانَْ َتقَ ْم َنا ِم ْن ُه ْم

And Moses said: "Shall I seek for you a god other than Allah while He has favored you over the people of the time?"

ُ ِّك ْم َب َلاءٌ ِم ْن َرب ِ َ ح ُي
َ ون ن َس َ ب؛ ُيقَ ِتّ ُل

We saved you from the hands of Pharaoh and his family who had been inflicting you with the evil of the torment; killing your sons; strangling your sons;
making you weak, unqualified by leaving you uneducated and covering your women with disgrace. There was a great trial from your Rabb for you in this.
َ ظ ْر إِ َلى ْل
َ َف إا ِِن ْس َتقَ َّر َم، ِج َبل ِ و َل، " َلن َتر نِي: َك !" قَال
ُ ك ِْن ُ ْن ُ ب َأ رِنِي َأ ْن
َ ظ ْر إِ َل ْي َ وسى ل ِ ِميقَ اتِ َنا َو َ ،َو َل َّما
ف
َ ف ََس ْو،كا َن ُه َ َ ْ ِّ َ "ر: َ قَال.كلَّ َم ُه َربُّ ُه َ اء ُم

When Moses arrived to the place on the time We had assigned and his Rabb spoke to him. Moses said: "O my Rabb! Show me Yourself so I can look at You!".
And his Rabb said to him: "You can never see me but look at that mountain, if it should remain in its place then you will see Me". Then when his Rabb
manifested Himself to the mountain, it scrambled and then Moses fell unconscious. When he recovered his consciousness, he said: "I purify You, I have turned
to You; I have repented and I am the first of the believers".

And Moses said: "My Rabb! Forgive me and my brother! Admit us into Your mercy. And You are the most merciful of those who are merciful".

[78:16] 7/Araf [154]
".ون
َ حُ ْل ُم ْف ِل
Allah says: "I have My punishment; I will touch with it whom I will, and I have My Mercy; that encompasses everything. I will decree it especially to those who
enter under guardianship of Allah, those who give zaqah; the tax that the believers sincerely give as a liability of belief and duty of servitude so that the
religion of Allah may be spread, maintained and Salah may be established[#116] and who believe in Our Ayat; and those who follow the Messenger, the
Prophet who is from the Mother City/Mecca who orders them the good, forbids them from evil, allows them that which is clean and pleasant and prohibits for
them that which is filthy and evil, relieves them of their burden, ties and chains which were upon them; whom they can find written in the Torah and in the
Bible which are with them. Therefore, those who believe in him, show him a strong respect, support him and follow the light sent down with him will be the
ones who will succeed".
[#116] While having been appeared in the Surah Muzzammil/20 (Division 13), here is where the word zaqah chronologically appears for the first time. Therefore, we wish to provide a brief information on zaqah. Zaqah means "cleanliness, reproduction, proliferate,
abundance and praise". In the Qur'an, the verb form of this word is used in all these meanings. The form Az-Zaqah is used as a name for the purification of a commodity; delivery of a commodity after all rights that belong the poor, the deprived and the public are
deducted. That is, it is "the tax paid by all believers as their debt of faith and servitude to sustain their nation, to furnish the Salah". We simply call it "tax". However, this is not a tax as we know it, but it is a tax that is determined and spent within the Islamic
frame. According to the Qur'an, the proper time to pay the "tax" is the very moment when the revenue is received. The amount and ratio of it is not specified in the Qur'an but is left to the public authority. The public authority determines the ratio required to
establish a balanced budget.

And We divided them into twelve tribes who are led by grandsons. And when his people asked him for water, We revealed to Moses: "Implement[#118] your
knowledge upon your stonyhearted people[#117]". Then his stonyhearted people divided into twelve nations/people[#119]. Each of those people learned
well/marked where they receive water. And We shaded them with clouds. We sent down to them manna and honey/quail; "Eat from the pure of those
blessings We have provided you!" They did not treat us unjustly, they were acting unjustly to themselves.
[#117] We have learned in the Ayat above that asa is the "knowledge of Moses". Now, let us deal with what the "stone" that Moses hits with his knowledge [asa] actually is. As may be known, "stone" is the symbol of hardness/strictness. Our Rabb revealed that the
Israelites were stonyhearted, even stricter. Therefore, what meant with the stone is "the stonyhearted Israelites". This matter is mentioned in the Official Mushaf; in the Surah Al-Baqara/74.
[#118] The "actual" meaning of darb is "to built something upon something else". Starting from this "actual" meaning, this word is used in various meanings such as "to hit, to clash, to split, to squeeze, to set off, heartbeat, pulse, to exemplify, etc.". Within the
scope of Tebyinu'l Qur'an [Manifestation of the Qur'an], we detailed it in the analysis of the section that is related to Ayyub [Job]. The word means, as used herein, "to build something upon something else".
[#119] The term ayn, as mentioned in this Ayah, was defined in ancient lexicons in more than hundred meanings such as "sight, eye, sun, spring, rain, commodity, gold, human, life, community, people of a region...". For whatever reason, the word ayn has always
been translated as "the spring". Yet, it should have been translated as "community, the people of the region" for the passage "Moses". Then, when He wishes this term to be understood this way, our Rabb stated at the beginning of each respective Ayah as "And We
divided them into twelve tribes who are led by grandsons".
You can see it in the Surah Al-Ma'idah:12.
Division of Israelites into twelve groups/tribes and assigning of a governor for each of them is also mentioned in the Holy Bible; Numbers 1:1-16. This means, the Qur'an acknowledges this part of the Holy Bible.
The phrase, "Implement118 your knowledge upon your stonyhearted people", which is mentioned in these Ayat, must be emphasized as well. As can be understood from the lines mentioned in those Ayat; "And when his people asked him for water, Each of those
people learned well/marked where they receive water, then Moses had once asked for water for his people", people of Moses suffered water shortage that would eventually cause disputes among them. At the time, our Rabb revealed to Moses to use his
knowledge/experience.
Moses had learnt what water shortage might cost by the Midian water when he escaped Egypt and went to Midian. He had experiences thereof. This matter is detailed in the Official Mushaf: Surah Al-Qasas/23-25 (Division 150).
All these mean that Moses divided Israelites into twelve tribes to live in twelve different locations due to the fact that a communal life would eventually cause problems among his people. And thus solved the water shortage problem. As it is known, settlements
are founded by or on seaside or riverside.

We called him from the side of the Mount Tur, the most auspicious and brought him close to be in a special conversation. And out of Our mercy, We gave him
his brother Aaron as a prophet.

[#140] The Moses phenomenon that is detailed in other Surat is only summarized in Ta-Ha/9-99 (Division: 120). It should not be assumed that what mentioned in this Surah happened at once. What mentioned here does not follow a chronology either.

Information about Moses has definitely reached to you.

And what is it in your right hand, O Moses?
َ َف إِا َذ ! ِه َي؛،اها
.ح َّي ٌة َت ْس َعى َ ََفاَأ ْلق
Then, he put it down immediately/adopted a sedentary life and he marveled at once! What was in his right hand; the book that is revealed to him is a
running and living soul; it is the source of the social life.[#144]
[#144] The word Hayyah is one of the terms that have critical importance in the proper comprehension of the Moses passage. Therefore, we wish to provide details on this word: Derived from the word Hayat, hayyah means "to live once". Arabs use this word with
many examples: snake is called hayyah due to its long lifespan. Anyone who happens to have sharp sight is called "he sees better than hayyah". Anyone who is malevolent-insidious is called "he is more cruel than hayyah". Those who are beneficial and protective
to his community is called "he is the hayyah of the earth/his region". Those who live long, whether female or male, is called "she/he is such a hayyah". When the individual is his prime in terms of intellect, mental capacity and genius, he is called "she/he is the
hayyah of the valley". Hayyah, in the context of simile, is used to describe the stars that lie between the twin quasar of the constellation Ursa Major and Alcaid [the dead/dormant star]. (Lisan, clause "hayyah"; Tac, clause "hayyah")
Tahhiyah/salutation [May Allah give you a long life] is derived from the same root as well.
In short, meaning of this word is "life and vitality". Basically, hayyah does not describe the snake itself, instead it describes the long life of the snake. Also mentioned here is the phrase hayyatun tes'a [tes'a that runs continuously]. The exact literal translation of
this phrase would be "the one with seven lives" which means "even though facing the death, evading it". While this word may be used for those who survived many illnesses, troubles and disasters, it is also used for cats and snakes.
To better comprehend hayyah, as mentioned in this Ayah, it must be considered that the object held by Moses in his right hand is described differently by Allah. In An-Naml/10 and Al-Qasas/31, the object held by Moses in his right hand is described as "it moves it
like an invisible entity". That is, that which Moses holds in his right hand resembles an invisible entity that causes to move". So, what is this invisible entity that causes to move? It is the life/soul of humans and animals.
This expression represents the spiritual property of the revelation. Soul [ruh] is a name of the Qur'an while at the same time it is the name of that object [book] in the right hand of Moses. Then, in Ash-Shu'ara/193, it is stated that the ancient Scripture also had
soul/life with the statement: The Trustworthy Soul [divine messages, trustworthy knowledge] descended into your heart in an explicit Arabic language so you may be of those warners with that explicit book. 196And indeed, the Trustworthy Soul [divine messages,

Moses said: "My Rabb! Open my chest, facilitate my work so we may purify you from all deficiencies and remember you frequently. Untie my tongue so they
may understand my word well. And from my family; my brother Aaron; make him a minister for me, increase my strength with him. Make him share my task.
Indeed, You see us".

Allah said: "O Moses! You have been granted what you request".

ِ َف ْلي ْل ِق ِه ْليم بِالس،م ِ ِ فَا ْق ِذف،وت

ِ ِ » َأ ِن ْق ِذف،وحى َ ح ْي َنا إِ َلى ُأ ِ ّم
َ ك َما ُي َ َم َنَنَّا َع َل ْي،َو َلقَ ْد
َ " إ ِْذ َأ ْو:ك َم َّر ًة ُأخْ رَى
You and your brother; go with my evidences/signs and do not slacken in My remembrance.

َ خ َ إِنَّ ُه.ِ ْذ َه َبا إِ َلى فِر ْ َع ْو َن
ْ َل َعلَّ ُه َيَ َت َذك َُّر َأ ْو َي، فَقُو َلا َل ُه ق َْو ًلا َل ِّي ًنا.طغَى
You both go to Pharaoh. He truly has transgressed. Then speak to him softly so he may be reminded and fear in awe with respect, love and knowledge".

".«ب َو َت َولَّى َ َأ َّن ْل َع َذ، ق َْد ُأوح َي إِ َل ْي َنا، إِنَّا.َع َلى َم ِن تَّ ََب َع ْل ُه َدى
Allah said: "Do not fear, surely I am with both of you, I hear and see. Go to him immediately and say to him; "Indeed, we are two messengers of your Rabb.
Then send Israelites with us and do not torment them; indeed we have come to you with an evidence/a sign from your Rabb. Salam [health, peace,
happiness...] is to those who follow the guidance. Surely, it was revealed to us that the punishment will definitely be for one who denies and turns away'".

". ثُ َّم َه َدى،خ ْلقَ ُه َّ ك َ "ربَُّ َنا لَّ ِذي َأ ْع
ُ طى َ : َقَال
Moses said: "Our Rabb is the One Who gave each thing its form and properties and then guided".
َ ك َّذ
.ب َو َأ َبى ُ َأ َر ْيَ َنا ُه آ َياتِ َنا، َو َلقَ ْد-.ار ًة ُأخْ رَى
َ كلَّ َها؛ َف َ َت
Moses said: "The knowledge of them is with my Rabb in a book. My Rabb does not do wrong nor forgets/forsakes. He is the One Who made the earth a cradle
for you, made paths on it and sent down a water from the sky". - And We grow many species of plants in couples with that water. Eat and graze your livestock.
Indeed there are many evidences/signs in this for those who have intelligence! We formed you from the earth and we will return you to it and bring you out
of it once again. - And surely, We showed Pharaoh our evidences/signs; all of them, but he denied and refused.

Moses said: "Meeting time with you is forenoon on the festival and celebration day when people will gather".

And Moses said to them: "Woe to you! Do not invent a lie to Allah. Then He will exterminate your lineage with a punishment. Truly, he who invents will lose".

We said: "Do not fear, indeed you; it is you who is superior: Bring forward the knowledge you have; then it will devour their productions. Surely, what they
have done is just an trick of an illusion. And the one who impresses through illusion will definitely not win victory, succeed wherever he goes".

And Samiri brought forth to them a deceiver, a trickster corpse/gold[#150] so Israelites said: "This is your idol and idol of Moses. But Moses abandoned it. -So,
did they not see that gold could not respond to them with any word; and it did not possess a harm and a benefit for them?-

Moses said: "Now go! And it is for you to say for lifetime , 'No contact with me'. And there is an appointment day for you that you will never be able to refuse.
And look at your idol you have been worshipping". - Surely We will burn it and then demolish it deep into the large body of water. Your god is only Allah
except Whom there is no deity. Indeed, He has encompassed all things in knowledge. -

Pharaoh said to those around him: "Do you not hear?".

Pharaoh said: "This messenger who was sent to you is indeed supported by secret forces/is a madman".
َ ك ْنَ ُت ْم َت ْع ِق ُل
"-ون ُ إ ِْن- ِب َو َما َب ْي َن ُه َما ِ شر
ِ ِق َو ْل َمغْر ْ ب ْل َم
ُّ َ "ر: َقَال
Moses said: "If you use your reason, He is Rabb of the east and the west and that is between them".

"ين؟ َ " َأ َو َل ْو ِج ْئَ ُت: َقَال

Moses said: "Even though I have brought you something manifest?".
".ين ِ ِ َّ ت ِمن

Pharaoh said: "Well, bring it forward now, if you are one of those righteous".

Pharaoh said to the chiefs around him: "Indeed, this is definitely a very knowledgeable, influential scholar! He wants to drive you out of your land with his
influential knowledge. Now, what do you say?".

ِّ ك ِ َ ث فِي ْل َم َد ئ ِ ِن

Chiefs said: "Hold him and his brother and send gatherers to cities. Let them bring you all great and very influential scholars".

And it was said to the people: "Will you congregate?".

Then influential scholars were left as they submitted: "We have believed in Rabb of all universes; Rabb of Moses and Aaron".

َ ك ْ صاكَ ْل َب
َ َف،ح َر!" فَانْفَ َل َق َ ِب بِ َع ْ " َأ ِن:وسى

Then We revealed to Moses: "Hit that large body of water/river with your knowledge!". Then that large body of water/river was split/dams were set and each
dam became like a great mountain.[#162]
[#162] What explained here is that Moses was revealed to build dams over the river that would collapse in the future to drown Pharaoh and his soldiers. What narrated in these Ayat is that Moses was revealed to build dams over the Nile using his knowledge and
then the water was divided into parts as the mountains; i.e. high dams were built. Oldest known dam was the 15 meters high "Sadd Al-Kafarah" that was built over the Nile between ca. 2900-2750 B.C. According to an explicit account found in the Qur'an, there
were multiple dams rather than one.

And when he came there, he was called: "Blessed is the one who is in and next to the fire! And Allah, Rabb of all universes is purified from all deficiencies! "O
Moses! Surely, I am Allah Who is the most exalted, the most powerful, the most honorable, the invincible/the subduer, the best law maker, the One Who
precludes corruption best/makes incorruptible! And bring forward your knowledge! - When he saw it which causes to move like an invisible entity, he fled
away. - O Moses, do not fear! Indeed I; the messengers do not fear in My presence. But whoever does wrong; acts against his own good, then turns it to good
after evil, indeed I am very forgiving, the possessor of much mercy. - And engage the power within your chest, in nine[#169] Ayat [evidences/signs] you will
come out to Pharaoh and his people flawlessly and perfectly. Indeed, they are a transgressing people".
[#169] The number "nine" can be understood here in two distinctive ways. A) Here this number is used metaphorically to express a multiplicity. Then, the number of Ayat/signs sent to Israelites is much more than nine. B) What meant here is the fact that the "Ten
Commandments" contained in the Torah are written down in nine Ayat. The expression "You will not have other deities but Me", which is mentioned two distinctive command sentences in the Jewish Torah, and the expression "you will not carve idols for yourself"
are combined into a single command sentence in the Samaritan Torah. Thus, number of the command sentences, including the one that states, "do not envy your neighbor's house", is ten in the Jewish Torah and nine in the Samaritan Torah.

And Moses entered the city at the time of inattention by the people of the city. Then he found two men, one from his side and one from the side of the
enemy, who were trying to kill each other. Then the one who was from his side asked Moses for help against the enemy. Then, Moses punched the other and
he died immediately. Moses said: "This is from the work of the satan, surely, He is a clear, misleading enemy".

.يم ُ ُ ُه َو ْل َغف، إِنَّ ُه.َاغ ِف ْر لي!" َف َغفَ َر َل ُه

Moses said: "My Rabb! I have been unjust to myself. So forgive me!" and Allah forgave him. He surely is the One Who is very forgiving, the One Who shows
great mercy.

And when Moses arrived to the water of Midian, he found a people with a leader who were watering their flocks. And Moses found two women, who were not
as strong as other people watering their flocks, and pulling their flock back. He said: "What is the matter with you?". They said: "We will not water our flock
before the shepherds water their flocks and go; and our father is a very old man".

َ كَانُو ق َْو ًما فَاسق، إِن َُّه ْم.ك إِ َلى فر ْ َع ْو َن َو َم َلئه

And when he arrived there, he was called from a tree, from the right side of the valley that was located in that fertile piece of land: "O Moses! Indeed, I am
Allah, Rabb of all universes! And bring forward your knowledge! - And when he saw his knowledge which moves like an invisible entity, he ran away. - O
Moses! Come closer, do not fear. Indeed, you are of those who are safe. Engage the strength you have in your chest, you will definitely come out perfectly.[#180]
Draw your wing to yourself from your sleeve. These are two evidences from your Rabb against Pharaoh and his men. Indeed they have become a people who
have gone astray from the righteous path".

ُ إِنَّ ُه َلا ُي ْف ِل.ِاقبََ ُة ل َّد ر

َ :وسى
Moses said: "My Rabb is the One Who knows better who has come with the guidance to the righteous path from Him and for whom will the end of the home
be better. Indeed, those who do wrong; act against their own good by associating others with Allah will not reach the salvation".
َو إِنِّي.وسى ِ ِ ِ
َ حا َل َعلّي َأطَّل ُع إِ َلى إِ َله ُم َ َاج َع ْل لِي
ً ْصر ْ ين؛ ف ِ ان َع َلى
ِ ّلط ُ ام ِ ِ ُ " َيا َأيُّ َها ْل َم َلاُأ! َما َع ِل ْم:َو قَالَ فِر ْ َع ْو ُن

َ َفاَأ ْوق ْد لي َيا َه.ك ْم م ْن إِ َل ٍه َغ ْير ِي
ِ َ ظنُّ ُه ِمن ْل
ُ َلاَأ
َ ِكاذب
".ين َ
Pharaoh said: "O chiefs! I have not known any other god for you than myself. O Haman! Set a fire on the clay for me now; produce bricks and build a tower for
me so I may get information about the god of Moses. And surely, I believe with certainty that he is one of liars".

َ فكَ ظ ْر ك َْي ِ ّ اه ْم فِي ْل َي

We seized him and his soldiers and threw them in that large body of water/in the river. So see how is the end of those who do wrong; act against their own
good by associating others with Allah!

َ كنَّا ُمرْسل
ِ ت َثا ِو ًيا فِي َأ ْهلِ م ْد َين تَ ْت ُلو َع َلي ِه ْم آ َياتِ َنا؛ و َل
ُ ،كنَّا َ ْ َ َ ُ َو َما.اولَ َع َل ْي ِه ُم ْل ُع ُم ُر
َ ك ْن َ طَ َف َت،ْشاأْ َنا ق ُُرو ًنا ِ و َل
َ كنَّا َأن َ
We created many generations and their lives were prolonged. You were not among the people of Midian who recited Our Ayat to them; but We are senders of
messengers.
َ ل كَافِ ُر
".ون ُ ِ " إِنَّا ب: قَالُو
ٍّ ك
And when that truth came to them from Us, they said: "Why was he not given like that which; evidences, signs was given to Moses? Did they not deny,
conceal what was given to Moses before? They said: "Two magic, two influential knowledge that backup; support each other". And they said: "We surely will
not accept any".
.ين ِ ِ َّ ل ِم َّم ِن تََّب َع َهو ُه بِغ َْي ِر ُه ًدى ِمن ال ل ِه؟ إ َِّن ال ل َه َلا َي ْه ِدي ْلقَ ْو َم ل َ َأن ََّما َيَتَّ ِب ُع،َاع َل ْم
َ َو َم ْن َأ.ون َأ ْه َو َء ُه ْم ِ َف إا ِْن َل ْم َي ْس َت
َ ج ُيبو َل
َ ظالم َ َ َ ُّ ض ْ ف،ك
If they do not respond to you despite this, then know that they only follow their desires. Who can be more astray [confused, fallen] than the one who follows
his desires without a guidance from Allah? Surely, Allah does not guide a people who do wrong; act against their own good by associating others with Him.

َ ك َث َر ُه ْم َلا َي ْع َل ُم
.ون ْ َأ
And they said: "If we follow the guidance to the righteous path together with you, we will be driven out from our land". Have We not established them in a
secure place/Mecca[#181], where fruits of all crops were harvested and brought to them as a provision from Us? But most of them do not know.

And those who were given knowledge said: "Woe to you! For those who believe and do righteous deeds, the reward that Allah will give is better. And only
those who have patience will be granted it".

َ صرِ َان ِم َن ْل ُم ْنَ َت ُ َان َل ُه ِم ْن فِئَ ٍَة َيَ ْن
ِ ص ُرو َن ُه ِم ْن ُد
َ َو َما ك،ون ال ل ِه َ ف ََما ك.ض ْ ِ ِ
َ َْخ َس ْف َنا بِه َو بِ َد ر ِه لاَأر

And then We caused the earth to swallow him and his house. There was no company for him to help from among those that are inferior to Allah and he was
not of those who were able to defend and save themselves.
َ كافِ ُر
".ون ُ كاَأنَّ ُه َلا ُي ْف ِل
َ ح ْل َ َو ْي
And those who wished to be in his position yesterday overnighted and said: "O, so Allah extends provision for whomever He wills of His servants and restricts
it. Had Allah not given us a bounty, He would have caused the earth to swallow us as well. So, the infidels; those who consciously deny the divinity of Allah
and the fact that He is Rabb will not save themselves".

And We gave Moses the Book and made the Book a guidance for the Israelites - from the descendants of those whom We saved by carrying to the ship with
Noah - so you might not take an entity/authority that arranges all creatures pursuant to a schedule and implements this schedule by supporting, maintaining
it from among those that are inferior to Me. Indeed, Noah was a grateful servant; who was repaying for the blessings he had been given.
ُ ك ْم َو ل ِ َي ْد ْ
َو،خ ُلو ُه َأ َّولَ َم َّر ٍة ِ خ ُلو ْل َم ْس
َ ج َد ك ََما َد ُ وه
َ جُ وءو ]ل ِ َي ُسو َأ[ ُو ِ ِ ِ
ُ ل َي ُس،اء وَ ْع ُد ْلاآخ َرة
َ جَ َف إِا َذ-.ك ْم َو إ ِْن َأ َساأتُ ْم َف َل َها ِ ُحس ْنَ ُت ْم لِاَأنْف
ُ س َ ْ َأ،ح َس ْنَ ُت ْم

ً ل ُي َت ِّب ُرو َما َع َل ْو تَ ْت ِب

-If you do good, you do if for yourselves and if you do evil, you do it for yourselves too.- And when the other time for devastation comes, We will send Our
mighty servants upon you to do evil to you, enter the masjid/Bayt Al-Maqdis as they did for the first time, demolish and destroy the places they take.

ً حُ وسى َم ْس ُ فَقَ الَ َل ُه فِر ْ َع ْو ُن " إِنِّي َلاَأ،اء ُه ْم

And surely, We gave Moses nine explicit; many Ayat [evidence/sign][#195] - ask Israelites - .When Moses came to them and Pharaoh said to him: "O Moses! I
certainly know that you are affected by magic".

And recite to them the important news of Noah: When he said to his people: "O my people! If my position; that I have a duty, that I stand against you and that
I remind you with the Ayat of Allah should be burdensome upon you, know that I have relied upon Allah. Now, you and your partners, gather and decide what
you will do with all of your power. Then do not let your this deed be trouble for you. Then carry it out upon me and do not give me respite. Then, if you turn
away; I have not asked you a payment anyway! My payment is only upon Allah. And I have been commanded to be of the Muslims".

َ َان َعاقبََ ُة ْل ُم ْن َذر
َ فك ُ فَا ْن.ين ك ََّذ ُبو بِاآ َياتِ َنا
َ ظ ْر ك َْي ِ َ ِ خ َلائ
َ َو َأ ْغ َر ْق َنا لَّذ.ف ُ ج َع ْل َن
َ اه ْم ِ ج ْي َنا ُه َو َم ْن َم َع ُه فِي ْلفُ ْل

And they denied him despite this. So We saved him and those who were with him in the ship. And We made them successors of those who went away. And
We drowned those who denied our Ayat [evidences/signs] in the water. Look how was the end of those who were warned.

ِ ح لس ِ ْ » َأ ِس،اءك ُْم َ ون ل ِ ْل

َ اح ُر َّ ُ ح ٌر َه َذ «؟ َو َلا ُي ْفل َ جَ َل َّما،ح ِّق َ ُ " َأ َتقُول:وسى
َ قَالَ ُم
Moses said: "Do you say 'This is a magical word?' for the truth when it has come to you? Yet, those who say magical words will not reach what they hope for".

َ ل َساح ٍر
َّ ]س ُ ِ " ئَْ ُت ونِي ب:َو قَالَ فِر ْ َع ْو ُن

And Pharaoh said: "Bring me all scholars who are the most knowledgeable, who speak influential words!".

َ جر ُِم َ َو َل ْو،ك ِل َماتِ ِه
ْ كر ِ َه ْل ُم ِ َو ُي.س ِدين
َ ح ُّق ال ل ُه ْل
َ ِح َّق ب َ

ْ إ َِّن ال ل َه َلا ُي. إ َِّن ال ل َه َس ُي ْب ِط ُل ُه.ح ُر ِ ِ

ْ لس َ قَالَ ُم، َف َل َّما َأ ْلقَ ْو
َ :وسى
And when they threw Moses said, "That which you have brought is an illusion/a deception. Surely, Allah will disclose that it is fake and useless. No doubt that
Allah does not amend the works of corrupters. And Allah establishes the truth by His words and implements it even though sinners do not like".
"!ك ْنَ ُت ْم ُم ْس ِل ِمين َّ ف ََع َل ْي ِه َت َو،ك ْنَ ُت ْم َآم ْنَ ُت ْم بِال َّ ِه
ُ ك ُلو إ ِْن َ َو قَالَ ُم
ُ " َيا ق َْو ِم! إ ِْن:وسى
And Moses said: "O my people! If you have believed in Allah, have become of the Muslims who have submitted only to Him, then rely only on Him!".

ْ َأنَّ ُه ] إِنَّ ُه[ َلا إِ َل َه إِلَّا لَّ ِذي َآم َن،ت

َ يل َو َأ َنا م َن ْل ُم ْسلم

.فُون ْ َي
And indeed, We placed Israelites in a beautiful land and provided them with pleasant blessings and they did not differ until the knowledge had come to
them. Indeed, your Rabb will establish justice among them on the day of Qiyamat [Resurrection] concerning over what they differed.
Division:187
َ ك َث َر لنَّاسِ َلا ُيؤْ ِم ُن ِ و َل.ك ِ َ ْل، إِنَّ ُه.ك فِي ِمريَ ٍَة ِم ْن ُه
ُ َف َلا َت.َم ْو ِع ُد ُه
.ون ْ ك َّن َأ َ َ ِّح ُّق م ْن َرب ْ
Then, are those who desire the worldly life like the one who is upon a clear evidence from his Rabb and whom a witness from his Rabb follows and who has
the book of Moses before him as a guide and a mercy? Those ones believe in the Qur'an. Whoever conceals the Qur'an from whatever opposite groups, fire
will be what he is promised. Therefore, you, do not have incomplete knowledge about the Qur'an because of all these. Surely, it is the truth from your Rabb.
But most of the people do not believe.

Hence, be righteous as you have been commanded! So be those who repent with you. Do not transgress! Surely, Allah is the One Who sees best what you do.

[#229] The Surah Al-An'am (consists of 165 Ayat) is a summary of all principles that had been revealed until the time of its revelation. As we mentioned in the Tebyinu'l Qur'an, since it is stated that these Surat were revealed at once, we give them within a single

ُ ج َت ََب ْي َن
And We favored among their ancestors, descendants and brothers as well. And We chose them, guided them to the righteous path.
َ ض ِه ْم َي ْل َع ُب
.ون َ "ال ل ُه!" ثُ َّم َذ ْر ُه ْم فِي: ِير ؛ َو ُع ِلّ ْم ُت ْم َما َل ْم َت ْع َل ُمو َأنَْ ُت ْم َو َلا آ َباؤُ ك ُْم؟" قُل
ِ خ ْو ً فُون ك َِث
َ خ ْ ُ َو ت، تُ َْب ُدو َن َها،يس ِ
َ ق ََر ط
And they did not appraise Allah truly/they could not know Allah appropriately when they said: "Allah has not sent anything to any human". Say: "Who is the
One Who sent down the Book which Moses brought to enlighten and guide the people, you used as text material piece by piece, disclosed some parts of it
but concealed most of it; from which you and your ancestors learned many things you had not known before?". Then you, say: "Allah!". Then leave them
amusing themselves with their vain deeds.
.ونُ ِحاف
َ ظ َ ص َلاتِ ِه ْم ُي َ ون بِا ْلاآ ِخ َر ِة ُيؤْ ِم ُن
َ ون بِ ِه َو ُه ْم َع َلى َ ين ُيؤْ ِم ُن ِ َ ص ِّد ُق لَّ ِذي َب ْي َن َي َد ْي ِه َو ل ِ ُتَ ْن ِذ َر ُأ َّم ْلقُرَى َو َم ْن
َ َو لَّذ.ح ْو َل َها َ ُم، ٌاب َأنْزَ ْل َنا ُه ُم َبارَك ِ
ٌ َو َه َذ ك َت
This is the Book full of blessings and confirming what is mentioned within, which We have sent down upon you so you may warn the Mother City and the
people nearby. Those who believe in Akhirat [Afterlife] also believe in it and they protect their Salah [supporting financially and spiritually establish and the
institutions that enlighten the community].

.ُون ِ وء ْل َع َذ

And the Qur'an is a blessed book that We have sent down so some of you will not say, "The book was sent down to only two groups before us, Jews and
Christians; but we could not read these books and we could not understand their language" or some of you will not say, "Had a book been sent down to us,
we would have been on a righteous path better than them". Therefore, follow it and enter under the guardianship of Allah so you may be shown mercy. A
clear proof, guidance and mercy have come to you as well from your Rabb. Therefore, who can do more wrong; act more against their own good than those
who deny the Ayat of Allah, turn away from them? We will recompense those who turn away from Our Ayat with the worst of the punishment for they have
turned away.

.م َ اه َما َو ق َْو َم ُه َما ِم َن ْل
ِ ْكر ُ ج ْي َن

َ ار َ َم َنَنَّا َع َلى ُم،َو َلقَ ْد

And indeed, We gave Moses and Aaron blessings as well. And We saved both of them and their people from that great affliction.

And We guided them to the straight path.

And that one who has believed said: "O my people! Indeed, I fear about you the like of the day of the Companions; adventures similar to those of the people
of Noah, Ad, Thamud and those after them. And Allah does not want any injustice, wrong for His servants. O my people! Indeed I fear for you that day of
calling-screaming/fleeing; that day on which you will turn your backs and flee. There is no one to protect you from Allah. And whomever Allah leads astray,
then there is no guide for him. And surely, Joseph had come to you with evidences before this. And you had uncertain, insufficient knowledge in that which he
brought to you at that time as well. And when he died, you said, "Allah will never send a messenger after this". Thus Allah leads astray those who dispute
about the Ayat/evidences/signs of Allah, those who transgress, those who doubt without an authority having come to them. Great is the hatred of this
situation in the sight of Allah and in the sight of those who have believed. Thus seals Allah hearts of every tyrant who acts arrogantly".
، َم ْن َع ِم َل َس ِّيئَ ًة.ِ َو إ َِّن ْلاآ ِخ َر َة ِه َي َد ُر ْلقَ َر ر.ع َ َيا ق َْو ِم! إِن ََّما َه ِذ ِه ْل.اد
ٌ ح َيا ُة ل ُّدن َْيا َم َتا ِ يل لر َش ِ ِ " َيا ق َْو ِم! تَّ ِب ُع:َو قَالَ لَّ ِذي َآم َن

And indeed, We had given Moses "the guidance" as a guide and reminder for those who had pure mind and made Israelites inherit that book.

And they became divided only out of their transgression between themselves after the knowledge had come to them. If not for a word that preceded from
your Rabb, "Until the end of a predetermined term", it would have been concluded between them. And indeed, those who have been made inherit the Book
after them have an uncertain, insufficient knowledge that leads them into uncertainty, about the Qur'an.
ِ ِ ُ ك ْل
ُ َو إِ َل ْيه ُأن،ت
".يب َّ َت َو
Therefore, you, invite and be righteous as you have been commanded. Do not follow their vain, transitory desires and say: "I have believed in what Allah sent
down from the book and I have been commanded to fulfill justice among you. Allah is our Rabb and your Rabb as well. What we do belongs only to us and
what you do belongs only to you. There is no need for an evidence between you and us. Allah will gather us. And only to Him is the return. And for anything
over which you disagree; its judgment belongs to Allah. This is my Rabb, Allah. I have relied only on Him and I turn only to Him".[#265]

And when Moses brought Our Ayat/evidences/signs to them, they laughed at the Ayat at once.

Then Moses called to his Rabb, saying: "Surely, these are a criminal people".

Thus it is! We made other peoples inherit them.

َ ظرَ َو َما كَانُو ُم ْن.اء َو ْلاَأرْض َّ ت َع َل ْي ِه ُم

Then the heavens/universe and the earth did not cry upon them. And they were not the ones whom were given respite.

َ صادق ُ إ ِْن، َفاأْتُو بِاآ َبائ ِ َنا.ِين
ِ ِ َ ك ْنَ ُت ْم

Surely, those Meccans who associate others with Allah are saying: "There is only our first death. And we will not be resurrected again. If you are truthful and
true to your words, then bring our ancestors to us".

And indeed, We gave Israelites the book, judgment; law and prophethood. And We provided them with what is pure, pleasant. And We favored them above

َ ضي َب ْي َن ُه ْم َي ْو َم ْل ِق َي َ َّ إ َِّن َرب.اء ُه ُم ْل ِع ْل ُم َبغْ ًيا َب ْي َن ُه ْم
ِ َي ْق،ك َ ف ََما خْ َت َلفُو إِلَّا ِم ْن َب ْع ِد َما.ِات ِم َن ْلاَأ ْمر

And We gave them explicit proofs of own affairs of Allah Himself. Then they differed only out of the envy between themselves after the knowledge had come
to them. Surely, on the day of Qiyamat [Resurrection], your Rabb will judge between them for that over which they differed.
Division:275
ٌ ير ُم ِب
".ين ِ ُ ِ َو َما َأ ْدر ِي َما ُي ْف َع ُل بِي َو َلا ب. ِت بِ ْد ًعا ِم َن لر ُّ ُسل
َ إ ِْن َأتَّ ِب ُع إِلَّا َما ُي.ك ْم
ٌ َو َما َأ َنا إِلَّا َنذ.وحى إِ َل َّي ُ ك ْن

َ :ق ُْل
Say: "I am not the one who came forth first of the messengers. And I do not know what will be done to me and to you. I only follow what is revealed to me.
And I am only an explicit warner".
ٌ ك ق َِد
ٌ "ه َذ إِ ْف َ ُ ف ََس َيقُول،" َو إ ِْذ َل ْم َي ْه َت ُدو بِ ِه. َما َس َبقُو َنا إِ َل ْي ِه، خ ْي ًر ِ ِ ِ
".يم َ :ون َ " َل ْو ك: ين َآم ُنو
َ َان َ َو قَالَ لَّذ
َ ين كَفَ ُرو للَّذ
And the infidels; those who consciously denied the divinity of Allah and the fact that He is Rabb said for those who have believed: "If it had been good, a
benefit, they would not have preceded us to it; we would have been believers first, taken the benefit". And when they do not follow the righteous path that
they are guided by this, they will say: "This is an ancient invention."

There was the book of Moses as a leader and mercy before the Qur'an. And this Qur'an is the book which is upon Arabic language/with the most perfect
narration style to warn those who do wrong; act against their own good by associating others with Allah and to give good tidings to those who produce good.

َ ُأو َل ِئ.اء ِ ِِ ِ
ُ س َل ُه م ْن ُد ونه َأ ْول َي ْ ِ ِ ِ
َ َو َل ْي. ِس ب ُم ْعج ٍز في لاَأرْض

ِ َو َم ْن َلا ُي.م

ٍ ال ُم ِب َ
They said: "O our people! We certainly have listened to a book that was revealed after Moses and only confirms its contents and guides to the truth and to
the straight path. O our people! Respond to the inviter of Allah and believe in Him so Allah may forgive your sins and save you from a painful punishment.
Whoever does not respond to the inviter of Allah, let him know that he will not incapacitate Allah on the earth. And there are no familiars who help, guide,
protect for him from among those that are inferior to Allah. They are in an explicit astray".
Division:283

ٌ ج ُن ِ "س: َ و قَال. َف َتولَّى بِرك ِْن ِه،ين
ْ اح ٌر َأ ْو َم َ َ ُ َ ٍ ط
ٍ ان ُم ِب َ َأرْ َس ْل َنا ُه إِ َلى فِر ْ َع ْو َن بِ ُس ْل، إ ِْذ.وسى ِ
َ َو في ُم
And there are evidences/signs in Moses. Once We sent him to Pharaoh with an explicit proof but Pharaoh turned away with his army and all his sources of
power. And he said: "This is a magician, a person who is supported by secret forces/is a madman".

[296:2] 18/Kehf [61]
َ َلقَ ْد َل ِقي َنا ِم ْن َسفَ ر ِ َنا َه َذ َن، " آتِ َنا َغ َد َء َنا:او َز قَالَ لِفَ َتا ُه
".ص ًبا َ جَ َف َل َّما
When they passed, Moses said to his young boy: "Bring our morning meal, we have really got tired in this journey of ours".
.صا َ كنَّا َن َْب ِغ!" فَا ْر َت َّد َع َلى آ َثار ِِه َما ق
ً َص َ ِ "ذَل: َقَال
ُ َما،ك
Moses said: "That is what we were looking for!". They immediately returned following their tracks.
ُ ط بِ ِه
"! خ ْب ًر ِ ُص ِبر َع َلى َما َل ْم ت
ْ ح ُ ْ ف َت َ []م ِعى
َ َو ك َْي. ص ْب ًر َ يع َم ِع َي
َ َّك َل ْن َت ْس َت ِط
َ " إِن: َقَال
And the knowledgeable servant said: "Indeed you will not be able to bear to have patience with me. And how will you have patience for the knowledge which
you do not comprehend?".

[296:12] 18/Kehf [72]
َ []م ِعى
"ص ْب ًر «؟ َ يع َم ِع َي
َ َّك َل ْن َت ْس َت ِط
َ " َأ َل ْم َأق ُْل » إِن: َقَال
The knowledgeable servant said: "Have I not told you that 'you would not be able to have patience with me'?
Moses said: "Do not punish me for what I have forgotten and do not give me a difficult in my matter!".
َ []م ِعى
"ص ْب ًر «؟ َ يع َم ِع َي
َ َّك َل ْن َت ْس َت ِط َ " َأ َل ْم َأق ُْل َل: َقَال
َ ك » إِن
The knowledgeable servant said: "Have I not told you that 'you would never be able to have patience with me'?".
ْ َأ
". ج ًر
Then they set out again. And when they arrived a people of a town, they asked them for food. But they refused to offer them hospitality. Then, they found a
wall there that was about to collapse. The knowledgeable servant restored it. Moses said: "If you had wished, you could definitely have taken a payment for
this".
ك َأ ْن ً ِ صال
َ ُّ َفاَأ َر َد َرب.حا َ َو ك.ك ْن ٌز َل ُه َما
ُ َان َأ ُب
َ وه َما َ ح َت ُه َ يم ْي ِن فِي ْل َم ِدينَ َِة َو ك
ْ َان َت َ ام ْي ِن َي ِت
ِ َ ك
َ ان ل ُغ َل ِ َو َأ َّما ْل.«ح ًما
َ ج َد ُر؛ َف ْ ُب ر ِ
َ َخ ْي ًر م ْن ُه َزكَا ًة َو َأ ْقر
َ َربُّ ُه َما
ْ َ ِ ذَل. َو َما ف ََع ْل ُت ُه َع ْن َأ ْمر ِي.-ك
َ ِّح َم ًة ِم ْن َرب
َ ِيل َما َل ْم َت ْس ِط ْع َع َل ْي ِه
"! ص ْب ًر ُ َتاأو،ك ْ َر- ك ْن َز ُه َما ْ َو َي ْس َت،َي َْب ُلغَا َأشُ َّد ُه َما
َ خر َِجا
The knowledgeable servant said: "This is our separation. Now I will inform you the first meanings of that over which you were not able to have patience: "As
for the ship; it belonged to some needy people who worked at the sea. So, I intended to make it defective. Because, there was a king ahead of them who
seized all good, undamaged ships by force and took them. As for the young boy; his parents were believers. Because of that we feared that he would cause
his parents transgress and drive them to disbelieve; consciously deny the divinity of Allah and the fact that He is Rabb. Then we intended that 'their Rabb
would give them a better one in purity and closer in mercy.' As for the wall; it belonged to two orphan boys and there was a treasure beneath it for them.
Their father was a good man. Therefore, -as a mercy of your Rabb- your Rabb intended that they should reach the age of ability to distinguish between good
and evil and take out their treasure. And I did not do it [restoring the wall] with my own accord. This is the first meaning of that over which you were not able
to bear to have patience!".

Then eat halal/permissible and pure of that which Allah has provided for you. And repay for the blessing of Allah; if you should worship only Him.
ُ ب َلا ُي ْف ِل ِ َ ون َع َلى ال ل ِه ْل ِ ِ َ حر ٌم" ل ِ َت ْف َترو َع َلى ال ل ِه ْل ِ َ كم ْل ِ ف َأ ْل ِ َو َلا َتقُولُو ل ِ َما َت
.ون
َ ح َ كذ َ إ َِّن لَّذ.ب
َ ين َي ْف َت ُر َ كذ ُ َ َ َو َه َذ، ٌحلَال
َ "ه َذ
َ بَ كذ ُ ُ س َنَ ُت ُ ص
And do not say, "This is halal/permissible, this is haram/forbidden" to invent lie about Allah with the untruth of your tongues. Indeed, those who invent lie
about Allah will not succeed.
Division:318
ُ ص َّبا ٍر َش
.ٍكور َ ل ُ ِ ات ل
ِّ ك َ ِ إ َِّن فِي ذَل."َك ّْر ُه ْم بِاَأيَّا ِم ال ل ِه
ٍ ك َلاآ َي ِ ات إِ َلى لنُّو ِر َو ذ ُّ ك ِم َن ل
ِ ظ ُل َم َ وسى بِاآ َياتِ َنا " َأ ْن َأخْ ر ِْج ق َْو َم
َ َو َلقَ ْد َأرْ َس ْل َنا ُم
And surely, We sent Moses as a messenger with Our Ayat, "Bring your people out from all darkness into the light, remind them with the days of Allah". No
doubt that there are many evidences/signs in this for everyone who is patient and who repays for the blessings he is given.

ِ َ ح ُي ِ ِ ُ " ْذك ُُرو نِ ْع َم َة ال ل ِه َع َل ْي:وسى لِقَ ْو ِم ِه
َو.اءك ُْم
َ ون ن َس َ ون َأ ْبَ َن
ْ اءك ُْم َو َي ْس َت َ ح ِ وء ْل َع َذ
ُ ِّ َو ُي َذب،ب َ ك ْم ُس ُ ْجاك ُْم م ْن ِآل فر ْ َع ْو َن َي ُس
ُ ومو َن َ َأن،ك ْم؛ إ ِْذ َ َو إ ِْذ قَالَ ُم
."«.ش ِدي ٌد
َ َو َل ِئ ْن كَفَ ْرتُ ْم إ َِّن َع َذ بِي َل،ك ْم
ُ َِّيدن َ » َل ِئ ْن َش:ك ْم
َ ك ْرتُ ْم َلاَأز ٌ َع ِظ-ك ْم
ُ ُّ َو إ ِْذ َتاَأ َّذ َن َرب.يم ُ ِّم ْن َرب- ٌ ُ ِ فِي ذَل
ِ ك ْم َب َلاء
And when Moses said to his people: "Remember the favor of Allah upon you; when He saved you from the family of Pharaoh who afflicted you with the evil
of torment, strangled your sons; made you weak, unqualified by leaving you uneducated and covered your women with disgrace. There was a great trial for
you from your Rabb that you would wear off in this. And when your Rabb declared: "Indeed, if you repay for the blessings you are given, I will definitely
increase for you and if are ungrateful, My punishment is absolutely very severe".
Division:329
ْ اع ِة ُم
َ ش ِف ِ ِ ش ْو َن َربَّ ُه ْم بِا ْلغ َْي ِ ِ ِ ِ ِ َان َو
َ ون ْلفُ ْرق
.قُون َ لس
َّ َو ُه ْم م َن،ب َ خ َ ين لَّذ
ْ ين َي َ اء َو ذك ًْر ل ْل ُمتَّق
ً ض َي َ ار َ َو َلقَ ْد آ َت ْي َنا ُم
ُ وسى َو َه
And surely, We gave Moses and Aaron the criterion and a light and the reminder for those who fear their Rabb in awe with respect, love, knowledge in the
unseen, unheard and unfelt desolate place, who are apprehensive of the moment of Qiyamat [Resurrection], who have entered under the guardianship of
Allah.

ِ ]عب ِ » َأ َّن ْلاَأرْض َيرِثُ َها ِعب،ِكر ِّ لز ُبورِ[ ِمن َب ْع ِد
ْ لذ ِ َ ،َو َلقَ ْد

َ ح َّ [ادى َ يَ اد َ َ ْ ُّ ] لز ُبو ِر

And surely, after the Reminder/Torah, We decreed, 'Indeed, the earth will be inherited only by My righteous servants' in the Psalms as well.

َ اب َل َعلَّ ُه ْم َي ْه َت ُد َ آ َت ْي َنا ُم،َو َلقَ ْد
And surely, We gave Moses the book so they might follow the righteous path they were guided.

Surely, on the day of Qiyamat [Resurrection], your Rabb; Allah will judge between them about that over which they differed.

ِ َ ل َي ْو َم ِئ ٍذ ل ِ ْل ُم
َ ِك ّذب ٌ ف ََو ْي
Then, on that day, o woe to the deniers who enjoy trivial affairs!
َ ك ْنَ ُت ْم َت ْع َم ُل
-!ون ُ َع َل ْي
ْ ُ إِن ََّما ت.ك ْم
ُ ج َز ْو َن َما
On that day, the deniers will be thrown into the fire of Jahannah [Hell]. -This is the fire you have been denying! Then, is this also a magic? Or, do you not see?
Lean over it! Whether you have patience or you do not have patience, it is the same for you now. You will only be recompensed for what you did!-

When his Rabb called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa/the twice cleaned valley: "Go to Pharaoh! He has indeed transgressed".
"!شى ْ َف َت،ك
َ خ َ ك إِ َلى َأ ْن َت َزكَّى ] َت َّزكَّى[؟ َو َأ ْه ِد َي
َ ِّك إِ َلى َرب َ "ه ْل َل
َ :فَقُ ْل
Then say: "Would you purify yourself? And let me guide you to your Rabb so you may fear Him in awe with respect, love, knowledge!".

.ون َ َان َو ُه ْم ُّ خ َذ ُه ُم ل
ُ طوف َ َفاَأ.اما
ً ين َع ِ َ ف سنَ ٍَة إِلَّا

َ َ يه ْم َأ ْل َ َف َل ِب،وحا إِ َلى ق َْو ِم ِه
ً ُ َأرْ َس ْل َنا ن،َو َلقَ ْد
And indeed, We sent Noah to his people as a messenger, he remained among them for many long stressful years fifty of which was free of distress. And at the
end, flood seized them while they did wrong; acted against their own good by associating others with Allah.

َ إ َِّن لَّذ.كا
ً قُون إِ ْف
َ خ ُل ِ ون ِم ْن ُد
ْ ون ال ل ِه َأ ْو َثا ًنا َو َت َ ك ْنَ ُت ْم َت ْع َل ُم

َ ج ُع ُ فَا ْبَ َتغُو ِع ْن َد ال ل ِه ل ِّر ْز َق َو ْع ُب ُدو ُه َو ْش.ك ْم ر ِْزقًا
َ ْ إِ َل ْي ِه تُر.ك ُرو َل ُه ُ ون َل
َ ك ِ ِم ْن ُد
ُ َلا َي ْم ِل،ون ال ل ِه
And We sent Abraham as a messenger/saved him. When he said to his people: "Worship Allah and enter under the guardianship of Him. It is better for you if
you should know. Indeed, you worship some idols from among those that are inferior to Allah and invent lies. Know that those you worship as idols from
among those that are inferior to Allah do not possess the power of giving provision for you. Therefore, seek provision from Allah and worship Him and repay
to Him for the blessings you have. You will be returned only to Him".

َ اصر ُ ََّو َماأ َو ك ُُم لن
And Abraham said: "You have taken idols from among those that are inferior to Allah only because of the affection among yourselves in the worldly life.
Then, on the day of Qiyamat [Resurrection], some of you will deny some others, some of you will curse some others. Your destination will be Jahannah [Hell].
And there will be no helpers for you".
ون فِي ْ َ جالَ َو َت ْق ْ ُ َّين! َأ ئِن ِ ِ ٍ َ ك ْم بِ َها ِمن َأ ِ َون ْلف ْ ُ َّ " إِن: إ ِْذ قَالَ لِقَ ْو ِم ِه.طا
ً َو لُو
َ ُيل َو َتاأت
َ لس ِب

َ ط ُع َ ُ َل َتاأت،ك ْم

"!ين ِ ِ َّ ت ِمن ِ " ئ ِْت َنا بِ َع َذ: إِلَّا َأ ْن قَالُو،ب ق َْو ِم ِه
ُ ب ال ل ِه إ ِْن َ ك ُم ْل ُم ْن ِ َن
ُ ادي
َ لصادق َ َ ك ْن َ ج َو
َ َان
َ ك َر؟" ف ََما ك
We sent Lot as well. When he said to his people: "Surely, you commit such immorality that those who passed in the world before you did not do! Will you
certainly approach men, obstruct the road and commit evil in your meetings?". Thereafter, the answer of his people was only that they said, "Bring the
punishment of Allah, if you are among the truthful!".

.ين ِ ِ َ حو فِي َد ر ِِه ْم ْ جفَ ُة َفاَأ َ َفاَأ،ك َّذ ُبو ُه
ْ َّ خ َذت ُْه ُم لر َ َف
َ جاثم ُ ص َب
Therefore, they denied him, then a tremor seized them and they fell on knees on their land.
.ِين ِ َو كَانُو ُم ْس َت َْب. ِلس ِبيل َ ف،ان َأ ْع َما َل ُه ْم ِ ك ْم ِمن َمس
َ َو َزيَّ َن َل ُه ُم لشَّ ْي.اك ِن ِه ْم ُ َو ق َْد َت ََب َّي َن َل.[ً ود ] َث ُمود
َ اد َو َث ُم
َ صر َّ َص َّد ُه ْم َع ِن ُ ط َ ْ ً َو َع
We manipulated/destroyed the people of Ad and Thamud. Their manipulation/destruction has been clear to you from their lands. And satan made their deeds
pleasing to them and averted them from the path. Yet, they were those who saw and understood.

ُ َو َأق.ون َ ك ُت ُمو ْل
َ ح َّق َو َأنَْ ُت ْم َت ْع َل ُم ْ اطلِ َو َت ِ حق بِا ْلب

ِ اي فَات ْ َو َلا َت.كونُو َأ َّولَ كَافِ ٍر بِ ِه

َّ َو ْرك َُعو َم َع،َلزكَاة

O Israelites! Remember My favor that I have given upon you as a blessing and be faithful to My covenant/the promise you have given to Me so I may be
faithful to your covenant. You should be ideal people only for Me. Believe in the Qur'an, which I have sent down as a confirmation for the Torah which is
already with you; do not be the first ones who would deny it, knowing that it is the book of the truth. Do not sell My Ayat for a price. And enter only under the
guardianship of Mine. And do not mix the truth with falsehood, do not hide the truth while you know. Establish Salah [establish and maintain the institutions
that support financially and spiritually; enlighten the community], give zaqah; the tax that the believers sincerely give as a liability of belief and duty of
servitude so that the religion of Allah may be spread, maintained and Salah may be established, acknowledge the oneness of Allah with those who
acknowledge the oneness of Allah.

َ َأ َف َلا َت ْع ِق ُل.اب
ون؟ َ ون ْلك َت ُ اس بِا ْل ِب ِّر َو تَ ْن َس ْو َن َأنْفُ َس
َ ك ْم؟ َو َأنَْ ُت ْم تَ ْت ُل َ َأ َتاأ ُم ُر
َ َّون لن
Do you instruct people "being righteous" and you do not care yourselves? But you constantly recite the Book. Will you still not reason?
ٌ ك ْم َع ِظ
-.يم ُ ِ و فِي ذَل-
ُ ِّك ْم َب َلاءٌ ِم ْن َرب َ .اءك ُْم ِ َ ح ُي
َ ون ن َس َ ون َأ ْبَ َن
ْ َو َي ْس َت،اءك ُْم َ ح ِ وء ْل َع َذ
ُ ِّ ُي َذب،ب ُ ومو َن
َ ك ْم ُس

ُ ج ْي َناك ُْم م ْن ِآل فر ْ َع ْو َن َي ُس
َّ َن،َو إ ِْذ
And when We saved you from the people who were close to Pharaoh, who afflicted you with the worst of the punishment, strangled your sons; made you
weak, unqualified by leaving you uneducated, covered your women with disgrace. -And there was a great trial in this for you from your Rabb.-
َ ظال ِ ُم
.ون َ ج َل ِم ْن َب ْع ِد ِه َو َأنَْ ُت ْم
ْ ثُ َّم ت ََّخ ْذتُ ُم ْل ِع،ين َل ْي َل ًة ِ
َ َو إ ِْذ َو َع ْد َنا ُم
َ وسى َأ ْر َبع
And when We promised Moses the forty nights and then you took gold as your idol after him, treating unjustly to your very selves.

َ ك ُر ْ ك ْم َت َ ِ ك ْم ِم ْن َب ْع ِد ذَل
ُ َّك َل َعل ُ َعفَ ْو َنا َع ْن،ثُ َّم
Then, We forgave you so you might repay for the blessings you had.

ُ ِ ك ْم ِع ْن َد َبا رِئ
َ " َف َت.ك ْم
اب ُ خ ْي ٌر َل ُ ِ ذَل.ك ْم
َ ،ك ْم ُ ِ َف ُتو ُبو إِ َلى َبا رِئ.ج َل
ُ ك ْم فَا ْق ُت ُلو َأنْفُ َس ِ ك ْم بِاتِ َّخ
ْ اذك ُُم ْل ِع ُ ظ َل ْم ُت ْم َأنْفُ َس ُ َّ " َيا ق َْو ِم! إِن،وسى لِقَ ْو ِم ِه
َ ك ْم َ َو إ ِْذ قَالَ ُم
ِ ُ َع َل ْي
.يم ُ ُه َو لتَّ َّو، إِنَّ ُه.ك ْم
ُ لرَّح،ب
And when Moses said to his people: "O my people! Surely, you have done wrong to yourselves by worshipping gold. Then, repent to your Creator and change
your selves. This is better in the sight of your Creator". Then, your Creator accepted your repentance. Surely, your Creator is the One Who accepts the
repentances much, the One Who gives many opportunities to repent; the One Who is the possessor of vast mercy.

َ ك ُر ْ ك ْم َت ُ ِ َب َع ْثَ َناك ُْم ِم ْن َب ْع ِد َم ْوت،ثُ َّم
ُ َّك ْم َل َعل
Then, We revived you after your death/removed the disgrace from you and made you honorable so you might repay for the blessings you had been given.

ُ قُون!" َو َرف َْع َنا ف َْو َق ِ ِ َو ْذكُرو َما ف،"خ ُذو َما آ َتي َناك ُْم بِقُ و ٍة

And when We took a strong covenant from you and raised your master; the chosen one, Moses up to the Mount Tur,[#332] saying: "Hold onto that which We
have given you and never forget that which it contains so you may enter under the guardianship of Allah".
[#332] The events mentioned herein are those that are dealt with in the Surat Al-A'raf/138-155 and Ta-Ha/80-98 (Division: 120). The term fawq that is originally contained within the Ayah serves as both the particle "above", antonym of "lower"; and also infinite
form of the verb faqah which itself means being exalted above someone else in terms of honor and virtue. Moreover, the term fawq is usually used to express spiritual exaltedness. See. Official Mushaf: Az-Zukhruf/32; Al-Baqara/212; Ali-Imran/55; Al-An'am/18
and Al-A'raf/127. The Israelites mentioned herein are the lower ones and Moses is the exalted one.

."ون ْ ِ َو َلا ب،ِض ِ
ٌ َبقَ َر ٌة َلا فَار، » إِن ََّها: ُ " إِنَّ ُه َيقُول، َ قَال." ُي ََب ِّي ْن َل َنا َما ه َي،ك
َ َّع َل َنا َرب
ُ " ْد، قَالُو
They said: "Call upon your Rabb for us so He may make clear to us what that heifer is". Moses said: "My Rabb says: 'Indeed, the heifer should be neither old
nor too young but in between; at its best and most productive age'. Now, do what you are commanded".

[405:007] 2/Bakara [69]
ِ ِ
َ فَاق ٌع؛ َل ْونُ َها َت ُس ُّر لنَّاظر،ص ْف َر ُء
."«ِين َ َبقَ َر ٌة، » إِن ََّها: ُ " إِنَّ ُه َيقُول، َ قَال." ُي ََب ِّي ْن َل َنا َما َل ْونُ َها،ك
َ َّع َل َنا َرب
ُ " ْد، قَالُو
They said: "Call upon your Rabb for us so He may make it clear to us what is the color of the heifer". Moses said: "Surely my Rabb says: 'Surely, the heifer is a
yellow; bright yellow cow which makes the beholder cheer'".
َ اء ال ل ُه َل ُم ْه َت ُد
."ون َ َت، إ َِّن ْل َبقَ َر، ُي ََب ِّي ْن َل َنا َما ِه َي،ك
َ شا َب َه َع َل ْي َنا َو إِنَّا إ ِْن َش َ َّع َل َنا َرب
ُ " ْد، قَالُو
They said: "Call upon your Rabb for us so He may make it clear to us what it is like, surely all cows look alike to us and surely if Allah wills, we will be the
ones who follow the righteous path we are guided".
َ َي ْف َع ُل
.ون
Moses said: "Surely, my Rabb says: 'That heifer is not under service/not used for plowing or irrigation, is free and without a spot'". They said: "Now you have
brought the truth". And they slaughtered it. But they almost failed to do.[#333]
[#333] In this passage, Allah shows how ambiguous statements should be interpreted. It is understood that the term cattle mentioned within the Ayat is used to mean "gold". Therefore, the involuntary slaughter of the cattle implies that Israelites abstained from
worshipping gold involuntarily.

Yes, whoever earns evil and his mistake surrounds himself; they are the companions of the fire. They will abide there eternally.

And when We took "a certain promise" from Israelites: "You will worship none but Allah, do good to your parents, relatives, orphans and the needy, speak
good to people, establish Salah [establish and maintain the institutions that support financially and spiritually; enlighten the community] and give zaqah; the
tax that the believers sincerely give as a liability of belief and duty of servitude so that the religion of Allah may be spread, maintained and Salah may be
established". Then, except for a few, you turned away. And you are the ones who stay away.

َ كافر
And when a book; the Qur'an which comes from Allah to confirm what is with them -then, they intended to prevail over the infidels; those who consciously
deny the divinity of Allah and the fact that He is Rabb and that which they recognized came to them- they concealed it themselves. Then, curse of
Allah/deprival of His mercy is upon those who conceal the divinity of Allah and the fact that He is Rabb.
ٌ َع َذ
ٌ ب ُم ِه
.ين
How evil is that for which they sold themselves; their conscious denial of that which Allah has sent down; the Qur'an out of their envy for blessings Allah
sends down upon whomever He wills of His servants! And because of this, Allah was very displeased with them. The humiliating punishment is only for those
who consciously deny the truth.

.ون َ ج َل« ِم ْن َب ْع ِد ِه َو َأنَْ ُت ْم

And surely, Moses came to you with clear evidences. Then, you idolized "gold" after him as the ones who treated their own selves unjustly.

And when We took a sound covenant from you, saying, 'Take the Book that We have given to you tightly and heed carefully" and then We raised your
master/the chosen one Moses up to Mount Tur. They said: "We have listened and disobeyed/held tightly". And their hearts were made to absorb the divinity
of the gold because of their conscious denial of the truth. Say: "If you are believers, then how evil is that which your belief commands you!".[#336]

great bounty.

Or, do you want to question your Messenger as Moses was questioned before? And whoever replaces faith with disbelief, then he has gone astray from the
soundness of the path.

And you, establish Salah [establish and maintain the institutions that support financially and spiritually; enlighten the community] and give zaqah; the tax
that the believers sincerely give as a liability of belief and duty of servitude so that the religion of Allah may be spread, maintained and Salah may be
established! Whatever good you do for yourselves, you will find it with Allah. Indeed, Allah is the One Who sees best what you do.

And Jews said: "Christians are upon nothing/there is nothing significant about them". And Christians said: "Jews are upon nothing/there is nothing significant
about them". Yet they recite the book indeed. And the people who do not know spoke like them. But on the day of Qiyamat [Resurrection], Allah will judge
among them about that over which they have differed.

.يم ٌ َل ُه ْم في ْلاآخ َرة َع َذ
And who else can treat more unjustly to their very selves than those who forbid and strive to demolish the schools where Allah is introduced-taught so the
name of Allah may not be mentioned therein?!.. Those will enter those schools where Allah is introduced-taught only with fear. Disgrace is for them on the
earth. And there will be a great punishment for them in Akhirat [Afterlife] as well.

He is the creator of the heavens/universe and the earth from nothing. And when He decrees an affair to be done, He only says "Be!" and it immediately is.

Enter under the guardianship of Allah against the day when no one will avail another, no ransom will be accepted from anyone, no help, intercession will

Say: "We believe in Allah, that which has been revealed to us, that which was revealed to Abraham and Ishmael and Isaac and Jacob and their grandsons, that
which was given to Moses and Jesus and that which was given to prophets from their Rabb; never we separate them from each other and only for Him we are
the ones who Islamize [create well-being, peace, happiness and make incorruptible...]"

And if those who intend to make believers Jews, Christians believe as you have believed, then they have certainly followed the righteous path they were
guided. But if they turn away, they are only in dissension. Sufficient is Allah for you against them. And He is the One Who hears best, knows best.

Say: "Although Allah is your Rabb and our Rabb, do you argue with us about Him? Also, our deeds are for us and your deeds are for you only. And we are the
ones who purify Allah from all deficiencies for Him only. Or do you say: "Indeed, Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob and their grandsons were all Jews or
Christians?". Say: "Do you know more or Allah does? Who else can treat himself more unjustly than the one who conceals a testimony with him that has come
from Allah? Allah is not unaware of, apathetic to what you do".

The mankind was one community with a leader, then Allah sent prophets as harbingers of tidings and warners and He also sent down with them the book
with the truth so they might judge between the people over what they differed. And those who had been given the Book differed only because of their
transgression between them after that many proofs had come to them. Then, pursuant to His knowledge, Allah guided the believers to the truth over which
they had differed. And Allah guides whomever He wills/whoever wills to the straight path.

َ ك ُر ْ لنَّاسِ َلا َي
ُ ش
Have you not seen/thought about the people who left their land fearing death although they were thousands, to whom Allah said, "Die/may your soul
abandon you!" and then gave them a life? Surely, Allah is possessor of a bounty for the people. But most of the people do not repay for the blessings they are
given.

Their prophet said: "Surely, evidence/sign of his kingship will be that the casket will come to you which powerful creatures carried and which contains the
feelings of trust and tranquility/morale that pacify the heart from your Rabb; a remnant that powerful creatures carried of what the families of Moses and
Aaron had left. If you are those who have believed, indeed, there is certainly an evidence/a sign in this for you".
َّ َو ال ل ُه َم َع.ير ًة بِ إا ِْذ ِن ال ل ِه ِ ْ َغ َلب،"ك َْم ِمن فِئَ ٍَة ق َِلي َل ٍة
َ لصابِر
".ِين َ ت فئَ ًة ك َِث َ ْ
And when Saul set out with his army, he said: "Surely, Allah will test you with a river. Whoever drinks from it is not by my side. And whoever does not taste it
-except for the one who takes in the hollow of his hand- is indeed by my side". Then most of them except a few drank from it. And when Saul and the
believers with him crossed the river, Israelites said: "Today we do not have power to stand against Goliath and his army". Those who believe certainly that
they will meet Allah said: "By the permission of Allah, many small groups prevailed over large groups. Allah is with those who have patience".

They disbelieved in the Ayat/evidences/signs of Allah just as the people close to Pharaoh and people before them and Allah seized them because of their
sins. Indeed, Allah is very powerful, the One Whose recompense/judgement is severe.

.يم ٌ َو َأ َّن ال ل َه َس ِم-س ِه ْم
ِ ُحتَّى ُي َغ ِّيرو َما بِاَأنْف-
ُ َ ك ُم َغ ِّي ًر نِ ْع َم ًة َأن َْع َم َها َع َلى ق َْو ٍم َ ِ ذَل
ُ َل ْم َي، بِاَأ َّن ال ل َه،ك
This is indeed because that Allah would not change what He bestowed as a blessing upon a people until those people change that which is within
themselves, that which they have and that surely Allah is the One Who hears best, knows best.

َ ظالم ُ َو.اه ْم بِ ُذنُ وبِ ِه ْم؛ َو َأ ْغ َر ْق َنا آلَ فِر ْ َع ْو َن

ْ َفاَأ ْه َل.ات َربِّ ِه ْم

They denied the Ayat/evidences/signs of their Rabb just as the people close to Pharaoh and people before them. We manipulated/destroyed them because of
their sins; We drowned the people close to Pharaoh in the water. All of them were the ones who treated their selves unjustly.

Indeed, the infidels; those who consciously deny the divinity of Allah and the fact that He is Rabb; their wealth and children, -like the close people of
Pharaoh and those before them- will not avail them against Allah at all. And they are the fuel of the fire. The close people of Pharaoh and those before them
denied our Ayat and Allah seized them because of their sins. And Allah is the One Whose recompense/seizure is severe.

And He will make him a messenger to Israelites to say, 'The truth is that I have brought/come to you with an evidence/a sign from your Rabb; surely, I design
for you a clay; mud; ceramic object; thurible (censer) that resembles a bird. Then I blow into it; form an aerosol so, by permission of Allah, all that which
causes illness will become a bird/fly away. I remove the blindness which is not from birth, poisoning of snake, scorpion and lizard/harmful plants in the
vineyards, gardens and farms by permission/knowledge of Allah and I revive the social dead by permission of Allah. I inform you about your food that you will
eat and store in your houses; save to eat later. -If you are the ones who believe, there is definitely an evidence/a sign in this for you.- I confirm the contents
of Torah only which is contained in the Bible as well. I will make lawful a part of that which has been forbidden to you. I have brought to you an evidence/a
sign from your Rabb. Now enter under the guardianship of Allah and follow me. Surely, Allah is my Rabb and your Rabb. Therefore, worship Him! This is the
righteous path'".

A group from among the People of the Book said: "Believe at the dawn in that which has been revealed and at the end of the day, consciously
deny/disbelieve it. And do not believe in that a similar of what was given to you has been given to someone else or do not believe in people other than those
who follow your religion concerning that they would bring evidences against you before your Rabb" so that the believers might turn away. Say: "Surely, the
guidance, is the guidance of Allah". Say: "Indeed, grace is in the hands of Allah and He gives it to whomever He wills. And Allah is the One Whose knowledge
and mercy is vast and limitless, the One Who knows very well. He selects for His mercy whom He wills. And Allah is the possessor of great bounty".

ِ ك ِ ام ِة َو َلا ُيز
َ َ ظ ُر إِ َل ْي ِه ْم َي ْو َم ْل ِق َي َ َو َلا ُي.اق َل ُه ْم فِي ْلاآ ِخ َر ِة

Surely, those who sell the covenant of Allah/the promises and the oaths they have given to Allah for a price; it is those for whom will be no share in Akhirat
[Afterlife]. And on the day of Qiyamat [Resurrection], Allah will not speak to them, will not look at them nor purify them. And a painful punishment will be for
them.

And there is a fool and rogue group among the People of the Book who twist and turn their tongues towards the book so you may assume that it is from the
book while it is not from the book. They say, "This is from Allah" while it is not from Allah. They lie about Allah while they know.

َ اس ِ َك ُه ُم ْلف َ ِ ف ََم ْن َت َولَّى َب ْع َد ذَل
َ َفاُأو َل ِئ،ك
And whoever turns away after this, it is those who go astray from the righteous path.

.ِين ِ َ فِي ْلاآ ِخر ِة ِمن ْل، َو ُهو. َف َلن ُي ْقب َل ِم ْن ُه،َو َمن َي َْبَ َت ِغ َغ ْير ْل إاِس َلا ِم ِدي ًنا
َ خاسر َ َ َ َ ْ ْ َ ْ
And whoever seeks a religion other than Islam, then it will never be accepted from him. And one who seeks a religion other than Islam will be among the
losers in Akhirat [Afterlife].

Before the Torah was revealed, all food was halal/permissible for Israelites except for what Israel/Jacob made haram/forbidden for himself. Say: "If you are
truthful, bring the Torah and recite it at once. And whoever invents a lie about Allah after this, then it is those who do wrong; act against their own good".

ُ ِ َأ ْع َل ُم بِاَأ ْع َد ئ،َو ال ل ُه
And Allah knows your enemies better. And Allah is sufficient as familiar Who guides, protects. And Allah is sufficient as familiar Who helps.

Do you not see those who claim themselves to be pure? Rather, Allah purifies whom He wills. They will not be treated unjustly, even as much as a thread.

Do you not see those who have been given a share from the Book?! They believe in idol and taghut[#372]. And they say about those who disbelieve in Allah:
"They are on a path more righteous than of the believers".

Or do they have a share of the dominion of the world? If this was the case, they would not give the people even a speck of a date seed.

The People of the Book ask you to bring down a book from the heavens/universe. And they had definitely asked Moses greater than that and said: "Show us
Allah manifestly". Then the thunderbolt hit them for their wrongdoing. Then they took gold as their god although clear evidences had come to them. Then
We forgave them from that as well. And We gave Moses clear evidence.

Then, for the unjust behaviors of those who had become Jews, their efforts to avert many people from the path of Allah, that they took Riba [obtaining
revenues without effort, service and risk] although it was forbidden to them and their consumption of wealth of the people without right, We made
haram/forbidden that which had been made halal/permissible to them. And We have prepared a painful punishment for the infidels; those who consciously
denied the divinity of Allah and the fact that He is Rabb from among those that had become Jews.
َ َو ْل ُمؤْ ِم ُن،َلزكَاة
ون بِال َّ ِه َو َ ُ َو ْل ُمؤْ ت،َلص َلوة
َّ ون ِ ِ َ ك َو َما ُأ ْنز ِلَ ِم ْن ق َْب ِل

But those who have been deep in knowledge and who believe from among those who became Jews believe in what has been revealed to you and what was
revealed before. They are the ones who establish Salah [establish and maintain the institutions that support financially and spiritually; enlighten the
community], give zaqah; the tax that the believers sincerely give as a liability of belief and duty of servitude so that the religion of Allah may be spread,
maintained and Salah may be established, believe in Allah and the day of Akhirat [Afterlife]. They are the ones whom We will give a great reward.

No doubt that We have revealed to you as We revealed to Noah and all prophets after him. We revealed to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, their grandsons,
Jesus, Job, Jonas, Aaron and Solomon, the messengers about whom We have mentioned to you, the messengers about whom We have not mentioned to you
as warners and harbingers so the people might not have any evidence against Allah after the messengers. And We gave David the Psalms. And Allah spoke to
Moses/hurt him, made him go through many distress. And Allah is the One Who is the most exalted, the most powerful, the most honorable, the
invincible/the subduer, the best law maker, the One Who precludes corruption best/makes incorruptible.

And if they deny you, know that before them the people of Noah, Ad, Thamud, the people of Abraham, the people of Lot and the companions of Midian
denied too. And Moses was also denied so I gave a respite to the infidels; those who consciously deny the divinity of Allah and the fact that He is Rabb. Then
I seized them. So, how was not knowing Me!

And so for those many cities which did wrong; acted against their own good by associating others with Myself; I gave them respite then seized them. Only to
Me is the return.

Say: "O people! I am only an explicit warner/a warner who clarifies for you. And those who have believed and do amendatory deeds; forgiveness and a noble
provision will be only for them".

And those who strive against Our Ayat to incapacitate; they are the companions of Jahannah [Hell].

O you who have believed! Will I show you a beneficial business that will save you from a painful punishment? You will believe in Allah and His messenger;
strive in the path of Allah with your wealth and lives. This is better for you, if you should know: He will forgive your sins and admit you into the gardens of
Jannah [Heaven/Paradise], underneath of which rivers flow, and into the pleasant dwellings in the gardens of Eden. This is the great salvation. And another
thing you will like: Help from Allah and an imminent conquest... And give the believers the good tidings.

O you who have believed! Be helpers of Allah; as when once Jesus, son of Mary, said to apostles: "Who are my helpers for Allah?". And apostles said to him:
"We are helpers of Allah". Then, a group of people believed in Israelites and another group did not. Then, We strengthened those who believed against their
enemies so they prevailed.

O People of the Book! Indeed, Our Messenger who makes clear to you most of that which you have been concealing from the Book and overlooks many has
come to you. And indeed, a light and an explicit Book from Allah has come to you. Allah guides those who seek His pleasure to the paths of salamat [peace,
safety, happiness] by that Book. He brings them out from all darkness into the light and guides them to the straight path with His knowledge.

ُ صِ َو إِ َل ْي ِه ْل َم. َو ْلاَأرْضِ َو َما َب ْي َن ُه َما،ت

َ لس َم ُ َو لِلّ ِه ُم ْل.اء

And the Jews and the Christians said: "We are the sons of Allah and His beloved ones". Say: "If so, why does Allah punish you for your sins?" Rather, you are
humans of what He has formed. He forgives whom He wills, punishes whom He wills. Only to Him belongs the possession and dominion of that which is in
the heavens/universe and on the earth and in between. And only to Him will be the return.

ٌ ُل َش ْيء قَد
ِّ ك
O People of the Book! When intervals between the coming of messengers increased, there has come to you Our Messenger who conveys/makes clear to you
so you may not say: "No harbinger of good tidings and no warner has come us". There has definitely come to you the harbinger of good tidings and warner.
Allah is the One Who is competent over everything.

َّ َو َع َلى ال ل ِه َف َت َو.ون ِ ِ ِ ج َل

َ ك ْنَ ُت ْم ُمؤْ من ُ َّ َف إِان،خ ْل ُت ُمو ُه َ خ ُلو َع َل ْي ِه ُم ْل َب
َ َف إِا َذ َد.اب ُ " ْد:ُون َأن َْع َم ال ل ُه َع َل ْي ِه َما
َ خا ف َ ان م َن لَّذ
َ ين َي ُ َقَالَ ر
Two men[#402] from among those who fear/are scared of and upon whom Allah has bestowed His favor said: "Enter upon them through the gate. If you enter
there, you will surely be the ones who prevail. And if you believe, rely only on Allah".
[#402] Understanding this passage depends on historical knowledge of the events cited. Events Biblical Numbers; It is explained in detail in chapters 13 and 14. The events described in these chapters are among the chapters approved by our Qur'an.
In summary: Moses intends to conquer the land of Canaan. But the Israelites around him were afraid to fight the inhabitants and opposed Moses. Moses was about to study in the land of Canaan; From each tribe of the Israelites, they were sent as spies to see if
the people living there were strong or weak, whether the country they lived in was good or bad, how their city was, whether it was fortified or not, how the land was, whether it was fertile or barren, and whether they would bring fruit from the surrounding area.

When the spies returned, "The people living there are strong, the cities are fortified and very large. We even saw people descended from Anak there. The Amalekites live in the Negev; the Hittites, Jebusites, and Amorites live in the mountainous region; and the
Canaanites live by the sea and on the banks of the Jordan River. We felt weak next to them like grasshoppers, and we looked like that. We can't attack this people, they are stronger than us. Moreover, everyone we saw there was tall."
Two of the spies sent, according to the Bible; Joshua son of Nun and Caleb son of Jefunne silenced the people in front of Moses and said, "Let's go there and take over the land. We certainly have enough strength to do this." According to the Qur'an, "Enter them by
the door. Here, if you enter from there, you will certainly be the victorious ones. If you believe, then entrust the outcome of the matter only to Allah." they say. According to this explanation in the Qur'an and Musa's reproach in verse 25, saying, "My Lord! I can't
control anyone but myself and my brother. Now separate us from this people who have gone astray from the right path."
These are the "two of those who fear" mentioned in the verse; that is, Joshua' son of Nun and Caleb son of Jefunne.
Mujahid and Ibn Jubayr read the word " ي َ َخافُو َنyehafune" in the verse as " ي ُ َخافُو َنyuhafuna" (Kurtubi). According to this reading, the meaning of the sentence is "two of the feared". In this case, the two people who give courage are the people of the country that
Moses wanted to conquer, who believed in and adhered to Moses. They gave information about their country and declared that it could be easily conquered by Moses.

Surely, it was We Who sent down the Torah in which was a guidance to the righteous path and a light. Prophets who were Muslims judge for the Jews by it,
and those who have devoted themselves to Allah and rabbis judge by that which they were entrusted of the book of Allah and that over which they witness.
Do not fear humans in awe and respect, fear Me in awe and respect. And do not sell My Ayat for a price. And whoever does not judge by what Allah has
revealed; they are the ones who are the infidels; they are the ones who consciously deny the divinity of Allah and the fact that He is Rabb.

And We ordained for them in the Torah, a self for a self, an eye for an eye, a nose for a nose, an ear for an ear, a tooth for a tooth. And for wounds is
retribution. But whoever gives up his right of retribution, this becomes an expiation for him. And whoever does not judge by that which Allah has revealed;
then they are the ones who do wrong; act against their own good.

And We sent Jesus, son of Mary, in the footsteps of those prophets before him, confirming the contents of the Torah which is with them. And We gave him the
Bible which is a guidance as a confirmation of the contents of the Torah, as a guidance and a reminder for those who have entered under the guardianship of
Allah.

And let the companions of the Bible judge by what Allah has revealed in it. And whoever does not judge by what Allah has revealed; then they are the ones
who have gone astray from the righteous path.

And We have revealed to you the Book/the Qur'an with the truth that confirms, defends and protects a part of the Torah which it contains. Then, judge
between them by what Allah has revealed. Do not follow their desires and inclinations by going astray from the truth that has come to you. And We have
determined for each of you a roadmap/collective principles of life and a wide, illuminated path. If Allah had willed, He would have made you one community
with a leader yet He did not so He may wear you down/test you in what He has given upon you. Therefore, race to the good. To Allah is your return all
together. Then, He will inform you about that over which you differed.

َ اس ِ َ َو إ َِّن ك َِثير ِمن لنَّاسِ َلف.بِب ْعضِ ُذنُ وبِ ِه ْم
َ ً َ
And judge between them by what Allah has revealed and do not follow their desires. Beware of that they would throw you into the fire by averting you from
a part of what Allah has revealed to you. And if they turn away, know that Allah intends to afflict them for some of their sins/with the suffering of their sins.
And surely, many among the people are the ones who have gone astray from righteous path.

Or, do they seek for the judgment of ignorance? Indeed, who else can be better than Allah in judgment for a people who know?

You see many of them race in that which causes to waste time/delaying the good/being reluctant for the good/harming, in animosity and consuming
haram/forbidden. How evil is that which they do!

َ َما ُأ ْنز ِلَ إِ َل ْي،ير ِم ْن ُه ْم
ً ِيد َّن ك َِث
َ َو َل َيز.اء
ُ ش َ ان؛ ُيَ ْن ِف ُق ك َْي
َ ف َي ِ ط َت ِ ت َأ ْي ِد
َ َب ْل َي َد ُه َم ْب ُسو-. َو لُ ِع ُنو بِ َما قَالُو،يه ْم ْ َّ ُغل- ."ت ْل َي ُهو ُد " َي ُد ال ل ِه َمغْ ُلو َل ٌة
ِ َو قَا َل
ِ ِ ِ
َ ب ْل ُم ْفسد
.ين ُّ ُيح
And the Jews said: "Allah is stingy". -They became stingy for what they said and they were cursed.- Quite contrary, Allah is generous; He spends however He
wills. And surely, that which has been revealed to you by Allah increases their transgression and disbelief; conscious denial of the divinity of Allah and the
fact that He is Rabb. And We cast animosity and hatred among those Jews until Qiyamat [Resurrection]. Whenever they set a fire to fight/corrupt, Allah put it
out. And they strive for corruption on the earth. Yet Allah does not like the corrupters.
َ َي ْع َم ُل
!ون
And no doubt, had they upheld the Torah, the Bible and the Qur'an that has been revealed to them by their Rabb, they would have been fed from above them
and from beneath their feet [from all directions]. Some of them are a moderate people with a leader; who believe some of it and do not believe some of it,
who pretend to act like they believe while they do not. How evil is what most of them do!

َلا َي ْه ِدي ْلقَ ْو َم، إ َِّن ال ل َه. ِك ِم َن لنَّاس ِ َو ال ل ُه َي ْع.[ت ر َِسا َل َت ُه ]ر َِسا َلاتِ ِه
َ ص ُم َ ِّك ِم ْن َرب
َ ْ ف ََما َبلَّغ، َو إ ِْن َل ْم َت ْف َع ْل.ك َ َيا َأيُّ َها لر َّ ُسولُ ! َب ِلّغْ َما ُأ ْنز ِلَ إِ َل ْي

َ كافر
O Messenger! Convey that which has been revealed to you from your Rabb. If you do not do this, then you have not fulfilled the duty of messenger that He
assigned you. And Allah will protect you from the people. Surely, Allah will not guide infidels; those who consciously deny His divinity and the fact that He is
Rabb.

.يم ٌ ُون إِ َلى ال ل ِه َو َي ْس َتغْ ِف ُرو َن ُه؟ َو ال ل ُه َغف
ٌ رَح،ور َ َأ َف َلا َيَ ُتو ُب
Do they still not repent to Allah and ask forgiveness of Him? Allah is the One Who forgives much, shows great mercy.

".يم ُ لس ِم
َّ ُه َو،ض ًّر َو َلا َن ْف ًعا؟ َو ال ل ُه ُ ك َل
َ ك ْم ِ ون ِم ْن ُد
ُ ون ال ل ِه َما َلا َي ْم ِل َ " َأ َت ْع ُب ُد:ق ُْل
Say: "Do you worship that which possesses no power to harm and benefit you from among those that are inferior to Allah? But Allah is the One Who hears
very well, knows very well".
َ خال ِ ُد
.ون ِ ط ال ل ُه َع َل ْي ِه ْم! َو فِي ْل َع َذ
َ ب ُه ْم ِ ت َل ُه ْم َأنْفُ س ُه ْم؛ َأ ْن س
َ خ َ ُ َ َل ِب ْئ. ين كَفَ ُرو
ْ س َما َق َّد َم ِ ِ َترى ك َِث
َ َيَ َت َولَّ ْو َن لَّذ،ير م ْن ُه ْم
ً َ
You see that they make many of them, the infidels; those who consciously deny the divinity of Allah and the fact that He is Rabb their guardians, supervisors,
governors. How evil is that which their selves have brought forth for them; that Allah was not pleased with them! They will abide in the punishment
eternally.

َلا،"ما َل َنا
َ ين!" َو ِ ِ ْ فَا،"ربََّ َنا! َآمنَّا
َ ك ُت َْبَ َنا َم َع لشَّ اهد َ ِم َّما َع َرفُو ِم َن ْل،يض ِم َن ل َّد ْم ِع
َ ُ َيقُول.ح ِّق
َ :ون ِ ِ ِ
ُ َترَى َأ ْع ُي َن ُه ْم َتف،َو إِ َذ َسم ُعو َما ُأ ْنز ِلَ إِ َلى لر َّ ُسول
"!ين ِ ِ َّ ط َم ُع َأ ْن ُي ْد ِخ َل َنا َربَُّ َنا َم َع ْلقَ ْو ِم َ اء َنا ِم َن ْل
ْ َو َن،ح ِّق َ نُؤْ ِم ُن بِال َّ ِه َو َما
َ لصالح َ ج
And when they listen to the Qur'an that has been revealed to the Messenger, you see their eyes become filled with tears because of that they have
recognized that it is the truth. They say: "O our Rabb! We have believed so write us among the witnesses!" and "And why should we not believe in Allah and
that which has come to us from the truth while we hope that our Rabb would admit us with the people of the righteous!".

ُ ح َ ين كَفَ ُرو َو ك ََّذ ُبو بِاآ َياتِ َنا؛ ُأو َل ِئ
ْ َأ،ك
َ ص ِ
َ َو لَّذ.ين
ِ ِ ْ ج َز ء ْل ُم
َ حسن ُ َ ،ك َ ِين ف
َ ِ َو ذَل.يها ِ ِ َ ،ح ِت َها ْلاَأن َْهار
َ خالد ُ ْ جر ِي ِم ْن َت ٍ َّجن
ْ ات َت َ ، َفاَأ َثا َب ُه ُم ال ل ُه بِ َما قَالُو

ِ حي َ ْل
Because of what they said, Allah rewarded them with the gardens of Jannah [Heaven/Paradise], underneath of which rivers flow as the ones who will abide
therein eternally. And this is the recompense of those who produce good. And as for those who deny and disbelieve in our Ayat; they are the companions of
Jahannah [Hell].

َ َيا َأيُّ َها لَّذ

!م ّ ِ ف ََب،ُيَ ْن ِفقُو َن َها فِي َس ِبيلِ ال ل ِه
ٍ ش ْر ُه ْم بِ َع َذ
O you who have believed! Surely, many of the rabbis/scholars and priests consume the wealth of the people unjustly and avert them from the path of Allah.
And as for those who hoard gold and silver and do not spend them for the cause of Allah/provide sustenance first for their relatives and then others, give
them the tidings of a painful punishment immediately!
َ ك ِن ُز
"!ون ُ ف َُذوقُو َما.ك ْم
ْ ك ْنَ ُت ْم َت ِ ُك َن ْزتُ ْم لِاَأنْف
ُ س َ "ه َذ َما
َ :ور ُه ْم ُ ج ُنو ُب ُه ْم َو
ُ ظ ُه ُ ك َوى بِ َها ِج َب
ُ اه ُه ْم َو َ ح َمى َع َل ْي َها فِي َنا ِر
ْ َف ُت،ج َهنَّ َم ْ ُي،َي ْو َم
On that day, gold and silver that they have been hoarding will be heated in the fire of Jahannah [Hell] and their foreheads, flanks and backs will be seared
with them: "This is that which you have hoarded for yourselves. Now taste that which you have been hoarding!".
